With most real world vehicles going electric, it’s a no brainer that this Eco-friendly models will get made into diecast. The Hummer EV Pickup version from General Motors joins the fray. It comes with a Stinger Yellow paint job, rolls on the BLOR (Beadlock Off-Road) which you find on most Hot Wheels trucks and 4WD models and has the half open-top, half closed cab in clear plastic and black base that accentuates the wheel flares. The black plastic also makes the back bed space and it has a skateboard thrown in.
Also it looks great on the dirt.

Ever since getting back into the hobby of collecting model cars I have been exposed to immense creativity, inspiration, and talent. From capturing that perfect angle to building the perfect set and using the right props, the energy is global, unimaginable, and exciting. Felix Hernandez’s work on the cover for Land Rover and Top Gear was a defining moment for me and I had a clear benchmark for my improvement, I’m a huge fan of Felix Hernandez’s work. So, it is with immense pride for us to be in contact with him and honor his work within our pages along with other amazing contributors.
I wake up early in the morning (7:00 am); Quick bath, dress up, simple breakfast, drive to my studio about 5 minutes away from home. Once in the studio the first thing is a cup of coffee, followed of 2 hours of emails and social media reading and writing. By 10:00 am I’m all in the mood for creating; It can be building something, shooting a scene or sitting at my desktop playing in Photoshop.
I’m a 47 years old graphic designer, photographer, digital artist and miniature artist. Husband and father of two, living in Cancun, Mexico.
I manage my photography studio where I create high impact images for the advertising industry, branded content for digital media, and personal projects. My specialty is “creative photography”, normally working indoors shooting scale models and dioramas, doing practical effects as well digital art. By mixing all these disciplines I have developed a personal “visual language” that defines my style, which I call it “Dreamphography”
For me, photography is the means by which I can portray, not the reality, but all the ideas that arise from my mind.
The most important photo is the one I’m working on and
and my best photo is the one I’m going to create tomorrow.
I started 15 years ago doing “regular” commercial photography mostly for local businesses. About 7 years ago I decided to change the course of my career and life pursuing full time a kind of photography that now days isn’t very common. I went mixing my passion for toys and scale models with photography and digital manipulation to develop a “new” way to communicate my ideas and dreams. It didn’t took so long for my new approach to photography to caught the attention of the photo community and it was followed by brands all over the world wanting to make commercial projects with my approach.
I By trying new things I refreshed my photography, I opened new doors for creation, I found a new market and a whole old-new world to explore. Competition and small budgets wasn’t longer a thing to concern about. I had found my niche and my inner voice.
I’m never in my comfort zone. The kind of photography I do demands to try, test, experiment and repeat!… I’m not expert in anything, but I know a little bit of everything. I’m not afraid to fail and that’s my strength.
I’m a dreamer, but not because I’m seeking to fly high, but because literally I use my dreams as my main source of inspiration for creating. So, I don’t “dream big”, “I dream small”, and just do.
I have just one ambition in which I’m totally focused; To create. The more I create the better and happier I feel. Growth, money, fame, recognition comes along if you do what you love for a long enough period of time.

Patrick uses the outdoors as even changing canvases to frame his diecast models in action situations while also bringing a certain exuberance to his indoor diorama studio photography.
Angles mean a lot in diecast photography, and Anantha manages to get shots of his models at the correct ones to show off their shapes and curves.

How does your day start as a photographer?
Normally I wake up early in the morning (7:00 am); Quick bath, dress up, simple breakfast, and drive to my studio about 5 minutes away from home. Once in the studio, the first thing is a cup of coffee, followed by 2 hours of e-mail and social media reading and writing. By 10:00 am I’m all in the mood for creating; It can be building something, shooting a scene or sitting at my desktop working in Photoshop.
Can you tell us more about your background?
I’m a 47 years old graphic designer, photographer, digital artist and miniature artist.
I’m a husband and father of two, living in Cancun, Mexico. I manage my Photo Studio: Hernandez Dreamphography, where I create high impact images for the advertising industry and branded content for digital media, by mixing photography, digital art and crafts to bring my ideas to life.
What does photography mean to you?
“For me, photography is how I can portray all the ideas that arise in my mind”.
What is your speciality or are your specialities?
My speciality is “creative photography”. Normally working in the studio with scale models and dioramas, doing practical effects and practical lighting mixed with digital manipulation.
Imagine, you can create only one last photo. What photo would that be?
It will always be the new personal project I have in mind at that moment. I now have an idea of telling a story that develops in a post-apocalyptic city. I’m currently working on it. The most important photo is the one I’m working on!
What is your ambition as a photographer?
My only ambition is to create my ideas. The more I create the better and happier I feel. Growth, money, fame, and recognition come along if you do what you love for a long enough time.
