McLaren Passion in 1/43

In the last issue we spoke of the revival of 1/43 scale cars which, are slowly gaining popularity due to the new castings that keep getting released. Here we have SOLIDO with a gorgeous version of the McLaren 765 LT. First, the most striking thing about this is the colour and the paint finish. Perfect in LIME GREEN as well as McLarens favourite colour PAPYA ORANGE. This fruit salad of speed has been painted in metallic colours and overcoated to give you that glossy smooth finish.

Details are pretty good for a 1/43 scale almost as good as a 1/24 car but you have to be a little careful because there are no opening parts, even though the doors do look like they open we made the mistake of trying to open them and ended up with the out panel in our hands, no opening parts.
At the end of the day these are perfect display models that fit comfortably on your shelves or desktop with more detail than your detailed 1/64. For the collectors of 1/43 scale models these are epic AND the super great new is there are more awesome models slated for the coming months. SOLIDO is rocking it like a baby’s cradle with this scale, oh and the price? The best prices you can find on the market for fantastic detail.

Most collectors, we are sure, would like to turn most of their little diecast autos into track day monsters. But most of us cannot fathom the fine art of customization that many others across the world find it so easy to do. Fingers too large, failing eyesight, and the ability to create a diety-awful mess means that most of us just wait for the racing version to catch up to the street version... or vice versa.

CCA, or as they proudly proclaim, Cool Chic Auto (part of MSZ or Metal Speed Zone) has come up with a 2-in-1 diecast model kit that gives almost any collector, the chance to turn a street car into a racing version of itself with a simple, easy as pie, method. With just a click (or few actually) you can turn your street tough 2018 Ford Mustang GT into a slick track day zoomer.

The fender setup is held in place by the tiny Mustang logos. The engine setup just click into place, just like the rear wing. Its just satisfying to play with it. Fueling your imagination of being a racing mechanic.

Did we tell you that it has opening parts like doors (you get one of those little door opening thingys) and the front hood does open to display the engine. All in all, it's a great experience to have a car (many more to come) geared towards those who like to meddle with their models. These aren't in the realm of collectibles yet, but the build quality isn't bad, and its straddles the line between collecting and play. Which isn't a bad place for a diecast automaker to be in right now. Right now they are big in China, but hoping to reach out to more markets worldwide and CastHeads will be there to bridge them and collectors across the planet.

JADA IS ON A ROLL PEOPLE!
They have got the licenses to build and they are using it to maximum advantage. For us we missed the POWER RANGERS fad by a generation, however whether you are a POWER RANGER fan or not you will appreciate the cars that JADA has done.

JADA’S GOT THE POWER

We picked these two out of the set because holy enchiladas look at that RX-3 Savanna. It really is epic AND it is not something you see everyday in our world of scale models. So this is quite the treat getting it in 1/24 scale along with a metal diecast figurine for the hardcore POWER RANGER fan. Love the metallic blue paint work which changes shades of blue in different lighting. Its not chameleon paint but the finish is spot on. JADA has even thrown some cheeky tuner branding as well on the doors along with power rangers logo.
The wide body mods make the RX-3 look as as aggressive as a wild boar with its short wheel base by wide haunches over the wheels and of course JADA has all opening parts giving the collector who likes customising stuff a great canvas to work off.

The yellow Charger repping the Yellow Power Ranger comes with a metal diecast figure as well and will certainly brighten up your collection shelf (we recommend parking it next to JADA Hello KITTY skyline for maximum brightness) unlike the RX-3 the Charger is well known to be in everyone’s portfolio from 1/64 to 1/12 and is probably the second most made American Muscle car in scale models after the Mustang. Nevertheless, we love the colour and we like the madness it brings to the collection even though we are not familiar with the POWER RANGERS.
