MATTEO ONORI & BROOKE JOINER Co-Founders, Catholic Owned with fraternal affection,
Catholic Owned exists to propagate Knowledge of, Devotion to, and Love & Admiration for the Immaculate Heart of Mary, in reparation for the many sins & blasphemies against her.
In practical terms, we are building the New Catholic Economy.
Over time, our community members can make fewer compromises and be more free to pursue ever greater devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Marywhat is known to be the sweetest path to sainthood.
Dear friends of Catholic Owned,
The month of June, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is also the month when our Blessed Mother is honored under the title Our Lady of Perpetual Help Her Feast day is June 27th
Numerous Parochial Churches and several countries, including Haiti, are dedicated under her patronage. June 27th commemorates the official date of the translation of the icon, ordered by Pope Pius IX in 1865, from the Augustinian friars in the Church of Santa Maria in Posterula to the new Church of St. Alphonsus of Ligouri. The Pope asked the Redemptorist community, saying: "Make her known."
There is a story that says the image had been stolen by a merchant sailing from the island of Crete to Rome. It remained in the private possession of the Roman family until it was transferred in 1499 to
the church of Saint Matteo where it remained for 300 years. This Church was later demolished during the French invasion in 1796 On May 27, the image was transferred and hidden in the Church in Posterula
Sancta Maria de Perpetuo Succursu is one of the many styles of iconography (Hodegetria) that originated in the middle Ages depicting Mary as the Mother of God showing the way. It is a simple representation where the Child Christ sits cradled by His mother's left arm while she points to Him with her right hand.
The Child is represented as frightened by the vision of the instruments of the crucifixion carried by the Archangels. The symbols show Mary wearing a dark red dress, the color of an Empress. Her blue mantle is the color of Virgins and gold in the background revealed through her represents the glory of God's Kingdom.
The icon shows Mary looking towards the faithful with a mild sadness in her eyes. Symbolism attached to the Child's sandal that is about to fall represents a soul that is in danger of getting lost but is saved by the devotion to our Lady
An ancient prayer from the 3rd century found on an Egyptian papyrus refers to Mary as the Holy Mother of God. "We fly to your patronage O Holy Mother of God," Sub tuum praesidium confugimus Sancta Dei Genetrix. Let us always turn to our Mother in all our necessities and seek refuge in her Immaculate Heart. As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I offer therapy sessions for individuals, couples, and families
While I can provide in-person sessions in Indianapolis, IN, I continue to add to the list of states where I’m licensed to provide virtual sessions (so please reach out to see if your state is on my list)! I also provide coaching based on my book Single Truth. For couples, I am trained in PREPARE/ENRICH, FOCUS/REFOCUS, SYMBIS (Save Your Marriage Before It Starts), and the Gottman Relationship Checkup I’m expanding my speaking opportunities and would be honored to share my message with your church, business, organization or event.
Through You Are More, LLC I bring faith to life and life to faith as I help individuals, couples, and families discover that they are not defined by their relationship status, job title, season in life, diagnosis, or any other box they feel stuck in I do this through counseling, speaking, and writing Ever since writing my book Single Truth: You are more than your relationship status, I wrote “You are more!” before every signature. When I received a nudge to leave group practice after 10 years, I felt inspired to expand this signature phrase into a full-time endeavor. Even if people do not work with me, I can encourage
them through the business name alone. Not only are we more than our labels that get us stuck, God is more than anything that we face.
I never imagined I would be single in my mid30’s, but because of that I have developed a passion to bring hope to those whose hearts ache in their single season Though I thoroughly enjoy working with couples and enriching relationship satisfaction, I find great purpose in connecting with the hearts of single people. In both types of sessions, I validate feelings and experiences while helping clients to discover the meaning in their story.
In addition to my MA in marriage and family therapy, I also hold an MA in Theology from Notre Dame via the Echo Program My experience of working in ministry informs the encounter I have with clients in the therapy room. Our hearts are restless until we rest in God and there’s a more qualified counselor than me in the room --- the Holy Spirit. The first words of my first counseling class were, “Be still and know that I am God.” I don’t have all the answers, but I can connect clients with the One who does Rarely do couples pray together so it’s been impactful for me to facilitate prayer in sessions to help them connect with God and one another more deeply.
St. Francis is my confirmation Saint and Assisi is one of my favorite places in the world. I get to take my fiancé there for our honeymoon later this year!
I’ve become more devoted to St. Joseph over the years and the 30 Day Prayer to St. Joseph never fails to astonish me!