Is there a niche in commercial photography for your work
Of course, there is… I have done projects for different brands around the world, such as Audi, Volkswagen, BBC’s TopGear Magazine, Mattel, Cadbury, The Red Cross, BMW, Adobe, etc… Also, a lot of the images of my projects have been licensed to different brands
and/or are sold in Fine Art Galleries such as YellowKorner.
Probably you take pictures from within your comfort zone, but is there also a type of photography you would like to do, but don’t dare or can’t?
No… If I want something I go for it… Never in the comfort zone. My kind of photography demands to try, test and experiment.
What inspires you?
I seek inspiration in my dreams. I use my dreams as a source of inspiration. As well I can be inspired by music, movies, books, and the work of other artists, normally illustrators.
Why is photography so important for many people? Why is photography so important to you?
I think that now these days people are used to sharing almost everything on social media. It doesn’t matter if you are a pro photographer, if you do it as a hobby or if you are a nonphotography person. We all want to share our vision and experiences with others. Photography is now within the reach of everyone using a high-end camera or just a smartphone. For me is not different: For me is very important because through photography I can share my vision as an artist with others.
What gear do you use?
Camera: Canon 5D Mark III and Mark IV
Lenses: 24-105 mm f.4 / 24 mm Tilt and Shift f.3.5 / 50 mm f1.4 / 70200 mm f.4
Lights: Studio flashes: Bowens and Einstein.
Tripod: Manfrotto with ball head
Imagine, you can help create a new camera, what would be on your wish list for it?
I would love to have a camera with a dynamic range similar to what we see with our eyes! Imagine that!
What is the biggest blunder/mistake you ever made with photography? If you had any
I don’t remember a particular one… because I have made them all… For example: Erasing all the files from the camera before downloading them, means; losing all the photoshoot!
Is there a photographer you would like to meet and join for a day?
Ha, ha ha! I will tell my story in front of the camera one day since that dream has come true! “How I met Adrian Sommeling!”
How do you see the future of photography?
I think we are living in exciting times for photography. There are a lot of amazing developments in the photography field. Some of them will help us to do our job easier, but also can transform us into lazy photographers. Competition for Pro photographers is going to be bigger and harder. Now more than ever, photographers have to be well prepared and develop their unique styles.
The question I have been asked the most is: » HOW DO YOU BUILD YOUR SET ?«
To answer that today I will share an exemplary set up with you and show why it is important to use both light and dark reflectors.
I always use several reflectors to be in control of the reflections and the modulation of the shapes of the car. So I do recommend to always have several colored reflectors in different sizes at hand – even if you are not shooting in a studio.
Depending on the cars colors sometimes it really makes a difference. The demonstration below shows how drastically the modulation changes and how it can push the beautiful lines of the cars exterior design.
The pictures of the beautiful CMC Maserati 300S shown here demonstrate the difference between a set-up with and without reflectors. Both are taken with identical conditions and light setups. The only difference are the reflectors.
While picture 1 gets along without reflectors, picture 2 shows two reflectors placed next to and above the model.
The reflector placed above the model provides higher contrasts and a controlled incidence of light from above, so that the reflection on the hood has a harder edge and a clear slant. The reflector placed to the rightof the model provides a soft color gradient and an elongated reflection across the entire width of the model. It is important here
that the reflector is of sufficient length. Otherwise the reflection will break off too early.
The reflectors can be positioned and aligned using clamps or goosenecks, for example.
LIGHT SOURCE 1: 5600K, 45% LUMINOUS INTENSITY
LIGHT SOURCE 1: 5600K, 100% LIGHT INTENSITY
REFLECTOR BLACK, DIAGONALLY HANGING FOR THE CONTROL OF THE OVERHEAD LIGHT
TRANSLUCENT DIFFUSER LEFT AND RIGHT FOR A SOFT LIGHT DIFFUSION
MODEL
REFLECTOR WHITE FLAT FOR SOFT LATERAL REFLECTIONS
CAMERA POSITION SLIGHTLY ELEVATED CENTRALLY
This schematic shows an exemplary studio setup for a small studio. In a larger studio, the distances can of course differ significantly.
I personally prefer to work with continuous light. But I would like to tell you more about the lighting setup next time.
Below: Behind the Scene footage with three different reflectors working on the modulation of the cockpit and the front of the model. The black reflector on the left is raised to match the angle of the hood in order to carve out the modulation.
Left: Final result!
In the vast landscape of photography, diecast photography is vibrant niche that spans the planet. In encompasses those who take them as a hobby, to those professionals who has made a life of making small models look like the real thing and everyone in between. Anthony Schmidt is a 14 year old who has been doing this since he was a pre-teen and is already on the way to becoming a celebrated diecast photographer. We managed to catch up with him for a chat.
CastHeads Magazine Hi Anthony, great to have you in our magazine. Please tell a little about yourself?
Anthony Schmidt I’m a 14 year old on the autism spectrum, it’s common for people with autism to have a special interest and for me that was always cars.
CHM How did the diecast photography start?
