On behalf of Jim Childs, our Finance Committee Chair, and the entire Advisory Board, I would like to thank you for your support! Our ministry is 100% donor funded and thus, would not exist without the generous commitment of our Catholic Trojan Family. Thankfully, when you give to the Catholic Center, you also receive dollar-for-dollar credit with the university. Every gift matters and every gift counts. Last year was a tremendous success on both the financial and programmatic front. As you can see from the FY19 Financial Snapshot, we have a balanced budget and were able to put away nearly $2M for endowment. On the programmatic side, we did a deep-dive into the past four years of growth and nearly all of our categories have grown. We take great pride in being able to track the scope and impact of our ministry. As Rick Warren, Pastor of Saddleback Church, says, “We count people, because people count!” The good news is obviously more and more students continue to make "the CC" their home but unfortunately, the bad news is that it costs more! So, in order to keep pace with that growth, we need YOU. Our CC theme this year is from Matthew’s Gospel, “Take courage, it is I, Do not be afraid… come!” We hope YOU will take courage and come get involved at the CC: become a mentor, join us for Mass, join the Parent Association or Newman Guild, buy a table for the Trojan Saint Dinner, or whatever it is, “come and see;” our mission needs you! Your time, your talent, your treasure matters to our USC students. We are not funded by USC nor the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, so please make the CC a philanthropic priority and help us meet our FY20 fundraising goal.

HOW YOU CAN HELP If you think back to your college days, there may have been barely enough money for your books and food, let alone enough if you wanted to give back to your church. Our Savior Parish is the youngest parish (age of parishioners) in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Our income from our in-pew offertory is roughly $800 total each week, which is not enough to support the $3M budget of USC Caruso Catholic Center(USC CCC) and Our Savior Parish. The goal of The Campaign for USC Caruso Catholic Center and Our Savior Parish is twofold: strengthen our annual fund, as well as grow our current $10M endowment to a minimum of $30M. It is important to know that our campaign is separate from that of USC and as well as the campaign for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. We do not receive funding from either entity. We rely on the generosity of our alumni, parents, friends and foundations to fund $2.5M each year, which is not sustainable for long term success. This is why our campaign is so important. It is imperative that we have the resources to accommodate every student who seeks to be part of our community from now into the future.
Please join us by considering one or more of the following: 1) Make a pledge to support USC CCC while your student is enrolled in the university. 2) If your student has graduated or you are an alumni, consider establishing an endowment at USC in your family name for the benefit of USC CCC. 3) Consider leaving USC CCC in your will, trust or estate! This is a great way to leave a legacy for Catholic Trojans for years to come. Your contribution may qualify you for a USC Associates membership including: on-campus parking; invitations to exclusive USC events; naming opportunities for you or your family; name on our Trojan Saint Donor Wall; a named endowment at USC, and recognition in our annual report.