Using our unique and successful risk management process, we actively manage small and large investment portfolios using currencies, bonds, stocks, and commodities
The selection of the right portfolio manager can make a world of difference for individuals and families
Saul A Padilla brings a unique expertise to his clients, and the result is peace of mind for them regardless of current market conditions
Saul’s experience began with several years at two of the main investment bankers in the country and a large international bank It was there that he realized that “no one around me had the interests of my clients in mind. The industry is full of conflicts of interest that no one seems able or willing to fix.”
Following a thoughtful period of four years, he discerned, along with his wife and confessor priest to resign from his employer and start Greenwich Creek Capital Management.
Since 2008, Saul has been helping bring his clients peace of mind. He shared, “At the beginning of a new relationship, as you would expect, clients are nervous if the stock market is experiencing volatility However, as time goes by and they get accustomed to see little or manageable change in the net value of their accounts during bear market cycles, they become very calm and relaxed Giving them peace of mind in terms of their investment portfolios is our goal This is the impact we see across the board, not just on one or two clients ”
For Saul, the impact on his clients and the drive to serve them comes from a greater purpose. “I cannot separate faith and business. I cannot operate in a certain way on Sunday and differently M-F My faith plays a big role in the business and is what motivated me to start GCCM It was a call to put talent to work for the benefit of others ”
Indeed, we are called to use our talents for the greater glory of God Saul mentioned his favorite reading from Matthew 25:14-30, “The Parable of the Talents.” In addition to his years of experience and education, he credits the Grace of God with his ability to innovate his unique risk management process that has captured every bear and bull market that has ensued since starting his firm.
“There is no doubt in my mind that if I was able to develop a highly efficient risk management process, it was due to the Grace of God and not the help of my employers or my own talent Somehow, the right books and research material helped me put together the core of our risk management process, which was fine-tuned by a couple of talented and very faithful collaborators, my daughter and her husband ” In closing, Saul shared about his devotion to the Immaculate Heart. “My wife and I are devoted to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and pray together the holy Rosary daily. We are strong believers that She is the way to heaven and Jesus. We attend Sunday and day of obligation mass as well as daily whenever possible. The latter, more my wife than myself.”

Fraternal
As an independent agent for the Catholic Order of Foresters, I help grow the faith by creating and executing fraternal outreach activities, while also helping protect the financial futures of Catholic families. I can do this all while transparently being truly Catholic in all my actions and deeds.
All of my work includes educational meetings with Catholics, aimed at helping them become financially bulletproof I pray before each meeting, asking the Holy Spirit to “reveal financial issues I can help with If there are none, please send me on to the next family “ This approach makes for a low pressure, high learning environment
With the Catholic Order of Foresters, the best quality and quantity of life insurance is within reach. In fact, in most cases, this peace-of-mind is available for less than what many will spend per week at the coffee shop. The impact on my clients is that they have peace of mind. Financial peace of mind for Catholic families who can rest assured that their spouse and children will not be impoverished if they were to pass away means they can focus on what’s important and be covered in case of disaster This is best illustrated with a simple math problem:
If one has a newborn in the home, that child will likely be living in that home about 20 years. That said, if someone is making $100K a year, if they died, to replace 20 years of lost income requires two million dollars
The life insurance policy would replace that lost income for the family In this example, we do not account for future potential increases for merit and inflation, though they are also worth considering.
The Catholic Order of Foresters makes this kind of coverage affordable for Catholic families As a non-profit fraternal benefit society, we exist ONLY for the purpose of serving our members. Because we have no shareholders to pay, we have some of the most affordable life insurance in the country for baptized Catholics and those married to them. COF doesn’t stop there
COF’s Investment Policy Statement mandates that the invested assets of the organization be managed in a manner that is consistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church For devout Catholics, this makes a significant difference.
Not only is there peace of mind financially, but there’s also peace of conscience. Our clients enjoy the benefits of knowing their family is protected, and that the funds are being managed without even a remote participation in evil You can read more about our investing policy by clicking here. Taking our commitment to the Catholic community a step further, COF offers a special benefit in which 5% of the face value of the policy will be committed to the insured’s favorite Catholic charity upon their passing at no cost to the insured or their beneficiaries. These gifts can make a significant difference for the charities, and we have careful requirements to ensure the charities are authentically Catholic
In addition, we provide a variety of fraternal outreach to serve and care for the Catholic community Programs include scholarships for homeschool, grade school, high school and college students, mission trips for those aged 18-24, Adopt-A-Seminarian, and other year-round efforts to feed people spiritually, physically and mentally. Spirituality Tap Ins are special events where COF sends a Priest or Deacon into a bar or coffee shop to deliver an evangelistic talk to the public
Serving Catholics is all that we do at COF
Please consider an appointment with me today I would love to show how COF could benefit your family now and for years to come This assessment is free and resulting coverages could cost less than your weekly coffee. I look forward to meeting virtually or in person during one of my monthly visits to South Florida, where I enjoy family and serving Catholic friends all year round.

