News from Our Parish: St. Boniface Catholic Church Feeds the Poor

We have never had the opportunity to have a food bank or a way to provide food donations to the community. That all changed about mid-April, thanks to the hard work and connections of Raul and Tracy DeLaGaraza.

Raul had been in touch with a Men’s Group, the Lila Lane Outreach/ Men’s Life Recovery Center in Athens, Texas. They have a large food bank — however, they also have a surplus of food. They are so gracious to bring that surplus to our little church in Chandler, Texas. We then dispense the food with an open-door policy — if you need it come, get it. Any extra that we have is donated to area churches.

Early in July, the Men’s Group brought boxes of flowers. There were too many for us to use, so the remainder were taken to the Chandler Nursing Center — they were able to put flowers in every room. We are so thankful and blessed!
