CMN Member, Devozioni by Krystalos is a ministry-minded business located in Puerto Rico. They have launched an effort to help support the restoration of Catholic churches damaged in 2020. A portion of the sale of one of their best selling jewelry items, the bracelet dedicated to the Divine Child Jesus will be donated to help restore the beauty of Catholic churches that have suffered destructive acts of arson and vandalism.
A Passionate Purpose Joan Laureano, leader of Krystalos shares her vision for this mission. “Now our time has come to help fight back against the growing persecution towards Catholic Churches in the United States. As soon as the Churches that were attacked started asking for help and donations on social media to rebuild and repair the damage, I asked myself: Why are we just standing here, feeling sorry for ourselves? So I decided that Devozioni by Krystalos
needed to take a stand and do something to help activate our laity and defend our Churches. And that is why we are donating a portion of the sales of our Divine Child Historical Rosary Bracelet, one of our best sellers, to these Churches that need our help.� This assistance is urgent during these times in which donations have sharply declined because of the pandemic, at the same time that these attacks are taking place.

Joan said, “We are inspired by the efforts of Mother Angelica, whose favorite devotion was to the Divine Child Jesus. She fostered prayerful Catholic devotion, and the appreciation of beauty in Catholic Churches.” In Hanceville, Alabama, Mother Angelica dedicated the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament to the Divine Child Jesus. Visitors are welcomed by a statue on a base inscribed with the words, “And a Little Child shall lead them.” Isaiah 11:6. Joan added, “Since Mother Angelica’s mission was to magnify the spread and the strength of Faith around the world through the media, we want the Divine Child to be the guardian of this initiative.” The team at Krystalos not only hopes that their efforts will help restore damaged churches, but also they hope to assist the Little Child Jesus inviting Catholics, as communities recover after the pandemic in devotion and piety...to gather to pray together once again in churches everywhere.

In September, Karey Circosta took the helm as publisher and chief executive officer, succeeding Tom Grady, who retired after fifteen years. Circosta said she will continue the course set by Grady as Ave moves forward. Ave’s mission is expanding to integrate traditional publishing with a new digital outreach.
