S e rv e “As I have done, so you must also do.” These were Christ’s words after He washed His apostles’ feet at the last supper. In this dramatic moment, Jesus called His followers to a life of humility and service. Helping others, especially the poor, is how we follow Christ’s command “to love your neighbor as yourself.” During our Stewardship Renewal, we are focusing on the importance of service and having the heart of a servant. A servant goes where his master leads and responds without hesitation, ready and willing to do the will of the Master. With the right disposition, we can be ready for action when opportunity arises. As many of us have discovered, service to others leads to peace and joy; we find that we are truly blessed when we give of ourselves. During this year’s Stewardship Renewal, let us turn to Christ for the grace to serve as He served and to love as He loved.

The Language of a Servant Prayer is the lifeblood of a true disciple of Christ. Without a healthy relationship with our Savior, we can’t hope to know His perfect will or the depths of His love. Take time in daily prayer with God, asking Him how you can best serve others. As you discern how God is calling you to give of your time this year, ask Him to transform your heart into that of a servant. Set aside intentional time each day to reflect on the readings of the Catholic Church found at www.usccb.org/bible/readings, asking God how He would have you apply them to your life. Spend five minutes each morning, thanking Him for the ways He has graciously blessed you and then asking Him for help with your struggles. Pray with your children each night before bed, giving each family member an opportunity to pray for something and concluding with an Our Father, Hail Mary and the Glory Be. Download and utilize Catholic phone and tablet apps, such as iBreviary, Magnificat, The Pope App or Divine Office.

The Actions of a Servant Talents are the gifts God has given us that enable us to serve Him. All of the talents or skills that we have can be used to give God glory and are equally important in His eyes. During this year’s Stewardship Renewal, consider your own talents and ask God how you can best use them to serve Him through His people. Pray about how the gifts God has given you can best be used to serve others. Use your Commitment Card to find a ministry that will help you grow personally in understanding the faith as well as serving others. Commit to being faithful to God through those you serve in word and deed.

TREASURE The Servant’s Gift
In just the same way that we have received the gifts of time and talent from God, so have we received our treasure. While many of us have worked hard to earn the money in our pockets, His gifts to us are what have enabled us to do so. In grateful appreciation for His gifts to us, we are called to give our best, our “first fruits”, back to Him. At our parish, we give to God in accordance with the scriptural tithe, and ask parishioners to give 5 percent of their income to God through the offertory, 4 percent to other charities, and 1 percent to the diocese. In this way, we entrust our plans and ourselves in a unique way to God and His providence in our lives. By placing Him first in our finances, we show Him that He is more important than any of the material goods we have in this world and give Him power over all in our lives.
Reasons to Tithe: Why give a percentage of income? We give because the tithe (which means 10% of one’s harvest or income) is a scriptural benchmark that the Church has honored for centuries (see Malachi 3:10).
Ways to Give Generously to God: Pray for guidance, wisdom, and trust as you make your financial commitment for the coming year. Commit to giving a percentage of your income to God through the parish offertory and be faithful to your tithing commitment, even when you attend Mass elsewhere. Consider setting up online giving on our parish website, tulsacathedral.com to make your giving easy and convenient.

H O S P I TA L I T Y MINISTRIES CALLED TO CARE
The hospitality ministry is a group comprised of teams who help with parish receptions, plan meals and cook for youth events, and assist with dinners and social events in the parish and other get-togethers. Contact: Maureen Petty
CALLED TO CARE TEAMS: FOOD AND FELLOWSHIP
Parishioners gather for conversation and fellowship over coffee and light breakfast offerings following the 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and 12 p.m. Masses. Volunteers are scheduled to help with set up, service, and/or clean up. This ministry is a wonderful opportunity to meet other parishioners. Contact: Robin Thoendel
MEAL TRAIN
This team is called upon to make meals for parishioners as they deal with major life events including birth, sickness and death. Anyone in need of this ministry can contact the Parish Office and then information will be passed along to the volunteers. Contact: Meghan Grayless

NEWCOMERS MINISTRY
This ministry team of hospitality promotes a welcoming atmosphere in the parish. They host welcoming events for new parishioners at the rectory. Contact: Maureen Petty
ST. ELIZABETH BAKERS
Share your love of baking by helping contribute cookies to parish functions. This team bakes at home or quarterly with other bakers to ensure there is always a supply of cookies for events. Contact: Kathleen Hobbs
P R AY E R MINISTRIES ADORATION AT HOLY FAMILY
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is offered at Holy Family Cathedral on Friday afternoons from 12:45 to 5 p.m. During this time, the faithful are welcome to come and go as they please, but we need at least two people committed to each hour to spend with our Lord. In addition to Friday afternoons, we also offer Adoration opportunities through St. John. Please consider committing to a regular hour with Jesus. Contact: Maureen Petty
BETHANY INTERCESSORS
This ministry offers the opportunity to share your time and prayers as an intercessor for the parish. Become a part of our parish prayer line to pray for the needs of parishioners, family, friends, leaders, and our world. The intercessors respond to prayer requests as they arise. This ministry is carried on via the internet. While there are no meetings, members will receive a monthly newsletter and an invitation to our annual retreat at the Cathedral. Contact: Cherie Hughes

