This edition of Spirit of Hope is full of stories of transformed lives. Your support made it all possible. We appreciate you!

A Message from the Regional Director
Jesse Boeckermann Western Region Director

Happy 2023! Thank you for an amazing 2022 at the Western Region Office (WRO) of Catholic Charities.
Nearly 19,000 people in need were served by Catholic Charities Diocese of Charlotte last year, thanks to supporters like you. The need is great, and your hearts, prayers, and generosity are so appreciated.
In this edition of our newsletter, you will meet a few new faces in our office, see the reach of programs offered in our office, and read two stories that highlight how the generosity of our donors, volunteers, staff, and the support of our local parishes work together to make a significant impact in the lives of those who are struggling in our community. Know that your support of the Spirit of Hope event, and the WRO office, makes these stories, and so much more, possible.
This year, Catholic Charities is also preparing to reopen our office in Murphy. Your continued financial support, volunteering, prayers, and promotion of the work of Catholic Charities have allowed us to increase our partnerships and reach throughout the 12 westernmost counties of North Carolina.
Thank you from the Western Region Office team of Catholic Charities.

Sincerely,
JesseWELCOME!
New Faces at the Western Regional Office

Nearly Double the Number of Families Blessed with Gifts this Christmas – Thanks to You!
Charities asked parishes to donate more gifts to address the overwhelming demand, they readily stepped up.

Catholic Charities Western Region Office
Serving the Westernmost Counties in North Carolina:
Thanks to the dedication of local parishes, volunteers, staff, and the overwhelming generosity of donors, 500 people (adults and children) in the western region received gifts to enhance their Christmas joy.

When a mother of a large family came to pick up Angel Tree gifts, she had tears in her eyes as she thanked volunteers, donors, and staff for their generosity to provide her children a special and joyous Christmas.
“There is no better way for me to spend Advent,” said volunteer Susan Loveland. “Many have participated countless years… others have recounted that they were past recipients and now enjoy the chance to treat someone else. There are truly blessings for everyone in this Angel Tree program.”
