Ford GT
Ford Motor Company presented this model as a tribute to two lightweight Ford GT40 Mk1 built by Alan Mann Racing in the 1960s. They helped with the development of the MK2 which made history later taking on Ferrari in their historic battles on the tracks. The model featured white and gold striping, and carries the #16 which was used in the AM GT-1 race car. This is the latest in a series of Ford GT Heritage Editions released by MINIGT.

MINIGT 1:64 #467
LB Silhouette WORKS
Lamborghini Aventador GT EVO
WHITE
A Super clean version of the LB Silhouette WORKS bodykit on a Lamborghini Aventador GT EVO looks really good. The monochromatic looks straight out of a Star Wars movie... as it looks like something the Stormtroopers commander would take to a night out. We totally dig it.

Lincoln Capri

MINIGT 1:64 #448 BLACK
MINI GT's experimentation with making classic cars paid off when they picked this particular model. The 1954 Lincoln Capri Special Custom Coupe is a black behemoth with some amazing styling that is iconic of the 50s. Can't wait to see what else MINI GT comes up with when it comes to classic cars.

TUNED NATION N

Behold the ULTRA RARE! The echelon of TUNERS. Limited quantity, quality graphics overlay, two tone paint job and dual-coloured wheels. This, all coupled with their new casting and tooling of the DATSUN Z update. Bright and brilliant this is probably one of the best mainstream castings you can get so far of the new ‘Z’. The plastic headlight alone outweighs the painted version on competitor brands.

We love the bright neon style applied to the livery job and the selection of colours has been quite wild perfect for the neon themed Series 3. Snap on body kit in translucent pink and glitter turns the ‘Z’ into a straight diva and there are the snap on rubber wheels that take you ride to lower heights and wider stance. Our honest opinion? The car looks stunning with just the body paint, the graphics, and the wide tyres.

ICE ICE

V90

From the ice plains of Sweden comes a stone cold chiller. We have already raved about the VOLVO V90 in previous reviews, but lordy in this colour scheme the V90 looks absolutely striking. Majorette have certainly moved into innovating newer body designs and colours which is dropping the brand into some serious collector hands with new design appeal.

Love the neon green snap on body kit, adding aero skirtings onto the family wagon before heading out of town for the classic car festival. And if the V90 already didn’t have enough space, we got it cooking with a travel box you can accessorise with the sticker sheet added into the package.

a littleJAPANESE SPICE

Keeping it classy this GT86 is a gorgeous gloss dark grey and looks stunning all by itself. The windows are blue which automatically equates to blue plastic headlights. The colours however are not randomly chosen. Based off the branding colours of BILSTEIN the car has got representations of the colours which get highlighted by that unmistakably beautiful dark grey gloss finish.
Modded parts feature a hood replacement switching from road to rally mode in seconds. And of course a neon yellow rally styled body kit that gets snapped on at the top. From a distance in low light the car looks like something out of TRON. The neon body kit looks like its floating on bright yellow rings. In the office this looks like its going to be kept off the mods and lay in ‘stock fashion’.

STRAIGHT UP G

Oooo look at that grille! Black, red and silver a nice combination that works well with the SAFARI Beige and feature design that has very close roots to tribal African art. Although Majorette have a massive variation list of G500s (and Landaulets) this one comes with the biggest wheels making it the most aggressive looking one in the pack.
No wonder that the mods for this are in line with some rough and tough jungle / safari muck about complete with an extra spare wheel. Know anyone handy with an airbrush and know miniature painting? Because the blue tuner mods are moulded quite well making it the perfect base for a nice paint mod of its own something a bit more realistic. Don’t you just love models with potential!

WheRe WilD RUn BRONCOS

This is not the first time the designers over at Majorette have gone with this colour combination and honestly, we are mesmerised by how good that metallic green and the orange plastic windows and lights go together. Of course, the green paint is richer and deeper with this being a premium range casting and matched with how well they got the body right this is an absolute winner for 1/64 Bronco fans.
Neon orange rims on the heavy duty tyres compliment our tuner modifications that also come in neon orange. But the one thing we are head over heels in love with…is that ORANGE BRONCO lettering across the black grille surround by the flecked green paint. That alone is a champion design feature!

