All Shook Up Staff and students are gearing up for their bi-annual show All Shook Up which will be performed at the Civic Theatre on 22-23 April. After almost six months of rehearsals, the cast of 43 students,13 musicians and the support crew are looking forward to rocking the audience with familiar Elvis songs, 80+ costumes and a great story which explores the fickleness of love triangles and the importance of following your dream and being true to yourself. This crowd-pleasing musical will have you jumpin’ out of your blue suede shoes with such classics as Heartbreak Hotel, Jailhouse Rock and Don’t Be Cruel. To support our students, and to simply have a rocking, entertaining night, search ‘All Shook Up’ on the Townsville TicketShop site. School news 2022 Despite a delayed start to the school year, students were pleased to get back into their classrooms on 7 February and get straight into the busy curricular and cocurricular life of the school. The year has seen a record enrolment figure of 1085 students, with 134 boarders. Most of the growth has occurred in the Junior School, with some year levels at full capacity. Students in the Middle and Senior School are operating around a major building site which, when completed, will provide a new state-of-the-art library, three refurbished classrooms (including one STEM space) and the old library refurbished into a new staffroom. School Reunion Get your friends together for the annual school reunion weekend on 22-23 July. Foundation Day will be celebrated by the school community on Friday with a school service and the highly anticipated Lagoon Dash, followed by the Sundowner by the Lagoon – a great opportunity for past students and current school families to relax and mingle with drinks and finger food. On Saturday we will host a school tour and the traditional Reunion Dinner, and the Touch Football and Netball Challenge will be on Sunday afternoon. We look forward to welcoming you to this year’s reunion weekend, hopefully without Covid disruptions to planned events.