AS I started collecting diecast cars at an early age, at around 6 years old is the first time I took my models outside to take pictures with an iPhone. I was so surprised at how real they looked but I didn’t really show them to anyone because I didn’t think they would care. Then around age 9, I started an Instagram page and the photos went viral. Someone liked my photography enough that they gifted me a real car, a 1957 Ford Custom 300 that I am planning to do a full restoration on.
CHM How does it make your feel when you snap this models?
AS I’d also like to add that I work on them and rebuild them and modify them sometimes I add rusty patina to make them look aged. I really enjoy setting them into realistic scenes that are era specific and make it look like a step back in time.
What models have you fallen in love with the most?
AS I don’t have favorites. I love all cars.
CHM At just the tender age of fourteen and already a seasoned photographer, what has been some of your highlights so far?
AS At age 12 I published my first coffee table book, “Small Cars, Big Inspiration” and we are working on book 2. I have had a calendar the 3rd year running and this year I sold enough calendars to purchase a real car, my 1959 Studebaker Silverhawk. Just recently I was featured in People magazine, and got a shout out from Tim Cook CEO of apple on twitter,
for the photography I do using the iPhone. I have over 500k followers on twitter for my behind the scenes photoshoots.
CHM Do you think your photography has positive impact on your autism and vice versa?
AS Yes, I wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t for autism, it’s what gave me my hyper-focus and attention to detail, it also has a calming effect when I am doing what I enjoy. It’s the American dream to make money doing what you enjoy.
CHM What message would you like to share with others who have autism or parents that have autistic children?
AS I would like to say, to never give up, and follow your dreams. Remember it’s only a diagnosis, it doesn’t mean you can’t have a great life.
Thank you Anthony and Ramona Schmidt for taking the time to speak to us and sharing the message with collectors and diecast photographers from all across the world.
You can follow Anthony on his social pages or visit his website AnthonyRyanSchmidt.com for more great photographs and an opportunity to get your hands on some of his merch.
The rule of thumb for rally drivers is simple. FLAT OUT. This year Tarmac Works is flying the same flag and going flat out. New display designs, an IXO partnership for Ferrari, and F1 cars in the wings but no one was prepared for the genius LANCIA 037 drop that has pretty much gotten into the cross-hairs of many 1/64 scale collectors across the globe. If you haven’t heard about the TW Lancia yet, shocking, but you’ve come to the right place, and you’ll get to see how beautiful this model is from many people’s eyes.
Although this isn’t the first opening parts model from Tarmac Works, it’s the first opening model where the engine cannot only be seen but the paint detailing on the engine will knock the pants clean off your body! This is a new sub-brand or extension if you will of Tarmac Works’ already popular line of higher-end models skewed mostly towards motorsport releases. Known as HOBBY64+ the new sub-brand comes with a swanky new box package which, in itself is collector worthy.
But the meat and potatoes of HOBBY64+ are the added details that you are going to be paying premium prices for. The model we received is stunning and we don’t have anything but love and praise for it. It’s a fantastic replica with stunning detail. Everything is perfect from the headlight right down to the rear light, tire types, and decals. But you think to yourself, does that deserve a ‘+’? And, then you look under the hood and the entire body.
As you can see by the awesome photography of Livon Nie who has laid the Tarmac Works Lancia stripped down and bare, the amount of detail that has gone into the interior, especially the engine and to be honest we have been to wrack our brains thinking if there is any other 1/64 scale model that has gone this far into the engine detail. As far as we are concerned this fresh territory we are witnessing here and it is exciting.
(Please note that these are fan/collector contributed images used with permission) (The actual model does not carry any LBWK or RWB logos on the engine)
Calvin Vong of @melco_hairpin_garage also loves the detail of the 037 Lancia preferring to shoot it in a garage setting which leads us to talk about the fact that 1/64 scale shutter casters (a term referred to as diecast photographers) will be able to bring a little more realism into their pictures with Hobby64+ cars and their detail. Score for Tarmac Works, such a great idea.
Divyan from @THEDSCOLLECTION prefers to do a more outdoor perspective of the Lancia capturing some really beautiful angles in natural light and then adding a vintage color effect in post edit offering a more period correct finish to his shots.
This collection of pictures from contributors and fans of Tarmac Works is just a drop in the ocean of diecast photography being done on the Lancia 037 by Tarmac Works. Right now, it is one of the most trending and sought after 1/64 models on the markets and with all the license approvals in place, this is going to be a collector’s item for sure.
Part Two
Hot Wheels does it again. Another Car Culture Lancia in the shape of the STRATOS GROUP 5 model rocking the Alitalia livery. This is a great follow up to their version of the 037 that appeared in the Car Culture Rally Set. Surprisingly the Stratos appears in the Boulevard set but we will let the hardcore HOTWHEELS fans figure it out, as far as we are concerned a rally Lancia in any shape or scale is fine with us.
