Vacation Bible School 2022: Get Ready for Birthday Blast — A Celebration of Life!

With summer right around the corner, our parishioners are hard at work preparing for this year’s Vacation Bible School program. For many years here at Our Lady of Hope, our volunteers have presented Vacation Bible School (VBS) for the children of our parish.

The theme for this year’s VBS program is “Birthday Blast: A Celebration of Life!” This pro-life-themed program gives children the chance to learn, discover, respect, protect, serve and celebrate life — developing an awareness of God’s creation and the dignity of the human person.

This year’s program will be held in the evenings of June 6-9 and is open for all children ages Pre-K through fifth grade. Older children — sixth grade and up — are welcome to sign up as volunteers and helpers for the program. VBS presents an exciting opportunity for all children to participate and learn more about their faith. continued on back cover

“We always need and welcome volunteers,” says Kande Batz, one of the organizers for this year’s VBS program. “Volunteers may use their gifts and talents in one of the stations, as a group leader, or in other supportive roles. Students who are sixth grade and older are encouraged to volunteer, as well as adults.”

The children participate in five different activity stations geared towards learning about God and Catholicism. There will be games, crafts, music, snacks, and more. Participants also receive a free T-shirt for their involvement.

“It’s a great way for all of us to work together and share our faith with the children of our community,” Kande says.