The Nativity of St. John the Baptist is celebrated on June 24, exactly three months after the Annunciation and six months before the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Remember that the Angel Gabriel said that Elizabeth was in her sixth month of her pregnancy at the Annunciation. The child born today is the cousin of Our Lord, and God uses St John in many beautiful and meaningful moments in the story of the coming of the Word Incarnate
For example, the miraculous conception of St. John, given his parents’ advanced age and sterility. The Angel Gabriel had visited his father to let him know about God’s plan for him and his wife, who were just before God Sadly, Zachary did not believe him ”And the angel answering, said to him: I am Gabriel, who stand before God: and am sent to speak to thee, and to bring thee these good tidings. And behold, thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be able to speak until the day wherein these things shall come to pass, because thou hast not believed my words, which shall be fulfilled in their time ” -Luke 1:19-20
It was long foretold that this one crying out in the desert would “make straight the way of the Lord.”
It was, in fact St. John, who was the first one to announce that the Lord had come, after the Angel Gabriel, of course It was he who leapt in the womb of his mother at the sound of the voice of the Mother of God, and who was filled with the Holy Ghost in his mother’s womb. His birth, naming and circumcision were marked by Gabriel’s message being fulfilled. The name given to the child was from the angel and when they had named him, Zachary was filled with the Holy Ghost and prophesied: “And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways...” -Luke 1:76.
St. John is revered as a great light, the chosen one: “The Lord hath called me from the womb, from the bowels of my mother he hath been mindful of my name And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword: in the shadow of his hand he hath protected me, and hath made me as a chosen arrow: in his quiver he hath hidden me. And he said to me: Thou art my servant Israel, for in thee will I glory And now saith the Lord, that formed me from the womb to be his servant, that I may bring back Jacob unto him ” -Isaiah 49:1-5 He spent his years in the desert, striving to announce the coming of the Messiah, to convert the hearts of Israel to repentance so they would be ready when He did finally come St John the Baptist is of course the one who baptized Our Lord Jesus Christ, with the great voice from Heaven proclaiming Him as the Son of God. He also baptized many, many others, telling them that the one who will baptize with the Spirit
would be coming after him
We can imagine that St. John and Our Lord were close in childhood, and this is why we see many images of Our Blessed Mother and the Infant Jesus with St. John the Baptist as a toddler, or with his mother Elizabeth, too The cover of this magazine is one example where Our Blessed Mother appears to be caring for both Jesus and St. John.
Knowing this, the two grew up together, united by blood and in the Spirit. We also know that they were two of the three who were born without original sin. Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother were conceived without original sin, but St John was cleansed of it when the Holy Spirit filled his mother’s womb when Our Lady greeted her. Indeed he is a great saint from whom we can all learn.
St. John’s cry had always been for repentance, and it was this sharp sword that made him a martyr. When John reproved King Herod for his adultery, the brutal king imprisoned St John and beheaded him, a story documented in Biblical and secular historical accounts alike.
When Our Lord heard of this terrible tragedy, He went out into the wilderness to be alone. We can imagine it was because he was mourning his cousin, and also because His own Passion was one step closer with the martyrdom of His cousin However, the people followed Him, and this was the occasion of the feeding of the 5,000 with five loaves and two fish.
St. John the Baptist, pray for us!
St Therese of Lisieux (1873-1897)
"Jesus, help me to simplify my life by learning what you want me to be - and becoming that person"
St. Catherine of Sienna (1347-1380)
"He will provide the way and the means, such as you could never had imagined. Leave it all to Him, let go of yourself, lose yourself on the Cross, and you will find yourself entirely "
“The Precious Blood which we worship is the Blood which the Savior shed for us on Calvary and reassumed at His glorious Resurrection; it is the Blood which courses through the veins of His risen, glorified, living body at the right hand of God the Father in heaven; it is the Blood made present on our altars by the words of Consecration; it is the Blood which merited sanctifying grace for us and through it washes and beautifies our soul and inaugurates the beginning of eternal life in it."
Please notice the angels with small vessels in the painting striving to catch the Most Precious Blood as Our Lord suffers So valuable and salvific for all who desire to be saved is the Precious Blood-- poured out for us. May we grow in devotion to the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ!
For the Solemnity of the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and throughout the month of the Precious Blood, we can pray this beautiful prayer

Let us pray Almighty and eternal God, Thou hast appointed Thine only-begotten Son the Redeemer of the world and willed to be appeased by his blood.