This is up to the mark for a Car Culture model by Hot Wheels standards. Rubber wheels, full-body tampos, and usually the headlights AND the rear lights are given a bit of extra detailing but in this case of course no pop-up headlights so just the rear. Solid casting with a white metal base and a tiny bit of the engine with the exhaust sticking out.
Representing a great piece of rally history and an iconic car from its birth through all its different iterations the Stratos is easily one of the most soughtafter models in the diecast world. One can only hope that Hot Wheels get a bright spark to follow up the 037 and the Stratos Group 5 with a killer car culture version of the Stratos HF of which they already have done a casting but maybe an updated re-tool. Till then time to get your Hot Wheels Lancia Collection going.
Revolutionaries
Part Three
And this year’s winner of the best Lancia Delta Integrale 1/64 scale model, because it looks sick and has great detail, is… by MINI GT!! 2022 has truly been LANCIA fest and we’ve seen a lot of LANCIA’s turn up in 1/64 this year. At this rate, we might be able to revive the brand purely through licensing. Wouldn’t that be a glorious comeback story for everyone? LANCIA STRATOS returns through crowdfunding raised by licensing.
Thank God for diecast brands keeping the history of great names in motorsport alive. The current generation of LANCIA hatchback is a far cry from the design and fearsome reputation that the DELTA held. Anyone looking at the current crop of LANCIA hatchbacks would never believe its history as rally monsters from the deep. MINI GT is currently rocking the DELTA but right now pre-orders are up for the STRATOS HF STRADALE in Dark Navy Blue and Red, so you need to get in on that fast.
Meanwhile in the here and now we have two versions of the DELTA Integrale. This one is in full rally gear and Martini Livery based on 1992 1000 Lakes Rally Winner. A gorgeous little number right round. Another 1/64 brand that’s earning its seat in the collector’s auditorium with premium detail models at surprisingly great rates. I remember when MINI GT first kicked off with a few HONDA’s now with an insane repertoire of some lovely cars.
The second DELTA is the same without the 1000 Lakes livery and race number. More like the ‘works’ model which is the breeding ground of new tech for the newer models that come after. A test car so to speak. In terms of quality and detail, we can say it is very consistent considering it’s the same as the other just without some of the livery and race number.
MINIGT had issued a recall for these models as there had been a quality issue. Collectors who already purchased them will be reissued the models at a later date.
If you are a Kardashian and plan on going into the great outdoors where the Rolls won’t fit and the mud can get stickyy you will need something rugged yet flashy, a brute that can dance like a ballerina. Something like a Mercedes on luxury steroids. A BRABUS perhaps in white, with active suspension perfect for cruising through our 1/64 scale jungle making a tiny Kardashian very happy.
Honestly, this Majorette is a rebranded Mercedes G500 with just the BRABUS badging (wait…isn’t that what they do with the real jeep). Same casting, with BRABUS badging. But with the new crop of collectors demanding more accessories from exquisite dioramas to figures and props it’s great that there is more choice for some of us to express our creative side with the machines we dream to own. It’s all about the fantasy.
Ah! We have an old favourite at number two of our 4x4 choices. Majorette has a release every year in different colors and two body types, but we never get tired of collecting them. This newer color variant is bang on the money for the RUBICON and harkens back to the old days of the US army with their big robust WILLY’S.
This body version is the short wheelbase and removable rear canopy and of course funnily enough one of the things loved about the old WILLY’S was their leaf spring shocks that allowed those WILLY’S to bounce over rough terrain. Much like the Majorette model which has its spring shocks as well. Maybe we added that last bit to talk more about WILLY’S or maybe we were just genuinely pleased about Majorette cars having suspension, you’ll never know.
Super popular and trending in the world the Suzuki JIMNY has shot to serious fame, and it enjoys quite a bit of stardom over at Majorette being a big regular casting. This is one of the newer versions, with an industrial/urban pattern and the JIMNY Rhino Logo on the sides.
We are surprised that this casting hasn’t been used in more customizations because we’d love to see an ADVAN version or a Walking Dead Version maybe a CastHeads Magazine version the possibilities are endless. I do hope someone reads this and takes note.
A Real Wankel Surprise
The first generation of the rotary powered JDM legend made its debut under the Johnny Lightning flag last year, but this one here is a new Auto World Store exclusive. There are three cars in this limited edition series, so head over to autoworldstore.com to pick them up!
This Mazda RX7 release is limited to just 2496 units, with approximately 4% being White Lightning Chase cars. It sports a classic green on more green Mazda Racing livery and wears shoes of gold. Johnny Lightning pulled out all the stops on this paint job.
They added white racing meatballs with lucky number “7”, Bridgestone, NGK, and Union sponsor stickers, a blue “Mazda” windshield decal, and the iconic “Powered by Rotary” mantra across the back hatch panel. There are detailed mirrors, windshield wipers and spray nozzles, and even key holes in the door embedded in the car’s metal body.
In addition, the RX7 gets a rear defroster on the hatch glass and an opening hood with a fully detailed Wankle engine!
