PART 1 WHO ROCKED IT THIS YEAR?

THE CASTHEADS NOMINEES FOR THE MODEL CAR HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2025 REVEALED

VOL.07

10 ALSO : INNO64 REIGNS WITH GOLDEN POWERS | AUTOWORLD CONJURES A DEMON | REVEALING PICTURES

LV-N Metropolis 05 Nissan Fairlady Z

It’s the star car of the TV DRAMA “Daitokai Part 3” broadcast in 1978. The plot of the show was dropping bad guys to the funkiest music you would find in Japanese TV series, and they were driving classic cop cars like this. The intro to the show starts of with this very Datsun leading a charge of cop cars down a wide street. Absolutely epic!

LV-N355b Toyota

Crown Estate

Estates seem to be trending these days so why not add some classic TOYOTA into the mix. A sleeper wagon with an engine capacity of 280Hp known as the Crown Athlete V. A combination of luxury, performance and efficiency from an inline 6 motor. This is a new tooling from TLVN and will be dropped in two colour variations.

SNEAK PEEK

Saw some upcoming media shots for Round2 1/64 scale cars and I was literally on OMG level. From the crazy lines ups we can expect over the next few months these were just some of my picks that got me super excited. The Jeep Wrangler in red with The Firestone branding, That Dark Red Trans Am in going to have Pontiac fans scrambling, then MOSSY OAK Silverado with the Mossy Oak camo and finally a POLARIS Branded 2006 Silverado in Black with the RZR logo looks slick. These are just a few of the fav’s that will hit our collections soon.

Johnny Lightning is going to be giving us some RX-7’s and the card art is killer. I am going to need doubles of both castings to keep the card intact. A stunning art rendition of a Wankel Engine. Guys over at Johnny Lightning can we please have posters of these.

NEW TINS NEW SHADES!

Diorama collectors, fans, lend New tin series coming in and ROUND2 is fixing to be blitzing us with some crazy casting in crazy shades. The Malibu Chevelle in Orange and the FORD F-150 in the shade IRIS POLY is bringing genuine tears to my eyes. Is it just me or is everything just getting better and better?

Mercedes BENZ AMG GT Black Series

Never short of landing us with some gorgeous Mercedes, TW is back at it with the Green Monster in 1/64 scale. The AMG GT in a beautiful metallic green shade perfect for lining up the rest of the BLACK series from Tarmac Works. You also have the chance at a Chase Version as well.

A new AGERA RS and with full body carbon fibre stamping and red highlights. A few pages in and you will see why the AGERA RS is so loved in the office especially the casting that Tarmac Works keeps doing. This is coming up, so you better get pre-ordering.

Koenigsegg AGERA RS

verfügbar ab september 2025!

More chances to try your luck at pulling one of those VHTF cards. Tarmac Cards has taken ASIA by storm and slowly making its way through the UK market. There are a few places you can pick them up in the UK. And its always double the pleasure getting a gorgeous car to go with them.

Koenigsegg REGERA

Aston Martin have found themselves some radical designers and are trying very hard to create the most aggressive and alien looking car on the planet. But also, at the same time these are beautiful monsters to look at. The Valour looks like Aston Martin turned the tables on FORD and stole the MUSTANG BOSS 302 gave it a British air of arrogance and put it on a far better shaped body. Then they painted it purple. And people threw money at it. This is the same reason why you will throw money at this amazing 1:18 scale version by GT Spirit.

ASTON MARTIN VALOUR GR

1:12 PORSCHE

stripes is going to make up for all your bad days. You can buy happiness and usually it would be from a place that stocks GT Spirit’s latest stock of gorgeous resin cars. And

except on the face of someone who just wrecked one. Immaculate details, we know because we have seen many 1:12 scale cars from these guys and none of them have ever let us down.

SUPRA GT4

is planning on taken the battle to all Resin makers of tuner cars. This is not the first and certainly not the last. In the coming few months we are going to see some amazing modified and tuned cars like the stunning GT4 GR Supra

perfect next to the ADVAN GR SUPRA that GT SPIRIT did a few months ago and we said would give IGNITION a run for cover. Otto Mobile is following close behind.

