And that example to young men? ‘As iron sharpens iron, so one man must sharpen another’ (Proverbs 27:17).” -Thomas W., Hollis, NH Beginning the Saturday before Father’s Day in June 2021, 300 men gathered in Washington D.C. on four weeks notice to pray, witness, and proclaim the truth in the public square that abortion is not merely a “women’s issue,” but rather men have a grave responsibility to stand up and lead this movement to abolish the murder of our children and the exploitation of our sisters for profit.

The national event takes place multiple times each year in various U.S. cities and always begins with men gathering outside of an abortion killing center in prayer and raising up our touchstone of the four R’s: Face REALITY, Take RESPONSIBILITY, REPENT of what we have done and what we have not done, and make a new RESOLVE to do more and better, by God’s grace, than what we have done before. Men are encouraged to gather and march with their sons as an opportunity to train them up in virtue and authentic manhood.

The march is a prayerful, public witness and concludes with the Rally for Personhood that has developed to include women and daughters as an opportunity for entire families to stand up publicly together and provide a witness to the world of the equal dignity and complementarity of men and woman, as well as the beauty and goodness of marriage, fatherhood, motherhood, and family life.

The Simple Truth (Radio show and podcast) The National Men’s March to Abolish Abortion and Rally for Personhood flows forth from the Friday edition of The Simple Truth. The show is hosted by Jim Havens and airs Monday-Friday on The Station of the Cross Catholic Media Network, including the popular iCatholicRadio app. The Friday show, Friday with Father, is co-hosted by Fr. Stephen Imbarrato, and it was out of on- air discussions between Jim and Fr. Imbarrato that The Men’s March was sparked in 2021. Friday with Father on The Simple Truth continues to grow as a must listen every Friday for pro- lifers as it truly provides cutting edge pro-life commentary that you are not going to hear anywhere else and keeps the focus where it needs to be: the urgent need to abolish abortion now and pushing forward toward that goal.

Owner, Our Lady of Good Help Fertility Care Serving clients via telehealth

Providing the Creighton Model FertilityCare System as an effective and life-affirming way for single women and married couples to discover the truth of their reproductive health and embrace the gift of their fertility. As part of the program, married couples learn to identify their fertile and infertile days for either achieving or avoiding pregnancy. In addition, women and couples can also be referred to a Natural Procreative (NaPro) Technology Medical Consultant to treat reproductive health conditions and evaluate the underlying causes of infertility and miscarriage.

I teach the Creighton Model FertilityCare System, an evidence-based method of providing gynecological health education and charting menstrual cycles for women to monitor their fertility and for married couples to either achieve or avoid pregnancy. Once charting begins, I can refer, if needed, to Natural Procreative (NaPro) Technology Medical Consultants who can morally and effectively evaluate and treat reproductive health concerns identified on the chart.

I started this practice as a way to increase access to effective, life-affirming fertility care services. When I worked for the Archdiocese of Miami Respect Life Office, I counseled many pregnant women who were unsure of how their bodies worked, and, once they were postpartum, thought that contraception and sterilization were the only options, since their OBGYN offered these free with insurance. Though I counseled against it, my words made little difference to someone with free birth control pills or an already scheduled sterilization appointment. Therefore, my goal was to create a Catholic fertility care center where couples could receive accessible, effective, and life-affirming counseling, education, and care through a Catholic lens. That’s how I was inspired to start Our Lady of Good Help Fertility Care, after the only Marian approved apparition in the United States in Champion, Wisconsin.

The majority of my clients see me to achieve pregnancy. Therefore, my biggest impact has been with the infertility population which is rapidly increasing. I have several clients currently pregnant after experiencing infertility, pregnancy loss (miscarriage), or recurrent pregnancy loss

Besides achieving pregnancy, couples have also commented that this program has helped them grow in their spousal relationship, given them an intimate understanding of their body, and increased their confidence in the evaluation and maintenance of their own gynecological health.