The hood was difficult to pry open at first, but was able to get it done without damaging the paint. It sticks out like a sore thumb when the hood is closed too, but at least it opens! Some of the racing stripes are misaligned or have sections missing, likely due to an application issue. My list of complaints ends there, however!
Underneath, you’ll find a fully detailed, metal chassis plate. Speaking of plates, the tag on the back of the car says “0 PSTNS”! All four tires point straight and roll smoothly on my desk while I annoy my wife and children by screaming “BRAP! BRAAAAP!” at the top of my lungs.
I absolutely adore this little Mazda and can’t thank the folks at Round 2 and Johnny Lightning for sending this one in to us to review!
Be sure to check out the CastHeads Blog for more 1/64 scale features from Round 2, Johnny Lightning, and Auto World!
Here we go, another ‘Once upon a time there was a Porsche’ story our friends at Schuco have managed to land in our laps. Fortunately, spoiler alert like most good Porsche stories (except for the ones that feature the Carrera GT) this one has a happy ending which ultimately leads to a legend being born and then idolised in the guise of a scale model, finding its shrine in your home.
So, once upon a time, there was a Volkswagen and Porsche dealer who converted his car into a racing car and had it track prepared with a roll cage and weight reduction while tuning the 2.0-litre engine to drop 220 Horsepower to the wheels.
The car then went on to win several GT Class championships and racing events earning itself the reputation of being the fastest 914/6, a reputation that interested Eckhard Schimpf amateur race car driver, sports journo, and cousin to Gunter Mast founder of Jägermeister. So armed with a dream to compete in the Rallye Monte Carlo on one hand and the ‘fastest 914/6’ on the other, Eckhard goes over to cousin
Gunter’s looking for a leg up into the race by way of sponsorship, which to his surprise he gets. This is where the Jägermeister Racing Team story begins. And the Porsche 914/6 is hastily repainted to become the first of many cars that have been raced under the Orange and Dark green banner of Jägermeister for decades to follow. Of course, cars driven by greats such as Jacky Ickx, Niki Lauda, James Hunt, Derek Bell etc.
This 1/43 diecast replica of the 914/6 No. 78 is one of my favourite pieces from Schuco’s 1/43 Edition Range. The car comes in its signature acrylic box which always makes it easier to stack and display with the other classic 1/43s.
One of the highlights of the actual car is the quick paint job that was done to switch from the easily miss-able dark green to bright unmissable orange. The orange paint job on the scale model
may be better than the original paint on the actual car both the orange body and green roof.
Other tiny details are as usual impressive. I love the tiny teardrop indicator lights built into the front fenders. Also, love how the rear Fuchs wheels are slightly deeper than the front. And finally, the branding is true to the original right down to the askew number on the front of the car. I lift my cup to celebrate. The end.
Let’s get one thing straight. The 80s saw some bonkers cars hit the roads all over the world. Some people were swimming in money made on oil, stocks, and other substances. And they wanted cars that few, if any at all, could get their hands on. Splurge without a care in the world. AMG has been tuning Mercedes since the 60s and they were given an objective.
The BMW M division was popping out some serious road rockets and Mercedes wanted in.
So the car had to be smallish, but had pack a big a** package. Squeeze a tuned 6.0L 380hp engine into their smaller E-Class. Make it blindingly fast.
“If going blindingly fast down the Autobahn was the objective, it was achieved.”
It had to take on all contenders and beat them senseless in to a pulp and look good doing it.
And boy did they achieve that objective in spades. The 300CE AMG, nicknamed the “Hammer” was a light, agile 0-60mph in 5.1 sec monster bathed in monochromatic colors. Also just for the record, it was even known to go faster from 60-120mph than
the Lamborghini Countach one of the dream cars of that era.
But this much of fancy came at a cost. And it became too expensive to manufacture in large quantities, and saw only 29 models see the light of day. But that made it even more rarer.
Schuco presents the model in glorious 1:43 scale. Small enough
to be enjoyed and large enough to have some intricate details.
But like the real world counterpart, Schuco made this in limited quantities. 500 to be exact.
“Schuco has made one versehen. They only made 500 of these stunning models...”
Put your hands together and give us a round of applause for JADA’s latest Bigtime Muscle Additions and of course, you get to see them here first! The BOSS 429 was born from the desire to enter NASCAR, time for the STANG to shine. Massive FORD 429 engine partially built by HEMI also called the Semi-Hemi was shoved into one of the best-looking Mustangs made.
This JADA offering has hints of something the team at FOOSE would do and no complaints from my end. Drag racer configuration with the fatback tires and alloy wheels stolen from an Alfa Romeo 156. The rear slatted window covers were something FORD used a lot to cool the car interior down and make the exterior look cooler. One of the coolest accessories you could get at the time but looks good on fastbacks with low and long rear windows.
