Summer 2018
A Message from Susan Jandzinski, Executive Director It is hard to believe we are already half way through 2018 and summer is in full swing. This year has been a busy one already. In April, we made the final payment on our $1.2 million commitment for the Emergency Department. In May, we dedicated the newly engraved bricks and blocks in the John M. Repetski Healing Garden, and in June we held our annual golf event where golfers enjoyed a beautiful day at Legends on the Niagara golf course, all while supporting Kenmore Mercy Foundation. We are beginning to plan for our upcoming A Tribute to Angels event which will take place on Friday, November 16 at Salvatore’s Italian Gardens. Additional information will be forthcoming. So watch your mailbox and emails! This time of year, also kicks off our Annual Fund season. In the next few months, our friends, associates, physicians and local businesses will be asked to financially support Kenmore Mercy Hospital by making a donation to the Foundation. I would like to thank you in advance for making that commitment to our patients and our community. It is because of donors like you that we are able to support projects and programs along with purchase state of the art equipment to better serve our patients. Thank you for your generous and thoughtful support of Kenmore Mercy Foundation and Kenmore Mercy Hospital.

Ninth Leapfrog “A” Achieved Kenmore Mercy Hospital has maintained its “A” rating from The Leapfrog Group’s bi-annual Hospital Safety Grade Report for Spring 2018. This is the hospital’s ninth consecutive “A” since 2014. It is also the only hospital in New York State to earn nine consecutive “A” ratings. The Safety Grade assigns an “A, B, C, D or F” grade to hospitals across the country based on their performance in preventing medical errors, infections and other harms among patients in their care. The grades are calculated by “top patient safety experts” and are peer reviewed before release, according to Leapfrog.