CATHEDRAL FAMILIES
Cathedral Families is a ministry for all married couples and families to grow in fellowship, faith, and evangelization. We meet for casual, large-group gatherings that foster community within the parish family. For deeper friendships, intentional growth as disciples, and encouragement in our daily faith walks, we meet in small groups for men and women. Additionally, the Cathedral Families ministry fosters opportunities to integrate with the enlivening activities of our parish, such as Wednesdays at the Cathedral, Confraternity of Catholic Mothers, and Men’s Holy Hour. MARRIAGE MENTORS
Married couples who are excited to share the love and joys of marriage yet vulnerable enough to be open about trials and tribulations may be called to serve as Marriage Mentors. Marriage Mentors meet with engaged parishioners preparing for marriage at least five times prior to their wedding. Mentors help the couples come to a deeper appreciation of God, of themselves, and of their fiancé by topic-driven conversations. Contact: Dcn. J. Thomas
ST. JOAN OF ARC HEALING AND DELIVERANCE MINISTRY
This ministry exists to help carry out the healing and mission of Jesus Christ. Prayer teams consist of a prayer leader and an intercessor who meet with an individual for private prayer. Healing prayer can be requested for physical healing, emotional healing, or prayer for a deepening relationship with God. Team members are not counselors or healers, but are friends helping to bring the person closer to God and the healing touch of Jesus through the action of the Holy Spirit. Contact: Julie Chalabi
WEDNESDAYS AT THE CATHEDRAL
This adult faith formation offering will include snacks, wine and speaking with focus on topics ranging from prayer, Scripture, Church history, ethics, morality, etc. Important topics in our lives are discussed through the lens of faith. Men’s Ministries MEN’S HOLY HOUR
Holy Family’s men are invited to join Fr. Joshua for Holy Hour on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. followed by a social hour at 8:30 p.m. The group is open to all parish men and is dedicated to spiritual enrichment and fellowship. Contact: Dcn. J. Thomas
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
Membership is open to all practicing Catholic men. This group supports quarterly blood drives with American Red Cross, as well as other projects throughout the year. Women’s Ministries CONFRATERNITY OF CHRISTIAN MOTHERS
The Confraternity of Christian Mothers was founded in France over 150 years ago by lay women who sought to bring down blessings upon their families in the midst of an increasingly secularized culture. Members gather once a month to go to adoration/ confession/Mass, receive instruction and encouragement in their vocations as wives and mothers, share a meal together, and pray for each other and their families. They chose Mary, Mother of Sorrows, as their patroness. Contact: Karen Barrett
HFC WOMEN’S CLUB
Our Women’s Club is open to all female parishioners of Holy Family. Our mission is to promote spiritual and social fellowship, as well as Catholic education to the women attending

WALKING WITH PURPOSE BIBLE STUDY
Walking with Purpose is more than a women’s Bible study. It is an intergenerational faith community that supports, encourages, and challenges one another. SERVICE MINISTRIES Community Service Ministries BEREAVEMENT
This ministry is dedicated to helping families move through the mourning and funeral process. Members provide refreshments (as requested), logistics, and follow up with families in need of personal connection. They also host open forum discussions dealing with the grieving process. HOLY FAMILY CLASSICAL SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS
Can you offer your time and talent to assist with office tasks, projects, or other roles around the school? Volunteers and their preferred projects can be added to a list to call as needed or put on a regular schedule. Contact: Tristan McGill
HFC OFFICE VOLUNTEER
Office receptionists volunteer for three-hour shifts one day a week. The morning shift is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the afternoon shift is from 1 to 4 p.m. Volunteers answer the phone, help with office mailing, greet visitors, and assist with other administrative duties at the Parish and School Office. HFC OUTREACH PROGRAM
The Outreach Program is comprised of teams to assist with Tulsa-area individuals and families in need.
OUTREACH TEAMS: FAITH IN ACTION TEAM (FIAT)
An acronym for the Faith In Action Team, the FIAT ministry gives parishioners an opportunity to do hands-on service projects. Parishioners of all ages help with various projects. Contact: Tim Bart
HOUR OF MERCY
A group of volunteers meet after saying the Divine Mercy Chaplet Friday afternoons at 3 p.m. to distribute supplies to our neighbors in need. This group also meets after 8 a.m. Mass to gather and distribute supplies. Contact: Paul Louderback
HOLY STITCHERS
This group attends the baptismal garment ministry at the parish, creating garments for all little ones baptized at the parish. Additionally, a select few work on clerical alterations as needed. Contact: Kaye Ellis
HOME IMPROVEMENT MINISTRY
This ministry organizes parish workdays in support of parishioners who are in need of assistance with minor home repair due to age, mobility, finances, or other disabilities. This group also coordinates service days on the Holy Family Cathedral campus. Contact: Sam Stropes
OFFERTORY COUNTERS
Teams of four to five volunteers gather each Monday morning to count the weekly collection. Each team participates in a monthly rotation. Contact: Mary Keaney
ST. FRANCIS MINISTRY

As a sponsor you can help not only yourself but others to form both their hearts and minds in a deeper intimacy with Our Lord Jesus Christ in this Year of the Eucharist. If you are a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church and have received the Sacrament of Confirmation, then talk to us about journeying with someone — or — if you are just interested in learning, come and be a helper. PA R I S H LEADERSHIP BUILDING COMMITTEE
The Building Committee seeks parishioners with experience in buildings and ground maintenance to volunteer for general upkeep and repairs around the church, offices and rectory. STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL
The Stewardship Council assists the Rector by deliberating and acting on matters pertaining to the spiritual and educational affairs of the parish. This council invites you to share your gifts as a steward of God’s Church and to be a role model to parishioners on how to live our lives as Christ taught us, as His disciples.