The rear tire is a chunky ode to drag racing you just can’t unsee it. Flared wheel arches complement the low stance body, no over the top branding or design work, clean and simple lives up to the name in looking more mafia boss than an executive white-collar boss. Interior detail is improving with JADA and we are noticing the attention some of the interiors are getting. Love the carbon-esque front hood.
Who’s Tha Boss?
1/24 scales are slowly gaining more demand in the market due to their perfect in-between size and few brands cater to this market. Some have been around for a long time and are getting better but newer brands are turning up the heat with more detail. It’s great to see JADA responding to the times and improving on the details.
From the drag strip club to an iconic OVR that was built to tackle Willy’s JEEP and Land Cruiser Markets (damn Land Cruiser was everywhere) this is the First-Generation BRONCO which holds the styling DNA for the new Bronco launched last year.
Not the first 1973 BRONCO from JADA and surprisingly the tamest in terms of color choice compared to some of the previous bangers. To be honest I like the grey and black scheme. I really would like to get some stickers made and just add a bit of pizzaz to the body. It is screaming out to me to make a few changes and make it my own like a blank canvas.
Couple of the things you won’t find on the actual OVR that you find on this. Slotted disk brakes. An upgrade has happened, and JADA felt Bronco owners would be better off with better brakes. And of course, you won’t have these modern lovely wheels sets (a whole extra set comes with the model complete with axles and screwdriver) that you can interchange. Makes the whole package look better so no one cares too much about the authenticity of these parts.

WHEN THE STANG’S COME TO TOWN
WARNING: The next few pages are going to be a roller coaster of high emotions, YES all of these up close and tear-jerking personal. We are going to tug on your heartstrings like a chariot harness, you can already smell burnt rubber as your footwear melts from the heat of your body, it’s ok to get excited however much you like AutoArt, about these, you are not cheating yourself these are genuinely brilliant.
YES, THIS IS A DECLARATION OF LOVE FOR MANY REASONS. 1. FOR SENDING THIS TO US. I HAVE BEEN DYING TO GET MY BIG BAD WOLF PAWS ON THIS I ALMOST ATE THROUGH THE PACKAGING. I LOVE THIS SO MUCH THAT I WRITE THIS PIECE AMIDST GROOVY MOOD LIGHTING, LISTENING TO LL COOL J.
2. FOR MAKING THIS. FROM THE FIRST TIME, I LAID MY EYES ON THE ART IN ONE OF THEIR EARLIER CATALOGS I WAS SMITTEN HARD. LOOK AT IT!!!!! IS MAISTO IMPORTING THIS FROM AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE? IN THE WORDS OF THE GREAT LL COOL J “SOMETHING LIKE A PHENOMENON” (RECOMMENDED LISTENING WHILE READING). THIS IS ONE OF THOSE HOT MODELS WE SHOULD FILL SOCIAL MEDIA WITH TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE.
I WANT THIS TO BE A RUNAWAY SUCCESS FOR MAISTO, MYSELF AND TEAM FULLY ENDORSE THIS, AND MUSTANG FANS SHOULD BE VIBING WITH THIS IMMEDIATELY.
HONESTLY, YOU DON’T NEED THESE WELL-STYLIZED CLOSEUP PICTURES TAKEN AT VARIOUS ANGLES TO MAKE YOUR DECISIONS, JUST REACH FOR THE PHONE AND CALL YOUR DEALER AND TELL HIM TO BRING ONE. THEN COME BACK TO LOOKING AT OUR STYLIZED PICTURES. TWO-TONE PAINT JOB SPARKLY GUNMETAL GREY ON THE FRONT AND BLACK GLOSS ON THE BACK WITH LUMINOUS GREEN HIGHLIGHTS. THE WHEEL RIMS ARE CUT WELL. THE PAINT IS
FINISHED AND CLEAR COATED NICELY, AND PARTS LIKE THE HEADLIGHT STRUCTURE ARE VISIBLY DETAILED.
COMPETITION FALKEN LOW PROFILE TIRES WRAPPED AROUND BEAUTIFUL ALLOY WHEELS. YOU CAN’T MISS THE GREEN CALLIPER BREMBO DISK BRAKES BEHIND THE WHEEL. A MIX OF CARBON FIBER
AND BLACK GLOSS PARTS IN THE SHAPE OF DIFFUSERS AND BODY KIT BITS. AND TO DRIVE HOME THE DETAIL, THE INTERIOR HAS BEEN GIVEN ATTENTION AND THERE ARE SOME NOTABLE DETAILS TO BE SEEN. OPENING PARTS ALL-ROUND MEANS WE HAVE AN ENGINE BAY AS WELL, OR IN THIS CASE, SHOULD I SAY ENGINE BAE!
AS YOU CAN SEE FOR YOURSELF THE ENGINE IS VERY DETAILED COMPARED TO OTHER MAISTO MODELS IN THE CATEGORY MAKING THIS QUITE SPECIAL. A FEW MORE CREATIVE TWEAKS AND I’M SURE THOSE WITH THE ABILITY CAN TAKE IT A FEW STEPS FURTHER IN ADDING DETAIL.