I work with everyone regardless of ability to pay. This service is important for all women to understand their body and use their fertility for the glory of God. The education I give not only includes the science of fertility and how to read and record the signs of the woman’s body, but also the Catholic teaching on Periodic Abstinence and Infertility that the Church has handed down to us for our salvation. Our Lady of Good Help in her apparition said to the visionary, “Gather the children of this wild country and teach them what they need to know for salvation.” Therefore, I also encourage Marian devotion to all of my clients, especially through the Rosary.

My favorite devotion is Marian Devotion. St. Dominic said, “one day through the Rosary and the Scapular, Our Lady will save the world.” Later on when Our Lady introduced the Miraculous Medal to St. Catherine, the medal was also included in the trifecta: Rosary, Scapular, and Miraculous Medal. Saints devoted to the medal include St. Maximilian Kolbe and St. Mother Teresa. They witnessed radical conversions because of the medal. That’s why all of my clients receive a free handmade Rosary, made by my husband, and a Miraculous Medal for them to wear around the neck as Our Lady stipulated to St. Catherine. Consecrate yourselves to Mary. I tell everyone: place her first and God’s designs will be realized in your fertility and family.

Mrs. Berquist shared, “First of all, as a Catholic I know that the Faith informs every aspect of life. I heard a sermon once in which the priest said you breathe differently because you are Catholic. I think that is true. Everything we do should be done with our true end in mind.

I tell my students, frequently, that this life is very short. However long it is, it is very short. Eternity, on the other hand, is very, very long. Eternity is our true home and everything we do needs to be done with that goal in mind.

Not only getting there, but, as St John Henry Cardinal Newman says, making ‘new hearts’ that are focused on the things of heaven. That way, when the time comes, we will be entering a familiar place ready to take up our life there.

Also, my faith helps me not to worry too much. We want to do what God wants and He often reveals His will through circumstances. So I try to just put those circumstances into His hands and see them as His will. That doesn’t mean I don’t plan or don’t respond to a new circumstance by encouraging it or addressing it. But it does mean that I see this is all in God’s hands, it is His plan, and His plan is perfect. If my plan is not His plan, then I need to change.”

15 Promises of the Holy Rosary

The Church has had a special devotion to Our Lady as Mother of the Church and Mother of All since Our Lord told St. John to “Behold your Mother,” It is clear that the disciples loved Our Lady dearly, and St. John was with her until her Assumption.

Asking for the intercession of the Mother of God has long been practiced by Catholics, and the prayers of the Rosary are one beautiful way to ask for her prayers. During each decade, we meditate on one mystery from the life of Our Lord and we seek to draw near to Our Lady as the Mediatrix of All Graces in our needs and desires.

She shared some of the graces that one can obtain through a devotion to her Holy Rosary, and we will reflect on three of them today.

11. By the recitation of the Rosary you shall obtain all that you ask of me.

12. Those who propagate the holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.

13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of their death.

Promise number 11 is special, and becomes even more beautiful when the desires of one’s heart are aligned to the perfect Will of the Father. Seeing as all things are subject to His Will, this alignment can lead to miraculous spiritual fruit.

You see, when a heart belongs completely to Our Lady, the desires of that heart align with the Will of God. That heart will desire holiness and closeness to the Savior.

When this purity of heart and desire is achieved, the fulfillment of the eleventh promise is extraordinarily meaningful. If a soul asks to grow in holiness, to increase in devotion, and to do the Will of the Father, Our Lady obtaining those things for that soul will be the fulfillment of that heart’s desires.

A key takeaway could be regarding the importance of forming one’s heart and devotions in such a way that one’s requests of Our Lady would align with the Will of God. The twelfth promise is for aid in the necessities of those who propagate the Holy Rosary. Propagating the Rosary, in our understanding, is about spreading awareness of and promoting widely the practice of praying a minimum of five decades per day.

