SETH FIIFI AFFUL Seth Fiifi Afful is a self taught Contemporary Ghanaian artist who lives in Accra, the Capital city of Ghana. He was born on June 1st, 1990, and is the 3rd of four siblings. Seth has been sketching since age 9. Even though he was introduced to the art world at an early age by his brother Foster Sakyiamah, he went on to graduate from college with a diploma in agriculture. Seth uses patterns to interpret and project unity among humanity. He uses uniformly arranged floral patterns for the background and clothing of his figurative paintings. Seth believes in the mutual nature of humanity and by using the same flower pattern on the body of his figures, he is demonstrating that while we are all of different complexion, we are all basically of the same flesh. Irrespective of our individual physical body appearances, culture, race, religion, sex, and gender, we are all united as one by our DNA. Seth uses the uniformly arranged patterns on the background and clothing of his work to interpret the bond between humanity which moves in one direction. The green eyes of his human art figures symbolize the richness of the world when humanity is united.

DANIELLE PROCACCIO Painting, for Danielle, is a spiritual journey. Each stage of life brings about changes. Even as a child, she always wanted to capture life's moments and preserve each precious memory. This desire became her inspiration; to observe the natural world, to preserve that image, and then share it. Danielle wants each viewer to look at the piece and be struck with an emotion or maybe a distant memory. Danielle Procaccio's work is a combination of different mediums. Her multi-layered composition gives the canvas texture and movement fusing the indigenous with the sophisticated. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and shows since 1995. Today, her art can be found in a number of corporate and private collections worldwide. Through her art, Danielle has been able to make a spiritual connection with herself. As you view her art, accept her invitation to make your own connection.

ALEX KATZ Alex Katz is an American figurative artist best-known for his paintings, prints and sculptures. He attended The Cooper Union in New York from 1946 to 1949 and later studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine from 1949 to 1950. The Skowhegan School cultivated his love for painting through its emphasis on painting en plein air and from life. Katz once stated that natural light was the only way to achieve an objects true color. Every year since the 1950s, Katz has spent the summer painting at his 19th century farmhouse in Maine. He is inspired by the freedom and spontaneity of nature. Katz also drew inspiration from Jackson Pollock's use of space, which lead him to paint an all-over series of trees. Katz's work has been described as an environment the viewers can immerse themselves in. In the 1980s, Katz had become famous for his "bold simplicity," bright colors and flattened objects, which earned him recognition as a pop artist. The majority of his work is limited to portraits, landscapes/flowers and his wife, Ada, who has been the subject of over 250 of his works. Katz also developed Cutouts, which he paints on panels of wood or aluminum and mounts onto stands or the wall. Alex Katz continues to work in New York and Maine. Katz's work is included in over 100 public collections worldwide, including the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the MoMA, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., the Philadelphia Museum of Art and The Whitney Museum of American Art.

JIM DINE Jim Dine is one of the few original Pop artists still working today. He is best known for his vibrant images of hearts, palettes, robes and Pinocchio. Dine moved to New York upon receiving a B.F.A. from Ohio University in 1957. He quickly became active in the local art scene through his involvement with artists Claes Oldenburg and Allan Kaprow and musician John Cage in exhibiting "Happenings," performance art that was popular in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Dine's work was included in one of the first Pop Art shows in America, New Painting of Common Objects, which was held at the Norton Simon Museum in California and featured other Modern artists as Andy Warhol, Ed Ruscha and Roy Lichtenstein. Though commonly associated with the Pop Art movement, Dine prefers to be recognized for his gestural approach, Dada assemblage and collage techniques. Dine started his assemblages in the 1960s, often attaching some of his own belongings to the canvas. Dine finds inspiration through his memories. He paints objects that have a strong personal meaning and a sense of identity. When interviewed about his Heart series, Dine stated, "I use them as a template for all my emotions."

DAVID HOCKNEY David Hockney is widely-known as the most influential British artist. He is renowned for his large-scale bright, semi-abstract paintings. Hockney graduated from the Royal College of Art in London in 1962 and was given his first solo exhibition in 1963. In 1964, he moved to California, where he further developed his artistic style and drew inspiration from his new environment. Though he implores vibrant colors in his work, Hockney's realistic portraits and landscapes recall French Impressionism. Hockney proves his artistic versatility through almost every media, including stage design and technology. Despite his age, Hockney welcomes the use of the iPad, which he uses for all of his drawing purposes. "What fascinates me is not just technology but the technology of picture-making," says Hockney. "I spend more time painting, of course, but I treat the iPad as a serious tool. The iPad is influencing the paintings now with its boldness and speed." The de Young Museum in San Francisco presented a collection of Hockney's 400 iPad drawings in 2013.

JAMES ROSENQUIST James Rosenquist is an American artist known for his significant contributions to the Pop Art movement. Rosenquist studied painting at the University of Minnesota and later moved to New York to study at the Art Students League on scholarship in 1955. His first job out of school was as a billboard painter, which has heavily influenced his painting style for the rest of his career. Rosenquist became particularly fascinated with advertisements and began incorporating consumer products into his work, creating large-scale works as his internationally famous work F-111 (1965), which is 10 feet high and 86 feet long. He made murals for the New York World's Fair, created installations for galleries and held retrospectives across the globe. His work is very political, often responding to American militarism, commercialism and the American Dream. Rosenquist's record sale was achieved in 2014 when Be Beautiful (1964) sold for $2.8 million at Sotheby's New York.

FRANK STELLA Frank Stella is an American artist known as a key player in shifting the artistic trend from Abstract Expressionism to Minimalism. He studied history at Princeton University. Upon graduating, he moved to New York City in 1958 to pursue his art career. Stella wanted to eliminate any external meaning from his work and once famously said, "What you see is what you see." Stella was influenced by Jasper John's work composed of flat surfaces and simple shapes. Stella's Black Paintings consist of parallel stripes done in house paint, which aimed to highlight the two dimensionality of the canvas. He later began incorporating the use of color in his printmaking and experimented in the third dimension with his large-scale, architectural sculptures. In 2009, he received the National Medal of Arts by Barack Obama for outstanding contributions to the arts. Stella has been given numerous retrospectives in the United States, Europe and Japan.

RICHARD SERRA Richard Serra is an American minimalist sculptor known for his sheet metal installations. He earned his B.A. from University of California, Santa Barbara in 1961 and his M.F.A. from Yale University School of Art and Architecture in 1964. Serra was inspired by the teachers and artists that he met at Yale, most notably Philip Guston and Chuck Close. He was also influenced by his work in steel mills as a teenager and his father's job as a pipe-fitter. Serra was involved with the Process Art Movement, which concentrates on the physical process of art making and the characteristics of the materials utilized. In 1966, he made his first sculptures out of industrial materials as fiberglass and rubber. He experimented by throwing molten lead against his studio wall, later turning to rolling, cutting, propping and stacking. In the 1970s, Serra began his series of large-scale Installation Drawings, which pinned directly to the wall and painted in black paintstick. His work examines ideas of space and form, as well as the tension between gravity and weight. His enormous sculptures are supported by their own weight, drawing attention to the nature of the material. Serra once said that his goal is "to engage the viewer's body relation to his thinking and walking and looking, without being overly heavy-handed about it," and that art is a "broadening of experiences."