RE-REWIND AND THE CROWD SAY BO CELICA

PARA64 is the move making some brilliant casting and guess what not a single Skyline in sight in their catalogue. A few HONDAs, yes they couldn’t help themselves but nothing that represents a Skyline or close, could they be the first Diecast model brand in 10 years not have any GT-Rs?!?! It feels like the diecast world is collapsing, but before we do that lets look at what they do have.
PARA64 the 1/64 line of Paragon Models has some very interesting models under their belt. One of the few brands that have done an extensive line of MITSUBISHI cars, they have a lovely selection of Toyotas, some nice RUF tuned Porsches, gorgeous AUDIs, gorgeous BMWs and Hondas. Leading into the feature presentation its exciting to note that PARA64 has been generating some real TOYOTA icons. The recent TOYOTA HILUX and LAND CRUISER from the 80s and 90s are stunning and PARA64 is onto to some great nostalgic motors.

SADLY
OUR BUDGET WAS DOWN TO ORDERING ONE CAR, DESCIONS HAD TO BE MADE AND SINCE WE FEATURED THE STARION IN THE LAST ISSUE, THIS CELICA SUPRA IS A GREAT FOLLOW UP.

In terms of detail we are looking at something very promising here. Plastic lights in the front and the back combined with a great body mould that has captured the shape of the car really well. Wheels look really good, rolls without any problem or bent axle and wrapped in a fairly 80s looking fat tyre. Cars from this period have a certain edge to them and that’s probably because this was the time aerodynamic design was starting to be the main focus of design. The demand for faster cars that consumed less fuel. PARA64 have done a great job of capturing that vibe in 1/64.

POWER & STYLE MADE IN CHINA – HONGQI L5

For the uninitiated, CHINA has a very vibrant automotive industry and this, is a very cool version of one of their super luxury rides. I love the combination of the retro front with a more modern shape and design that permeates through the rest of the limousine styled body. If Japan has the Century, then China has the Hongqi. XCARS Models is the first to bring this to 1/64 and the job isn’t too bad.

The details are pretty good (I watched Jeremy Clarkson talk about this car while I looked at all the mentioned exterior features) everything is there and where it should be. The flag poles in the front are so sturdy that if you accidently stepped on of these in the night it would a LEGO block a serious run for foot destroying money.

There is one thing mystifying as the Bermuda Triangle. The car feels heavy (remembers, need to buy a scale, again) but the wheelbase is plastic and the model sounds light and flimsy. It feels like it was made by the guys who makes Newt Scamander’s bags. Overall, it’s not a bad casting but I wonder if its price competitive. I feel there are a few more steps to go into making this model more premium. But XCARS is certainly off to a good sta rt.

PRESENTING SOMETHING EXCITING FROM ASTON MARTIN

POP Race is giving us a lot of reasons to smile these days. One of these reasons comes in the shape of the ASTON MARTIN GT3 painted in the presentation car colours. These guys do a lot of nice cars but this one in particular is quite spectacular. They have gotten the details perfect in terms of decals and racing stripes and the body lines are pretty spot on takin in to account how it is hard to replicate some details in small scale.

ASTON MARTIN VANTAGE GT 3
Like cameras on phones carbon fibre is the latest thing all 1/64 manufacturers are touting these days. As the technology progresses the details are getting finer and because the demand is higher it becomes cheaper to do. Look at us CastHeads around the world driving industry and economy! To cut a long story short…CHECK OUT THAT CARBON FIBRE PRINT!!!! Scaled down to size and brings up the game. So far we’ve seen three major player dropping this kind of detail, POP RACE is one of them. Detail as far as the MICHELIN branding on the tyres.

THIS IS AN EXCITING CASTING! THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL DROPS FROM MANY BRANDS THAT HAVE JUST SHOWN HOW VIBRANT AND ALIVE THIS HOBBY IS. WE HAVE JUST MADE IT TO THROUGH THE FIRST QUARTER AND THE SHELVES ARE JUST LINING UP WITH INSANE MUST HAVES.

Even better news, this isn’t the first or the last of the ASTON MARTIN VANTAGE GT3 that POP RACE has lined up, there is going to be more this year and we saw if you have refinanced your house twice by now, the maybe now’s the time to do it (Disclaimer: Not valid financial advice at all). Get ready to open up a new section in your collection specifically for the number of variations we hear POP RACE is going to throw your way.

JUst Keeps them coming!

