A Message from the Regional Director

Piedmont Triad

Adopted by an Angel

This Christmas season, several local families were “adopted” by Angel Donors, proving that there are indeed angels on earth!

“It’s such a blessing,” one grateful participant said, with tears in her eyes, when she received multiple gift cards to provide food, clothing, and gifts to her five daughters.

343 Neighbors Blessed with “Cozy Bundles”

Welcome, 2023! Whewhow did we get here, and where did the time go?

The last 365 days have been a whirlwind of activities at the Piedmont Triad Office. In this newsletter, we share how your support of the Partners in Hope event has helped many individuals and families over the holiday season.

These stories highlight just a few of the many ways your gifts to the Partners in Hope event provide Catholic Charities with the necessary funds to offer services and distribute goods throughout the year to our neighbors in need here in the Piedmont Triad community.

Thank you for your generosity during the Partners in Hope event and partnership with our ministry of charity.

I wish each of you a very blessed 2023.

“I have had over 15 surgeries because of a car accident, and I have not been able to work. Because of you, I can provide my girls with a happy Christmas.”

Angel Donors work with Catholic Charities to identify local families facing great personal and financial hardships so they can “adopt” them by providing items from their wish lists and much-needed financial relief and extra cheer during the holiday season.

The generosity of these Angels is a true blessing –gifting these families with unexpected joy, hope, and gratitude for the kindness of strangers lifting them up in a time of need.

Your gifts help support these local programs and services in the Piedmont Triad Region

The Christmas season is a magical time that brings out the generosity and kindness of strangers and friends alike. Early in December, supporters like you helped Catholic Charities provide a “Cozy Bundle” event that welcomed our neighbors from the community to stop by our Piedmont Triad office in Winston-Salem to create their very own “Cozy Bundle” by picking out books, blankets, pajamas, hats, gloves, and coats for themselves or their loved ones. This event was co-sponsored by several community organizations, including fellow nonprofit SPARK (Share Peace And Rekindle Kindness). After shopping at the Cozy Bundles event, the attendees enjoyed a delicious, warm meal provided by New

Light Missionary Baptist Church, located directly across the street from the Catholic Charities office.

Your support blessed 343 adults and children with a “Cozy Bundle” to help them stay warm during the wintry months and cozy up with a good book. This event was a wonderful way to distribute these cozy items to our neighbors and unite many caring organizations that help make a difference in our community. What an excellent start to celebrating the Christmas season! Many thanks to our donors, community partners, staff, and volunteers for making this event possible.

Holiday Season Brighter for More Than 165 Families

We are so grateful for the continued support of the leadership and parishioners of Holy Family, St. Leo the Great, and St. Pius X Catholic Churches, who collectively helped provide food, gifts, toys, and gift cards to more than 165 families in need in Greensboro and the surrounding Piedmont Triad communities.

Each year these parishes volunteer to support families that Catholic Charities work with

throughout the year right here in the local community to help make their holiday season a little brighter.

We are fortunate to have these dedicated parishes, parishioners, and supporters like you to make this work possible in our community. Thank you for bringing extra joy to struggling families in Greensboro and the rest of the Piedmont Triad area - it means so much to us and those we serve!