I CONQUER I PORSCHE

CONQUER

PORSCHE 911 DAKKAR (992) RALLYE DESIGN PACKAGE

Enter the conqueror, the car that has been enjoying a year of fantastic success, bringing glory to the PORSCHE Badge.

A tribute to the 911’s history of ‘biting off more than it can chew, finishes and returns for seconds’ attitude

at a time when sports car makers want to engage customers at every level, looking for supercar off-road experiences.

If the car does not have a decent paint finish, This year, in terms of diecast, a few brands have added the updated 911 (992) Dakkar Version to their release lineups, and, of course, the reactions have been expected. Hot Wheels had theirs snapped up, but not so much by scalpers. MINI GT Fans made sure almost everything was pre-ordered, and then Sparky sent me a double pack of 992s that also contains their version of the Dakkar tribute aka the ‘The RoughRoads’ theme.

Detail: The speed at which the 1/64 market is growing, both in terms of supply AND demand, leaves no room for stragglers still mucking about with average to less than average detail. For SPARKY to remain in the running, they have to make sure they don’t drop the ball. They are not the only ones there with this exact cast. In my opinion, they delivered. Using a few new tricks, this old dog discovered, in terms of global consensus, looking at both detail and price, THIS COMES IN SECOND PLACE!

Lensed lights on black give the plastic lights a smoky appearance while catching external lights, making it look like the lights are actually lit. Honestly, for a USD 5 reduction in retail compared to the model that takes the number one spot, and only about 25% less detail, it is a killer bargain. (Yes, when competition and choice are this high, we are looking at Formula 1-type margins.) What’s interesting is that SPARKY, as a brand, knows precisely what its focus is and is sticking to it. Teaming up with TINY HK has certainly improved their final product in leaps and bounds; they haven’t tried experimenting with the lineup, and the love for the genre they cater to is growing massively. Like the 911, they won’t stop trying until they conquer.

DRAGON OF DIECAST CHASING THE

OF DIECAST

After a few weeks of not receiving any parcels from delivery personnel and not having new boxes to open, I started to feel anxious. The addictive nature in me misses the serotonin high of opening a new diecast model, if only to enjoy it for a few minutes and then put it into storage with the hundreds of other diecast models in my in-box. That is why these dualbox die-cast packs from Sparky are an absolute joy. Really!

I actually stagger the opening of both boxes by a few days (maybe I’m strange, but opening a new scale model, whether bought or sent as a sample, is a sacred experience that requires time for attention). Right?!?!

Another reason this is great is that in Motorsport, everything usually comes in pairs. And sometimes it’s a little irritating how some casting from the Motorsport genre gets released. Still, you never see the teammate’s car get the same attention, which is a shame and a cause for minor irritation to pedantic collectors like me who like collecting in teams. Now I know these are two tribute cars, but because of this style of presentation and packaging, as well as their focus on Motorsport, SPARKY is brilliant at giving collectors the option of getting both cars in a box.

A much cleaner-looking version, with no roof rack and luggage, makes this one of my favourite castings all round. This actually helps SPARKY because the lack of ‘famous’ livery helps the body details stand out, such as the metal plating on the underside, and compared to their closest rival in terms of casting, SPARKY seems to have the better ride height, in terms of looking like a ‘crossover’.

However, I will give the ‘other’ brand the benefit of the doubt and say that they have considered the weight of the roof rack and luggage for accuracy’s sake, which is why their 992 rides a fraction lower. Again, though, with the F1 margins.

I have taken plenty of extensive pictures, and as you can see, for collectors, the ‘time is now’ because 15 years ago, this was not the case. Fifteen years ago, we didn’t have the technology we have today, which gives production units more control over output at scale. Technology continues to improve, getting better and better. In the meantime, add this set to your collection. This is a bargain in terms of car choice, livery, detail, and price.

GOLDEN POWERS REIGNS

POWERS JAPANESE MODERN CLASSICS

It has been a strange year for licensing, and there seem to be a few repeat releases from differing manufacturers. This isn’t a problem for most Asian collectors, who base their purchase decisions on brand loyalty far more than US, UK, and European collectors, who tend to prefer Hot Wheels. But as the interest in the US, UK, and Europe increases for more detailed 1/64, the big question remains: which to buy?