If MINI GT was music they would be the Brill Building. They would be the endless soft drink refills at your favourite family restaurant. They are on such a roll, we have run out of analogies that would best describe their current meteoric rise. We will be meeting up with Glen the owner of MINI GT soon and rest assured I am excited to find out what he has in store for 23-24’ because so far, it’s looking brilliant much like this Canary yellow 911 TURBO S

My dalliances with MINI GT began with PORSCHE. I was so impressed with their 911 GT2 model, I invested in getting all 3 variations and I suspect there maybe 4 but at this point who’s counting. What we know for sure is that MINI GT has been through the teething in production phase and are now whacking out hits like every single day. Now I know their numbers are not high in production and definitely lower than the highly mainstream players in the market but at the same time they don’t tout a limited edition label on anything. Bottom line demand outweighs supply.
However, they do a decent number of variations and that is enough to keep everyone one happy for now. Yes, there are alterations in the variations sometimes. Like, the silver 911 Turbo S that MINI GT released earlier this year has a full width wing at the back whereas this new yellow version has a shorter and stockier rear wing. Purists will be screaming in their heads saying that’s the TURBO S GT and this is the TURBO S. I say buy whatever you can gets your hands on and enjoy the pride of owning a nice MINI GT PORSCHE collection. I have one, so I know!

IS THE NU AMG BLACK

Well, not entirely but a trending headline, nevertheless.however, when the words amg + black + mercedes is mentioned together in the same sentence car fanatics in all scales and sizes sit up and listen. they know just by looking at a picture of the c63 amg that deep guttural tone of the 6.3 litre v8 will fill their heads with that unmistakable sound. bass notes that would rip your pants away.

As a skyline I have no issues adding a billionth Skyline to the collection and on a personal note I really do like the Silhouette cars from the Japanese circuit. And I hope both brands continue to create these great looking cars to add to the collection.

Sadly, however good this 1/43 scale C36 model by SOLIDO is, you still must imagine that deep guttural growling for yourself. Though titled the AMG Black Series these cars are anything but dark coloured. In fact the most famous colour for the C36 is bright yellow and it looks good on SOLIDOs version with a lovely clear coat laye red on top.

As SOLIDO has been improving leaps and bounds in the 1/18 scale category, the smaller category 1/43 is also stepping up to be a challenger in an already highly competitive market in terms of better details and paint jobs. Good news for collectors especially for the 1/43 fans. And since there has been a resurgence of interest in this scale SOLIDO has come back in at the right time.

The other colour that has released this in,
SOLIDO
is Chilli Red and yes it does look spicy. We’ve noticed that SOLIDO in addition to having regular releases, they also come out with two colour variations of the same casting. This is rare in 1/43 scale because usually we see multiple variations on 1/64. A bit of choice never hurt anyone.
SOLIDO have been doing some pretty impressive 1/43 scale cars in the recent past and their car choices so far have been very interesting. It’s been an wide selection of American Muscle, German Muscle as well as some British Tech thrown in for good measure and lets not forget some of those French classics as well.

“WE’VEGOTTHE FUTUREUNDER CONTROL”

ROBOCOP
In 1987, Hollywood trail blazed another futuristic dystopia based movie about corporate greed, the human spirit and the amalgamation of man and machine to create the ultimate service personal, in this case a Police Officer. Officer Alex James Murphy. Immediately ROBOCOP was launched into the iconic stratosphere. Ever since then the 3 part movies have become cult classics even prompting a reboot in 2014.

In the box you get a 1/24 scale Detroit Police FORD Taurus which is one of the most well known cars used by American police and a small 4 in metal diecast figure of ROBOCOP. Together they bring peace to the violent shelves that house the rest of your collection. Unfortunately, the arms and legs of ROBOCOP are fixed otherwise it would have been fun to place him in various positions.

The FORD TAURUS plays its part really well and looks like the real deal with JADAs wonderful all opening parts feature. Photographers will be able to have their imaginations run wild with all the stuff they can do with this pair from the Detroit police force. I do have a couple of wishes for JADA to continue this line.
Like the complete line of Cyborgs the ED-209, ROBOCOP PROGRAMME 2, ROBOCAIN, OTOMO and of course the 2014 ROBOCOP and ED-209. All fantastic opportunities for an awesome franchise.

YEP THE INTERIOR OF THE FORD COMES WITH AN MDT AS WELL, TO RUN CHECKS AND ADMINISTER BOLO ALERTS.

