CHARLOTTE — All Catholics should respond when their religion is unfairly criticized or portrayed in the media, said William Donohue. “If the church is being attacked, we as Catholics have an obligation to defend it,” said Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights. Donohue was one of the speakers during the annual Catholic Leadership Conference held at a Charlotte hotel Sept. 11-12.