Well, INNO64 throws in excellent contenders. They have been the masters of GT-R castings starting from the 32 to the 35, AND they have the TOP SECRET License, which means you can get yourself the range of TOP SECRET cars if you are a hardcore NAGATA fan.

Carbon Fibre details, titanium fired exhaust tips, 3-piece wheel rims for extra depth, moulded aero side mirrors instead of standard rubber generic designed versions and finally a matt gold that looks rich, illuminates in the right way and feels like a proper number of coats to keep it rich and glossy for a while.

Both of these simultaneously released golden cars are a dream to have for collectors and most certainly look great together with the TOP SECRET R35 making an appearance very soon. Obviously, TS fans are taking this news really

NAGATA

For our US readers who are particularly discerning, considering the additional tariff rates, there is no need to go insane by trying to own multiple brands. In THIS case, INNO64 have got a hold on the market.

BALLER

HAULER

FEAT. SPECIALE GUEST JOHN WICK'S SS CHEVELLE

JEEP CHEROKEE XJ WITH TOW DOLLY

Johnny Lightning sweetens our collection of trucks and hauliers with every release of their TOW & GO Range. Bang on with loads of details, jacked up with a really nice paint design and a tow dolly with ramps to add in another JL favourite.

The first thing to catch your eye with this casting is the custom dark camo style graphics, which are both unique and very apt for the vehicle in question, which is a JEEP Cherokee XJ and was America’s answer to the TOYOTA HILUX when it came to reliability and dominion over the rough American Terrain. And it comes as no surprise that this was chosen to represent a 4x4 utility and rescue vehicle that comes combined with a ‘rescue’ tow dolly.

The casting comes with a very nice set of large rubber wheels branded BF GOODRICH ALL TERRAIN, and a loaded roof rack. For budget restrictions, the items on the roof rack are joined as a single piece and then painted. For me, this is brilliant because, as much as I like the highly detailed roof racks on more expensive 1/64 models, the accessories tend to get lost and get unglued, leaving me with an empty roof rack on my hands and knees looking for a fairy-sized briefcase.

Engine details are apparent under JL’s opening hood, but the Cherokee XJ didn’t have an exciting engine to look at: no shiny chrome-plated big blocks, or branded air filters, or branded GReddy Oil coolers. There is, however, a winch in the front with two red tow hooks mounted on what looks to be an ‘ARMADILLO’ crash bar.

The Tow Dolly is simple enough, accompanied by two silver ramps. Gloss black finish with grey wheels arches isn’t loud and bright, but neither is the job. It does come with a free-standing screw stand, but that is the standard with all JL towed trailers.

Overall, this is an excellent casting with numerous fantastic features that will appeal to collectors ordering it for their Hauliers and Trucks display.

CHARGED AND READY

Brand new tooling of the 2023 Charger running a revised spoiler and hood scoop, and the only other place you’ve seen it is on the alternate release, which comes in Plum Crazy. Personally, it looks stunning in this colour known as SUBLIME, even though I have always been a fan of Dodge’s PLUM CRAZY factory colour.

Now we can explore the route of paint, detail, and all the usual aspects that we’ve discussed for years for millions of diecast models. Ok, so we’ll do the obvious ones— Limited Edition Autoworld style. We estimate that there are approximately 5,000 worldwide. But it could be more. Whole metal body, rubber wheels, detailed alloys, lovely paint coded from the factory, the standard stuff.

However, put it in a garage diorama outdoors with natural light, no roof, and the car makes a fantastic piece for photography. I have been doing diecast photography ever since the magazine started, and it never gets old. Even if the casting is a repeat with a colour variation, it still offers a new perspective.

2023 DODGE CHARGER R/T SCAT PACK SWINGER

For example, in this composition, the green looks stunning against the blue walls of our CastHeads showroom garage.

With accessories, I have had a lot of success with American Diorama figures because they’re die-cast metal, which allows them to stand and balance better, especially in outdoor settings, as resin or plastic tend to fall over with a slight gust of wind.

A combination of garage tools from various brands, as well as American Diorama, really helps make up the sort of space a photographer would like to highlight the Charger. And with its opening parts and semi-detailed engine, there is a lot to look forward to with these models for diecast photographers and enthusiasts.

