WHO THE HECK IS THE JOLLY CLUB

An institution in WRC the JOLLY Club was an Italian Rally Team that was sponsored by ToTip and their garage was headed by quite a few Lancia’s including a couple of the HF Delta Intergrale. In 1993 the team had a good run thanks to the amazing ability of Carlos Sainz Snr. Who managed to pull himself into 8th place of WRC that year and delivered 5th place in the constructors to the team. And this was the car he did it in.

SOLIDO has increased their model release for the year and they are truly slaying it in terms of some really amazing models at really great prices with some fantastic insight in to the world of motorsport. Bothe the rally range and the LeMans range have been particularly expanded with some of the best and most loved models being chosen. The problem is that, it has left the collector broke and homeless trying hard to keep up with the plethora of awesome that SOLIDO keeps throwing at us.

The Delta HF INTERGRALE is a great ode to SOLIDO’s current claim to fame in terms of detail and finish. The interior no longer is the step child of quality but instead promoted to the same importance as the exterior needs to be in terms detail. And we are not talking about the presence of roll cages. We are talking about the availability of the onboard computer mounted onto the dashboard or the seat cover that looks the part right down to texture design. SOLIDO Is carving out a new market for itself through sheer improvement in quality.

And there is nothing like getting a great deal on your 1/18 scale model specially in such a highly competitive market. So if your looking to make a choice on something that will not have you killed when the bill comes through. Grab this gorgeous Carlos Sainz Snr. Car and park it next to your Carlos Sainz Jr. F1 car. Like father like son.

Nissans Son Of Speed The R390 Gt1

With a serious interest in Motorsport and a serious interest in the Jaguar XJR-15 Nissan decides to build a car with the sole purpose of entering it into the LeMans race. So far they had been using homologated versions of their famous touring cars but now NISSAN wanted to build something that screamed LeMans from the minute anyone saw it. So, they grabbed the lead designer from Jaguar gave him some NISSAN 300ZX parts and told him to build a LeMans ready car.

And so, the first road going R390 in Royal Blue and the only road going R390 was built and stored away in the car makers history halls. However, the racing going versions were built and for two years running the R390 was place 3rd overall. Proving once and for all, NISSAN knew how to build fast and reliable. And to be honest the choice to use parts from the 300ZX like the headlights and subtle nuances like the split grille similar to the Primera gave people the impression that NISSAN’s motorsport cars and road going cars were linked in many ways.

A MODICOM OF BEAUTY IN THE CAR WORLD.

Sometimes I look at cars like this and think the Japanese had the Itallians by the short hairs in terms of design. Let’s not forget the Japanese culture is steeped in art and functional design, to build a work of art with the sole purpose of going fast is definetely up the Japanese auto makers street.

GT SPIRIT has left no stone unturned in capturing every line possible on this car and the use of actual perforated grilles are the little bits of love that GT Spirit throws in even though they are the starting position of highly detailed and crafted models. These cars are the last vestiges of the ICE era and as we go electric we wave goodbye to these cars and wave goodbye to the natural sound of explosions under the hood.
