To my bandmates, we’ve been through so much and we’re about to do so much more. To my family and wife for their constant support. I couldn’t do this without you.
Breakdowns brought us here.

Black Clothes evolved from a need for self-expression for Colton Bennett, one of the founding members of deathcore band, AngelMaker.
Combining influences from black metal, hardcore, slam, and death metal Bennett’s project is a genre-bending leap into the unknown.
olive branches overextending// bending and cracking// like brittle arms mummified from years of abuse// I’ll hold your hand as you tie the noose// tie the fucking noose// into nothingness when the love is gone// glistening sparkles fade to specks of dirt// sugar sours to vinegar// what was sweet is now bitter// the layered veils of passion and flavour peel// and fade into nothingness// I will get over this//
be strong my hand// my pulse running thin// overthrowing, overthrown// the sky is dark, lost in avv mist// we stand up against the tyrant king// mutiny in the black abyss// as I look over the edge// I see only blackness// empty hearts receding// broken and unfeeling// a final blow// cold steel breaking skin// your time is over// our time begins
memories// opulent and fading// linger like a restless ghost// with a purpose unfulfilled// the ones of you I tried to kill// crystalline images blur and fog// blur and fog// destitute aspirations like dwindling apparitions// hopelessly and endlessly//
a taste of victory// smooth, yet bittersweet// roses decorate your headstone// your words, they taste like irony// we fought and we played for victory// I won’t go back there// you can’t put me back to sleep// we thought we were immortal// but those were lies you sold for cheap// no parting words// now you’re six feet deep racing away// wind strong at our backs// a dragon slain// the battle is won// as we go forward, our swords held high// e ervenscent euphoria yet a silent foreboding// as we follow our path forward// brilliant and shining sun// we understand the price of what has been done