It’s also always good to have other models by the same brand to help complete the picture. Here we have a 2021 Dodge Charger from Autoworld in dark red, filling up essential garage space.

DODGE CORONET R/T

SuperSeasonBee

Bee 426 Hemi Season

Super impressed and super in love with these Coronets. This is not JL’s first casting of the Coronet, but for a newcomer, I can totally recommend getting these.

What a great-looking car, and such a sleek reproduction of it in 1/64 scale. This is a really photogenic casting, and both collectors and photographers take note. There is a lot of great stuff going on with this car. I really enjoyed working with this as a model, especially outdoors, where the angles and edges of the vehicle get caught by

the sun. These are also really nice cars to capture in a situation with environmental accessories like diorama buildings, and of course, using our favourite brand of grass mats by BUSCH.

For those of you new to collecting gigs and starting your journey into model car collecting, let’s save you some time in research. The Super Bee refers to the lines you see on all Scat Pack-rated Dodge cars.

The scat pack cars are part of Dodge’s highperformance series or pack of vehicles, and they can be identified by the R/T badge found within the bee stripes on the rear of the car. This stands for Road / Track, which means down to the shop for milk and then to the Drag strip for some ¼ mile fun.

When it comes to representing America’s muscular auto’s the Dodge Coronet Scat Pack is one of the perfect poster models for the category. One of the most incredible rides you could have then and now.

Brand new from Johnny Lightning Muscle Cars USA, both in Poly Shades of Silver and Copper are the recent additions to their Coronet lineup, and as far as I’m concerned, they are bloody brilliant.

The F One 50 Legend lives on...

Every era of FORD has an F-150. It’s a standard and will probably have a release till the day FORD liquidates and dies, which will probably never happen. What does this mean for us collectors?

A never-ending collection of FORD pick-up trucks! The pick-up truck collectors are wringing their hands in happiness because Auto World keeps banging these babies out in all colours and trims available to the real man’s man.

Decked out in Velocity Blue I would be honest with y’all right now, if my girlfriend ran off with another diecast collector stealing this truck, I would definitely use AI to write me a country and western song to describe precisely how I would feel. I mean, be reasonable. Would you want this beautiful Velocity Blue F-150 taken away from you with the open hood and the dropping down tailgate? To top it all, it’s the ‘Black Appearance Package’,

Black wheels: Gloss black or dark-finished wheels are a signature feature.

Black badging and decals: Ford emblems, model names (like “F-150”), and other badges are replaced with black versions.

Black exterior accents: This can include the grille, headlight bezels, step bars, mirror caps, and door hªndles.

Black exhaust tips: The tailpipes often have a black finish.

Unique styling: Some packages may include a distinctive hood or grille with black inserts. Interior enhancements:

In some cases, the package may add black interior appliqués, a black interior finish, or even special leather-trimmed seats

. This package is found on the STX, XLT, LARIAT and PLATINUM trim packages offered for the F-150.

Pictured here is proof that just American machines do not pigeon-hole Auto World. They can also drop a wicked Japanese import in the perfect shape of something like a Z.

2025 INDUCTEE ONE64 NOMINEES

Every year, the MCHOF takes a look at what’s happening in the world of model cars, divides it up into about 31 Categories, and then, with the help of seasoned judges, winners are picked to fill the Hall of Fame. This year, CastHeads Magazine brings in more brands to the fold, and you can join by submitting your nominations as well. Let’s get this AWARDS show started!!!

devil in the detail

From the minute I unboxed this for the very first time, I knew it had to be nominated for the Model Car Hall of Fame. This is not the first detailed 1/64 engine, but it certainly set the standard, much like The Matrix did to action movies. INNO64 moved the goal post, and we find it hard to look back.

Instantly, you can tell why I feel this has to be voted into the Hall of Fame. It’s got incredible detail, it is licensed, which is essential, it is unique in the choice of casting, executed well, and by consensus online it’s a huge f*&^&*% hit! Having magnetic covers is a vast improvement and much better than having to hold them in place yourself when you want to give it a bit of a show off, and quite frankly, with engine detail like this, you want to show it off.

