hen you hear the word corset, you might immediately think of Bridgerton or awesome TikToks making 18th century inspired outfits. The corsets from Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault, the duo behind London brand Knwls, couldn’t be more different. Their eye-strap corsets and mesh, leather and viscose tops are more fierce than fantastic, boasting celebrity fans like Kim Kardashian West, Bella Hadid and Kaia Gerber. These endorsements partly explain why it’s been impossible to get a Knwls corset this year, but it’s also down to Knowles and Arsenault’s precise tailoring. While other fashion brands might compromise on quality or fit for sexy, unapologetic designs, Knwls does. “When you hear the word corset, you might immediately think of Bridgerton or awesome TikToks making 18th century inspired outfits. erhaps right now when the words leather jacket are uttered, what comes to mind are those slightly oversized black leather blazers, loaded with reminiscences of the 90s and recent fashion: their place in the collections of popular brands. and for daily use has not stopped growing, at the same time as its prominence in street style. Even stylists and experts like Alex Carl, with a hyper-stable style in which variations barely have a place other than accessories (as she told Vogue. es in her 7 days/7 looks), has included one in her wardrobe. However, until the trend took the leap thanks to various firms that revisited the decade of grunge and minimalism, what came to mind when talking about a leather jacket was a biker or perfect.

That lifelong black jacket that emerged in 1900 for army aviators to protect themselves against the cold and that shortly after the Schott brothers redesigned on behalf of some motorcyclists. That is to say, that jacket that treasures a great history and that has set aesthetic milestones in the fashion industry, even getting into a good number of houses and that, perhaps, is hanging in your closet right now. So if in recent times it had been slightly reviled, it’s time to dust it off and give it back all the shine it deserves. Or at least, that is the impression one gets after seeing some of the autumn-winter 2021/2022 proposals. One of the collections in which more and better different versions of the leather jacket have been seen is that of Simone Rocha. The designer, who has presented her autumn-winter looks at London Fashion Week, has inspired a certain college aesthetic that is entangled with the fragility and rebelliousness of adolescence. An equation in which voluminous short skirts are completed with jackets with puffed sleeves, a twist on the traditional ones. Another modification? Its length, which flirts with the waist line. That length has also been seen in Khaite’s proposal, in which the outer garments have been dominant (with the permission of the necklines) due to its setting in the streets of New York. Thus, along with the XL coats, various models of jackets have appeared that, in several cases, are finished off with furry collars and long fur, adding greater dimension and texture to the outfits.

or decades, blazers, also known as suit jackets, were considered to be just part of men’s wardrobes. And while suits have been worn by women for about 150 years, it wasn’t until the last decade that they became a part of everyday life for many of us. This was possible thanks to thousands of designers and fashion icons around the world, so the blazer became a key piece in the wardrobe of thousands of women, giving them a powerful look full of attitude. In 1870, actress Sarah Bernhardt caused enormous controversy when she decided to wear a tailored suit to appear in a self-portrait. By the end of the 20th century, it was more common for women to wear long skirts with a beautiful fitted blazer. After several seasons of fame, blazers in oversized volumes are back once again. Remember that for this trend to work, you must choose a size that is in correct proportion to your body so that you can achieve the desired effect. Jacquemus proposes to use this trend with a simple top underneath, to give the jacket the main focus of the outfit.