For those who choose to use their talents for this purpose, Our Lady promises her help for our necessities.

The thirteenth promise ends this section with the single best gift we poor sinners could ask for-- the intercession of the entire celestial court at the hour of our death. Our Heavenly Mother also obtained their help during life.

This section of the 15 Promises can be summarized as the practical help section of her promises. She says we can obtain all we ask of her, she will help us for our necessities, and we can have the whole celestial court as our intercessors during life and at the hour of our death.

When attempting to reach Heaven, these practical gifts can make the difference in reaching our Eternal goal. So be sure to pray the Rosary today, and everyday.

From the Christmastide Shopping Guide...

And in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God into a city of Galilee, called Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

And the angel being come in, said unto her: ‘Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.’ Who having heard, was troubled at his saying and thought with herself what manner of salutation this should be.

And the angel said to her: ‘Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found grace with God. Behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb and shalt bring forth a son: and thou shalt call his name Jesus. He shall be great and shall be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father: and he shall reign in the house of Jacob for ever. And of his kingdom there shall be no end.’

And Mary said to the angel: ‘How shall this be done, because I know not man?’

And the angel answering, said to her: ‘The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the most High shall overshadow thee. And therefore also the Holy which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. And behold thy cousin Elizabeth, she also hath conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her that is called barren: Because no word shall be impossible with God.’ And Mary said: ‘Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it done to me according to thy word.’ And the angel departed from her. Luke 1:26-38 Our Lady’s journey to Bethlehem began long ago, when the Angel Gabriel visited her. It is then that she is first called “Full of Grace,” and it’s then that she gave her fiat.

We celebrate the Annunciation on March 25, nine months before The Nativity of Our Lord. While both anatomically and liturgically accurate, the date falls outside of Advent, but it still merits to be the starting point of walking Advent with Our Blessed Mother, as she has been preparing for the Savior this whole time.

Let’s put ourselves in her shoes for just a moment. As a consecrated virgin, she knew the scriptures well. She was aware of the promise of a Savior.

She had lived a life free from sin, which was in all likelihood rather lonely, and she was betrothed to a wonderful man named Joseph. Things were going as they should, from all appearances.

Then, an angel appears. He greets her in a mysterious manner and asks her consent to be the Mother of God in a miraculous conception. Without hesitation, she says yes. An unconditional, fully aware fiat to what was a seemingly impossible reality.

Can you imagine Our Lady’s thoughts after the angel had departed from her?

We know that she quickly departed to go help her cousin, but for sure she was contemplating what had happened in her heart in the hours after the Annunciation. Do you think she was afraid? What about when she told St. Joseph? She had to have courage and face the reality of her fiat, even when it was hard.

Sometimes God asks us to do things that could seem unusual or even outrageous at the time. It can be easy to consider our circumstances, limitations or outward appearances before giving our answer to God. Of course prudence is advisable, but a properly formed conscience can make an unconditional fiat possible. May we follow Mary and give God our fiat this season.

Ultima Verba

An infant longs for his mother, and a mother longs for her baby, almost desperately. The infant relies on the mother entirely while in the womb, and almost entirely for the first several months after birth. In fact, the baby actually thinks he and his mother are the same person for a long time, and some cells from the baby’s body remain in the body of the mother for the rest of her life.

Mothers and their children are inextricably linked for all time, no matter what the culture is saying today.

We know that the love of Our Lady for her Son was unstained by original sin and therefore was the purest love of any mother. She was also obedient to Him, and

she did whatever He told her. She longs for us the same way a mother longs for her infant, because He asked her to, and she wants to provide for our needs in the same way.

Will you answer her call? Will you call to her for your needs and for her to comfort your heart?

This is the kind of loving relationship Our Lord called us to on Calvary. To Behold Our Mother is to embrace her, to love her, and to take her into our hearts and homes. To let our hearts be filled with love for her, Our Immaculate Catholic Owned Magazine 24 Mother.