THIS HAS COME TOGETHER BETTER THAN I EXPECTED, I AM WHOLEHEARTEDLY PLEASED WITH THIS, AND IT’S VERY CLOSE TO BEING THE CAR I WANT TO BE BURIED WITH ONE DAY. THIS SAYS A LOT ABOUT WHAT I’D LIKE TO DRIVE IN THE AFTERLIFE. C’MON PEOPLE FILL THOSE ORDER TICKETS LET’S MAKE THIS SELL-OUT AND SEE WHAT MAISTO DOES NEXT.
ANOTHER BRAND THAT KEEPS GETTING THEIR MUSTANGS PERFECT IN 1/18 SCALE IS GT SPIRIT AND THIS TIME THEY BRING A CLASSIC MUSTANG RE-SPUN WITH A PRIOR DESIGN BODY KIT. IF YOU WERE LOOKING FOR A SHELF PARTNER FOR THE LAST MUSTANG, WE LOOKED AT THIS IS IT!!!
THIS IS A PRIOR DESIGN SHOW CAR DROPPED IN 2019 FOR THE ESSEN MOTOR SHOW IN GERMANY DEMONSTRATING THEIR ABILITY TO BUILD NO, SCULPT METAL WORKS OF ART. AND SO, WE HAVE THE 1969 WIDEBODY MUSTANG GT WITH CUSTOM FRONT SPOILER, HOOD, SIDE SKIRT, REAR DIFFUSER DUCKTAIL SPOILER AND PRIOR DESIGN CREATED PD3 FORGED WHEELS, REDUCED TO 1/18 SCALE PERFECTLY IN RESIN.
THIS WEEK HAS BEEN A MUSTANG DREAM AND PARADISE AT THE OFFICE. SHOOTING THIS WAS AN IMMENSE PLEASURE AND SO WILL THE FEELING OF OWNING IT. IT’S SOOOO GOOD SOME TERRIBLE RUSSIAN GANGSTER’S SON AND FRIENDS WILL BREAK INTO YOUR HOUSE TO STEAL IT, BEAT YOU UP AND KILL YOUR DOG. THAT’S HOW GOOD THIS MODEL IS.
THEN THEY’LL SEE THE GT 500 IN BLACK AND GREY AND TAKE THAT AS WELL. THIS IS STILL AVAILABLE AT A FEW MODEL RETAILERS WE SUGGEST THAT YOU BUY YOURS QUICKLY BEFORE THAT RICH RUSSIAN GANGSTER SON BUYS THEM ALL UP!
WAIT WHAT?!?!?!?!?!? MORE AWESOME MUSTANGS!! AND WE WILL SHOW YOU JUST HOW AWESOME. IN THE MAISTO CATALOGUE THIS CAR IS SIMPLY LABELED 1970 FORD MUSTANG MACH 1. WHICH IT TECHNICALLY IS BUT ALSO NOT. THIS IS A MODEL REPLICA MADE BY MAISTO OF ONE OF THE RAREST MUSTANGS IN THE WORLD.
THE STORY GOES, AS PART OF A PROMOTION THE SPECIAL FORD PROMOTION DIVISION CAME UP WITH A SPECIAL PACKAGE MUSTANG TO BE USED EXCLUSIVELY BY AMERICAN RACEWAYS INTERNATIONAL AS PACE CARS AND PROMO CARS. BUT DUE TO LACK OF FUNDING THE ASSOCIATION FOLDED AND THE CAR WAS OFFERED INSTEAD TO THE DEALERS IN THE KANSAS CITY DISTRICT TO PROMOTE THE MACH 1 AND COBRA TORINO.
THIS IS CALLED THE ‘TWISTER SPECIAL MACH 1’ HENCE THE REASON FOR THE TWISTER TRAMP STAMP ON THE REAR FENDER. NAMED TWISTER AFTER THE REGIONS FREQUENT TORNADOES YEP REMEMBER DOROTHY… ONLY 48 OF THESE WERE BUILT WITH THE 428 SUPER COBRA JET ENGINE AND EVERYTHING YOU SEE ON THIS MODEL CAME AS A SPECIAL PACKAGE FOR THIS EDITION.
THIS IS A WELL SLIPPED IN PIECE OF MUSTANG HISTORY. NICE ONE MAISTO. AND WHAT A BRILLIANT PACKAGE PUT TOGETHER ON A 1/18 SCALE. A BRILLIANT REPLICA OF AN AMAZING MUSTANG STORY WITH OPENING PARTS, DECENT DETAIL AND AT A PRICE YOU CAN NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT. IF YOU ARE A HARDCORE MUSTANG MODEL COLLECTOR, YOU HAVE TO GET THIS.
