Newsletter 9th October 2026
Head’s Note Dear Parents, This week, we have welcomed eight prospective families. It is always a privilege to see our school through someone else's eyes and to hear their first impressions. Every family who visited commented on how polite and courteous our pupils are. They noticed children holding doors open for others, standing up when the visitor entered the room and offering a cheerful 'good morning' as they pass. These may seem like small gestures, but they speak volumes about the character of our children and the culture we are building at Castle Court. Courtesy is about so much more than good manners, it is about respect, recognising the worth of others and making people feel valued and seen. A simple greeting, a thoughtful gesture or a genuine thank you can make a real difference. That is why courtesy is one of our 7Cs values and is an essential quality at the heart of what it means to be a Castellan. This week has been an extremely busy one with numerous sports matches and tournaments. A special mention to our U13A Girls' Hockey team who were runners up in the Dorset County Finals and have secured their place in the Regional Finals. Pupils from our senior section represented Castle Court brilliantly at the Canford Geography Quiz, while Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed reenacting the Great Fire of London and learning about this historical event. Year 4 had a wonderful visit to Kingston Lacy and were commended by a member of the public for being so polite and well-behaved. Thank you, too, to all our children and parents for ensuring everyone looked so smart for school photographs, on both days. I look forward to sharing the photographs with you. The busyness continues next week, with a range of exciting events across the different year groups. I am particularly looking forward to Pre-Prep's Awesome Autumn Day on Wednesday, and I hope to see many of you at the Year 1 and 2 Sponsored Walk on Thursday afternoon. Finally, I would like to share a message of thanks I received from the Corfe Mullen Foodbank following your generous donations at our Harvest Service: "On behalf of our Foodbank, we would like to say a big thank you for your latest donation of food. Your school has been unfailing in supporting us in many different ways, and in these difficult times you continue to give us what we need. This year has been much busier than last year and we expect to help even more families as they struggle with the impending price rises. It makes your help even more appreciated. Please thank everyone who helped." Thank you once again for your kindness and generosity. It is wonderful to see our school community living out the values we seek to instil in our children every day. Wishing you and your families a wonderful weekend Katie

Head’s Awards are given out every Friday morning in assembly to children nominated by their class teacher or form tutor. The reasons for these are many and varied, including outstanding effort, overcoming difficulty, or helping a friend in need. A huge congratulations for their efforts goes to these children.

MINI MODEL UNITED NATIONS Last week we took part in the Mini Model United Nations held at Bryanston. Some of our Year 7 and 8 pupils have been working incredibly hard to tackle some of the world’s most pressing issues, taking part in an international debate where local schools represented countries from across the globe. We were thrilled to receive three Highly Commended awards for our delegates in the UNHRC and UNSC, representing Nigeria and the United Kingdom. Experiences like this teach our pupils far more than knowledge alone. They encourage them to become active global citizens, seeking solutions to complex challenges, while developing resilience, confidence and a genuine understanding of the importance of diplomacy and collaboration. To all of our Year 7 and 8 pupils who took part — we couldn’t be prouder of you!
U13A FOOTBALL
Our U13A boys are getting a taste of professional football this week, taking on three matches and a tournament! They have worked incredibly hard, showing fantastic grit, determination and resilience throughout a demanding week. We are incredibly proud of their commitment and team spirit!