I have personally astounded many collectors in the UK and the US when I have shown them examples of these two cars. Essentially, they are the same except for the colour variations. To further my case for this, the fact that this specific model has been such a hit is because collectors still appreciate the true odes to Motorsport and automotive technology and the fact that you can’t have this in one sixtyfour is making my eyes wet. But there is a decisive factor at play, and that is the price-to-detail ratio. With all its glorious detail, is it out of reach for the average collector or worthy of a position in the MHOF? The judges will decide.

BABA

This car has been one of the biggest protagonists in movie history, all because it was not for sale. At least not the one in the movie. And yes, we all know an adorable dog was unalived. As my word processor comes to grips with these new-fangled words, let’s take a moment and take in what a stunning job Johnny Lightning has done with this epic ride. It is almost as if they were expecting John Wick to burst into the QC department and start dispensing some QUALITY Justice.

This car ranks as one of my all-time favourite castings, because it is simple. But well executed. From the moment you see this hanging on the peg at your local, you will have your tongue hanging out wanting it so bad. And when you get it home, I guarantee you will rip it open and place it in the first space you can find in your car. I know this will happen because this is precisely what I did.

In terms of POP Culture, this is the finest piece you can get into your collection because it has an outstanding balance of price and detail at the moment, which means it appeals to any John Wick fan, not just the diecast junkies, making it more popular and in demand.

JOINS

Once upon a time, on a weird planet called Earth, there were only a handful of diecast brands that had the license to make and sell one 64 scale Ferrari, notably Hotwheels, TOMYTEC, and KYOSHO. Today, the market has changed, demand is insane, and Ferrari has figured out that Lamborghini is selling more diecast cars rather than actual Lamborghinis, serious shit. BBR, long-standing friend of FERARRI and almost unattainable with a kidney sacrifice in 1/18, has decided to exploit us plebs with a joint venture with MINI GT to give us… 1/64 Scale Ferraris. It would be made for us to ignore their ability to craft a Ferrari shape

flawlessly, along with juicy details, at a fairly reasonable price tag, all for 1/64 scale. Critics will point out that the carbon weave is not to scale and not authentic. But the print is outstanding, and the stamping is perfect. This is BBR’s first year of doing 1/64, and admittedly, there are teething issues, but BBR makes them look good every time.

EXOTICA THE

TARMAC WORKS redefined a generation of model car collectors, re-invented diecast, swallowed a lot of criticism, stuck to their guns, and they continue to drop dreamy diecast that keep getting better and better. My personal favourite is the AGERA RS. They do it in a plethora of colours I would love to own, and it is just a beautiful casting.

AGERA THE

Out of all the colour variations released, the blue versions are probably the best. This particular model was released as a TWOC release, and so it is in limited numbers across the world. But for those who own it they will gladly tell you it’s a lovely piece and you should definitely help yourself to an Agera RS from Tarmac Works whenever they have one for sale.

Apart from our Nomination of TARMAC WORKS into the Brand of the Year category, I’m thinking this is also a great contender for this year’s 1/64 category. What would be yours?

SPEEDING INTO COLLECTIONS

MAISTO Speed Icons launches the brand’s bid to get serious with 1/64 collectors using the highly extensive licenses that they hold. No surprise that we would see Ferraris and Lamborghinis.

Now we have witnessed both Maisto and Bburago do this scale before, but despite having excellent castings, one thing that let them down in a huge way was the wheels they included, AND the scale of the car was odd, which meant wheel swaps were absolutely impossible.

This year, they have addressed the problems, and good lord, they have done so well. So far, we have been blessed to review two of their

Ferrari releases recently, and the quality is so good it prompted me to want to forward one of them into the Model Car Hall of Fame, and the FERRARI SP3 was my choice of nomination.

This is huge for collectors because, like we mentioned before, we have gone from Ferrari being such a coveted brand even in Diecast, to now looking at getting their favourite models in much higher detail for better prices. Even Hot Wheels have finally stopped doing larger rear wheels on the F40!

Think our choice is sound, or do you think we could do better? Send in your nomination!

The Imprezario

Imprezario

One brand that would probably get nominated every year is TOMICA and TOMYTEC. Their selection of cars, proper to scale, avoids falling into the tuner car trap and brings the best detail one could find in terms of price and casting. These Subarus are the perfect example of TLVN’s ability to school all the other brands in how it’s done. I personally love these castings, and there is no doubt that these were a popular choice in the pre-order baskets.