IN 2021, 17 YEARS HAD PASSED SINCE THE LAST MACH 1 ROLLED OUT OF PRODUCTION. GT SHELBY ARE MUSTANGS TUNED AND MODDED BY SHELBY AMERICA (YOU SHOULD HAVE WATCHED FORD VS FERRARI BY NOW) MACH 1’S ARE THE PERFORMANCE PACKAGE MUSTANGS THAT COME FACTORY FITTED. GT SPIRIT SHOULD BRING US BACK TO THE PRESENT AFTER THAT FANTASTIC DISCOVERY DOWN MUSTANG MEMORY LANE.
COMING FROM THE FACTORY DOESN’T MEAN THE MUSTANG IS TAKEN AND BITS ADDED ON TO IT. NOT AT ALL. WE ARE TALKING BODY REDESIGN, DIFFERENT ENGINE PACKAGES ETC. OF COURSE, WITH GT SPIRIT AND THEIR DEDICATION TO DETAIL YOU GET TO SEE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE GT AND THE MACH 1 FROM THE SAME ERA. WEIRDLY SAME BUT WITH DIFFERENCES LIKE SOME TWINS.
THERE IS NO DOUBT YOU WILL ENJOY THE LEVEL OF DETAIL THIS MODEL HAS TO OFFER AND IF YOU WERE TO GET ALL THE MUSTANGS WE REVIEWED, THIS BRIGHT RED MACH 1 WILL CERTAINLY ROUND OFF THE COLORFUL MUSTANG DISPLAY.
Seated at the top of our listen is the budget entry Mustang from Majorette, but they do a mean casting and all their GT 500 look stunning. This one has the color scheme based on one of the FORD PERFORMANCE RACING school cars.
Next from Tarmac Works, this Mustang is from their Global64 range based on the GT4 car from VOLT racing painted in Acid yellow. Great replication of details from the actual car on to 1/64 scale and seasoned with a very good price tag.
Finally, our heart goes out to MINI GT for their wonderful well detailed 1/64 models that include the Mustang GT 500 Shelby in dark blue with white racing stripes. If you are looking to get a Mustang GT 500 with any racing mods or livery this will do you well.
NO SMOKE WITHOUT FIRE AND THIS IS A RAGING BEAST. WE HOPE THIS SORT OF THING IS GOING TO BE A REGULAR WITH SOLIDO BECAUSE AS PORSCHE FANS GO THIS IS A SHELF STOPPER.
There is nothing we can say at this point about SOLIDO’s PORSCHE RSR models that we
amazing models in varying colors, liveries, series and even tuner based models, which is
snazzy purple suit stitched by an artisan tailor. The black Fuchs wheels bring the whole package
This year PORSCHE celebrates 50 years of the ducktail spoiler and of course, this model reminds us of how thankful we are for this wonderful design invention by Porsche that has been adopted by many sports cars across the years. But it always looks natural and perfect on the rear of a Porsche RS upwards.
The body color goes through the interior of the car and coupled with the interior details it looks pretty good. We can see the RECARO branded seats, the dials on the dash area and even branded steering wheel. Porsche fans you are going to love this.
THE MOMENT WE’VE HAVE BEEN WAITING A WHILE FOR! SOLIDO’S PROMISE OF RWB HAS COME TRUE AND WE COULDN’T BE HAPPIER. MORE RWBS IN 1/18 SCALE AND BOTH ARE VERY SPECIAL. THE PANDORA ONE IS THE FIRST RWB TO BE BUILT IN THE US.
To be launched at the SEMA AUTO Show Mark of FATLACE and Nakai of RWB got together stripped down a Porsche 964 and built from the ground up the 300+Hp beast that took the title of literally being the illest car of the show.
Creating cars even though they are copies on a small scale is
difficult, especially trying to keep track of all the little things that need to go in like a tiny tow hook somewhere or riveted front skirting with the rivets visible and in order. But SOLIDO has kept it together and delivered another brilliant addition to the growing portfolio. And considering the size of the RWB franchise, it is a line that can get very busy.
Even the interior has been done well and is quite detailed, shockingly detailed which adds to the fact that with this you are going to get an insane bang for your buck. Even the bright beautiful satin green color especially chosen for this car is well applied on the scale model.
THE SECOND RWB FROM SOLIDO IS THE HIBIKI UK’S FIRST RWB ALSO BUILT ON A 964 PLATFORM AND HONESTLY AFTER RAGING ABOUT HOW GOOD PANDORA ONE IS, WE HAVE RUN OUT OF THINGS TO COMPLIMENT THESE CARS ON. THEY ARE SERIOUSLY GOOD AND HARDCORE RWB FANS ARE LOVING THIS.
The great thing about presenting model cars is that the pictures speak louder than words and to be fair an RWB itself is visually loud and so we were able to take some very loud pictures of the car and all the wonderful details it possesses.
We would like to remind you of the one big advantageous thing about SOLIDO is that it is of great quality considering the price you pay, most other brands that do RWB models tend to be almost double the price.