CALIFORNIA DREAMIN HARLEY DAVIDSON STYLE

CALIFORNIA
NOT REALLY THE SORT OF VEHICALE YOU WOULD SEE WITH HARLEY BRANDING. BUT THE VWT1 OR LET’S FACE IT MOST VW’s WERE SO FAMOUS IN AMERICA YOU COULD ALMOST THINK THAT IT IS AN AMERICAN CAR IN THE 60s

I completely love this model and In life there are something that Peanut butter and Jam for example those examples. Germany’s rider brand coming
The Matte black paint definitely look as opposed to the glossy on these models. I also how of adding the Harley branding down the roof, Harley logo orange rims and chrome

and I honestly think looking at it you want it to. that go really great together quite by accident. example or chilli and chocolate, this is one of Germany’s iconic transporter brand and America’s sole coming together never looked so good. definitely rocks the T1 giving it a ‘tough love’ kind of glossy flower power paints jobs you usually see how restrained the designers have been in terms branding and design assets. Simple orange strip logo on the doors, and the white wall wheels, chrome hub covers are just freeking insane.

THE LADA THAT MADE RUSSIA PROUD

Straight up fairytale story in the automotive world. Porsche was strapped for cash, so the Soviet Union’s auto manufacturer hired them to work on LADAs. The result? 4x4 cars that destroyed the competition at the Paris Dakar and could run on pretty much anything that would pass as fuel in Siberia.

LADA NIVA RALLY
SOLIDO

LADA NIVA RALLY

But, the big success came from Rallye Sport and surprisingly (or maybe not they had Porsche help) these jeeps were fast, powerful and durable. In fact they became so popular, that the next version had all hands on deck for the build including the Soviet military engineers. Sadly, though a very successful career, the NIVA had a short one. It was replaced by the LADA SAMARA T3 in 1990.
But while in action this specific LADA came overall 3rd in the 1981 PARIS DAKKAR rally and the came second in both 1982 and 1983 PARIS DAKKAR. It was even raced in 85 and 86 by one of the prolific drivers of the time Sir Jacky Ickx. LADA NIVA the perfect Russian sleeper agent.

DEFINETELY A GREAT PIECE OF HISTORY TO KNOW ABOUT BECAUSE COMMON BIAS WOULD SEE THE LADA AS A STATE SYMBOL AND THEREFORE LACK THE VISION AND TECHOLOGY OF ITS WESTERN COUNTERPARTS. THE NIVA TRUMPED THEM ALL AT THE PARIS DAKKAR.

I always love a good underdog story and really this is one of them. Paying proper tribute SOLIDO has executed a spot-on replication of this cup winning monster that has conquered the toughest rally’s in the world not once but several times. From the livery to the steering and suspension rack under the vehicle have been studied and brought to glorious 1/18 life by the team in a perfect way.

Maybe they should do a ‘dirt’ variation as well. This is great example in many ways but for the collector like yourself this example represent how good SOLIDO is getting at making these great pieces of automotive history come alive and be remembered. Actually, forget remembering, for a lot of new collectors it’s about discovery!

THE

For most of us we heard about RIMAC when Richard Hammond nearly killed himself test driving one of the first RIMACs ever made and condemning it to a fiery hell. It’s annoyingly beautiful and even more annoyingly electric. Ever since its reveal along with a few other sustainable cars brands like FERRARI and LAMBORGHINI have been scrambling to let the world know they are switching to EV by 2025 or something mad like that. But it has begun with 2023 seeing a lot of hybrids coming into play with exterior speakers that play fake engine revs. Yes, car lovers pre-recorded engine revs.

GT SPIRIT delivers a gorgeous NEVERA right after they stunned us with Jonsibal S-KLASS Mercedes and the NISSAN R390 GT1 and it really seems like they are on a sweet roll. Also, they maybe ahead of the game with non-opening resin models because in the future we will be looking at batteries under the hood not some glorious V12 beast roaring with life. But the exterior is just stunning with the twoshade paint job the flips between a deep dark aqua blue and sea green when looked at in certain angles.

Also with these newer EVs aerodynamic play a massive role in containing the resistance and increasing the flow of air around the car. GT Spirit has been mindful about this as they are always and all the relevant body work and aero kits haven’t missed a beat in production.

And finally, the downside of sealed models. Interior visibility sucks especially with a car so low and narrow windows. Noooooooooooooo. But you can see some stuff and as we always say, the interior is stunning realist looking. Leather looking seats, GOOD CHOICE, leather wrapped steering wheel to show how posh you are like shouting while talking in a posh restaurant. And, you can also catch a glimpse of these highly stylised instrument panels that feature turbine type ac vents and digital meters. Sadly the future is here and it looks frustratingly good.
