SPORTS PROGRAMME SATURDAY 24 FEBRUARY 2018
@CaterhamSport
Dear Parents and Players I offer parents, players, staff and official a very warm welcome to Caterham School. I hope that there are many closely fought encounters today and that all pupils involved go away enriched by their physical endeavours. While striving to win is vitally important, it is not more important than the sportsmanship and friendship that make sport so special and such an integral part of the education that we offer our pupils. With that in mind I hope that all matches today are played in the positive atmosphere that they should be. I remind all of us that we are all responsible for ensuring that the pupils are supported at all times. Please let us all applaud good play from both teams, offer our congratulations to the victors but also acknowledge the efforts of the losers. I have no doubt that every pupil will give their all today and that each and every one of them deserve our praise and support. We hope that you enjoy the hospitality on offer today at Caterham. We aim to make you feel as welcome as possible and to give you the best possible experience of the school. Yours in sport, Rob Clarke, Director of Sport
A message from the Head of Lacrosse, Jen Simpson A warm welcome to Putney High School for the last block fixtures of the year. The 1st XII, 2nd XII, U15A&B, U14A, U13A&B, U12A,B&C will all be in action today. Putney High has always proved to be tough competition and very evenly matched across all age groups. Good luck to all players in the matches today, looking forward to some very close matches in preparation for the upcoming National School’s and Coloma Cup tournaments!
A message from the Heads of Hockey, Rob Mugridge and Peter Friend Welcome to the second half of the hockey term. Today, we welcome local rivals and friends Trinity School in what is expected to be a challenging set of fixtures. I hope staff, parents and pupils enjoy their games and hospitality here at Caterham School. This week our focus has been on elimination and ball carrying. The coaches have been thoroughly impressed with the attitude of the boys and real progress is starting to be made! I am sure the boys with relish the opportunity to demonstrate their talents on the pitch today and look to implement the patterns of play and skills they have been working on in training prior to the half term break. I have no doubt that the contests will be played in a superb spirit and, as always, best of luck to all pupils and staff today.

Code of Conduct At Caterham School we ask all spectators to: 1) Encourage players to learn the rules and play within them. 2) Discourage unfair play and arguing with officials. 3) Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding good performance by all players. 4) Avoid belittling players for losing or making mistakes. 5) Accept the judgements of officials and recognise that they have a difficult job. 6) Support all players’ involvement and help them to enjoy the game. 7) Use correct and decent language at all times.
We love dogs - but please keep four-legged friends on a lead whilst on the School site and Hill Fields sports grounds. Unfortunately, where dogs go off-lead onto pitches foxes follow their scent and may mess the pitches. Thank you!