ELITE 64

Seeing as how HotWheels has had the limelight for decades, I wanted to shine the light on some of the newer brands that are coming out and making an impact on the market. That doesn’t mean to say that they are out for the count or down and out. Quite the opposite, in fact, and couldn’t be further from the truth. Hotwheels has been aggressively targeting the collector market with every marketing tool they can think of.

It’s truly flawless casting, making it hard to find anything to criticise or have any grievances whatsoever. And I stand by my claim that so far, I have never opened a TLVN with QC issues. Both cars have an excellent paint finish, and although both carry STI badging, there is a slight difference between the packages. The white version carries a hood scoop on the top. Other than the details, which are brilliant both on the inside and outside, they together make an excellent case for themselves.

This year, the Elite64 range has been launching numerous true-scale castings aimed at collectors seeking more detail and better-sized diecasts overall. This PORSCHE 911 ADVAN is an excellent example of what they are trying to achieve, and even though the price point can be a little ridiculous, it’s still hard to close the browser and not hit purchase on some of these Hot Wheels releases. So, if any of you out there would like to nominate Hot Wheels for the one 64 categories, then this ADVAN 911 would be a good call.

2025 INDUCTEE ONE43 NOMINEES

WAGON PARTY LORD HESKETH

One of the more prolific party animals in the history of Motorsport, Lord Hesketh liked to have a good time and certainly wanted others to join in the fun frolics. He also didn’t want to be far from the action of Motorsport either. So, Lord Hesketh took the party with him wherever he went.

Automodello does some seriously gorgeous handbuilt models, and this GMC motorhome is an absolute stunner. They do have three different models or colour variations to choose from, but the Hesketh version is an actual piece of inspiration and history.

The fact that each piece has been articulated and created by hand is enough to appreciate the price tag that comes with these models. And when a model company says ‘limited number of pieces’, the rule of thumb is, if it is hand-built, then it is really produced in minimal numbers, and you can take that to the bank.

WINNING VANTAGE

SOLIDO has spent the last year reinventing itself from the inside, and with a relatively young and vibrant team, the brand is excelling in the 1/18 and 1/43 scale markets. Fresh ideas, new designs, even their own in-house tuning design arm called SOLIDO WORKS, have collectors working two or three jobs to keep up with releases. One of my favourite releases this year has been their version of the ASTON V12 VANTAGE.

Beautiful Metallic Blue with lime green highlights, and those thin spoke alloys make me a pleased collector. The 1/43 scale has also gotten caught up with this upsurge in model car popularity, and brands like SOLIDO are in no way ignoring the new demand. Their lineup of releases has been awe-inspiring, and the level of detail is befitting an ASTON.

Victory at

Yes, Bburago has done an absolutely fantastic job with this casting, featuring all its intricate details, which are numerous because this is also known as a hypercar.

Trying hard to be unbiased in my choices, but I can’t help it if there are many stunning FERRARI models to choose from this year. Like this 1/43 scale 499P Ferrari that won the overall LeMans in 2023, marking the return of Ferrari as a factory-sponsored team and bringing back that Fezza magic fans like me have grown into with tales of their dominant days in F1 and LeMans.

A car packed with future technology Ferrari plans to use in future production cars. Aerodynamics, brakes, electronics, sensors, safety protocols, everything that can be thought of will be a new or upgraded design. This can lead to an intricately designed body, and Bburago has replicated it pretty well.

MONZA Limited Edition collection. #castheadsWEARPUMA

Celebrating Niki Lauda’s First World Championship title in MONZO 1975, PUMA Motorsport and Scuderia FERRARI HP bring back the glory days with a gorgeous collection of Street wear sporting some of the classic logo’s and badges from 1975 as well as some classic designs that will have any CastHead lusting after.

This is the sort of stuff that makes me wantto go out and commit some sort of robbery.

Speedcats with Classic typography WHAAAT!!!!! And they come in blue! This collection is a far cry from the usual loud and rambunctious F1 designs used to attract the younger Gen. This is classic meet PUMA Speedcat CHIC.

TO UNBOX Exorcist Needed:

The minute I saw this on Round2’s round up I knew I had to get on the horn to the Diecast Gods at Round2 and get the scoop on this new tooling and new addition to Auto World’s 1:18 line up and quite frankly one of my nominations for the 1:18 scale category in the MODEL CAR HALL OF FAME! Be warned, there will be a lot of lingo using the words, devilishly good, trance like, and HELL!

UNBOX A DEMON

This is the Dodeg Demon GSS and you are going to need a swig of Holy Water for this review!

First of all, its heavy. If you have not experienced Autoworld in 1:18 scale be prepared. The full metal body feels like they did the weight of a muscle car in scale as well. Personally, I like it, it feels confident like Al Pacino in the Devils Own. Then when you finally find a priest mad enough to indulge in your Demon Unboxing (I couldn’t find one) you may suddenly realise it is a MECUM Auctions replica as well. MECUM Auctions is an evil car worshipping society that places high value on stunning pieces of automotive history in immaculate condition.

Yeah you’re in trouble now. Now you’re thinking should have got an acrylic case to go with it. TOO LATE!!! Even Ed and Lorraine Warren can’t save you now! Do not say GSS 3 Times.

HISTORY LESSON!

The abbreviation ‘GSS’ stands for Grand Spaulding Sport which is derived from the dealership called Grand Spaulding Dodge in Chicago owned by Norm Kruas.

Mr. Norm as he was known was pivotal in the tuning world and was directly up against Chevy tuners like Dan Yenko or Mustang Tuners like Carol Shelby.

The Dodge Demon was a little V8 muscle car that pumped a stock standard of 240BHp. By the time Mr. Norm’s engineering team had revamped the engine and dropped the GSS on it, the demon was pushed to run over 300Bhp and deliver judgement.

This significant increase in supercharged power made the GSS Demon one of the most sort after sleeper rides that command an insane amount of money today, especially the Mecum Auction version which are demonically priced higher than a newer Ferrari.

Round2 have done an epic recreation like it was almost summoned by Beelzebub’s own hands.

The famous Paxton Centrifugal Supercharger GSS engine can be enjoyed with great detail. It was an amazing breakthrough in engine technology where a small and effective supercharger was built for smaller block engines that went into fairly small coupe and then physics takes over with our happy power : weight ratio.

Comparing this to the actual car is always cool and this is not a tribute, or an inhouse design, no this is a perfect replica right down to the sticker the Dyno testing guys put on the original car. Yes there could be more detail but then you would be looking at a completely different price tag.

This makes owning an amazing piece of history and a classic at a really great price and perfect for collectors and fans of these sorts of model cars. Auto Worlds MECUM Auctions cars in any scale are absolutely gorgeous.

Round2 have done an epic recreation like it was almost summoned byBeelzebub’s own hands.

You will not find another brand with this sort of TUNER styled repertoire in the price range as SOLIDO and between OttoMobile and GT Spirit they pretty much have the TUNER car game moving in their favour in the 1/18 segment. And having had a look at what’s headed our way all the way down to Spring 2026 I can tell you there is abating.

we have Exhibit A:

Looking sharper than James Bond at the Casino, I’m just amazed at SOLIDO delivering the goods in terms of detail especially the bit that’s the DRIFT and TIME ATTACK fans are going to go gaga over. Lowered stance, wide bodies that look like they a dose of Mounjaro, cambered deep dish wheels so deep you could serve curried crab for 4, signature body kits, endless lists the pictures speak for themselves.

The interior is also quite detailed; you will definitely not have a problem with detail. But I have to be honest I enjoy looking at my LBWK GT-R35 collection, but I have never opened them up or needed to feel like I needed to display the interior simply because its all about the exterior with these cars. And maybe the stereo, and who knows maybe in the future with everyone trying to use newer technology in their models we may see cars that connect to external Bluetooth boom boxes and act as music players.

SOLIDO have to commended, applauded even on their effort to drop fairly mass-produced models with this level of detail on so many new tooling’s and parts. Like the rear aero wing with its intricate arms already attached. I used to have so much trouble with R35 rear wings. So! Having this preattached is awesome!!!

There is plenty more from where this coming from and guaranteed head turners!!!! You are going to lover this and what’s coming!
