Welcome to the 15th Annual Rainbow Hills Ranch production sale. It is a great pleasure to be involved in the Angus seed stock production. As we look back on the past year, it has been a tough one for many including ourselves.

There has been a mixed bag of weather across the country making for some challenges for some and some large feed supplies for others. As farmers and ranchers, we always find a way to make the best of the situation at hand and succeed.

For those of you that who are not familiar with our operation, we are a fourth, generation ranch that has been producing Angus seed stock for 58 years. We are a family focused operation with the cattle being our bread and butter, you will find that our cow herd is managed without a lot of pampering, I believe that our cows need to work for us and not us for them. Our calves never see creep feed and thus allowing us a better picture of the mother cows worth in the herd. With the ever, growing competition for pasture, we need to focus on the productivity of our cow herds, we can increase the profitability by increasing the pounds of beef produced per acre of grass. You will find that we have focused on genetics that will work well, providing growth, calving ease, fertility, structural conformation, you will also find cattle that are grown, not fattened so you as a customer get many years of use with your purchases.

We are proud of our sale offing this year. You will find cattle with many traits to meet your needs, and cattle that are raised to provide years of use. Our bull pen is a uniform group of bulls developed to meet your needs and provide years of use. Our selection of heifers this year is excellent you will find females that will make great additions to any cow herd and will offer you great value for your dollar.

POUNDS EQUAL PROFIT For Example: A bull that will add 30lbs to the weaning weight of each of his calves, mated to 30 cows per year for 4 years. Let`s say we sell them for $2/lbs 30 x 30 = 900 x 4 x $2/lbs = $7200 So, with this said, this bull should produce you an extra $1800/ year on the same amount of grass, in turn making that bull worth more.

DIRECTIONS TO RAINBOW HILLS

TERMS AND CONDITIONS Cattle will be sold under the terms and conditions of the Canadian Angus Association. Full settlement needs to be arranged before release and transfers.

SIGHT UNSEEN PURCHASES We would like you to attend the sale, but if you are unable to Warren or any of the sales staff would be glad to assist you. We are not satisfied unless you are. There will be a cellular booster on site sale day, but if you need assistance please enquire prior to the sale.

HERD MANAGEMENT AND HEALTH We make a special effort to manage our cattle so they will perform to the maximum for you. We do not creep feed our calves as we feel that using weaning weights is a tool to indicate a cows performance. Our calves are weaned in late October and fed a high roughage diet, you will find that our cattle are not carrying the flesh common to some purebred herds, these cattle will respond quickly to grass and will last longer for you. Our cattle are all vaccinated in June with 8-Way and Cattle Master 5, and then this is repeated again in October with an application of Ivermec.

Our cows survive under normal conditions without a lot of pampering.

BREEDING GUARANTEE We stand behind our cattle and if you get a bull or a female that will not breed please let us know in a reasonable fashion and we will look after you. We will not be responsible for physical mismanagement, and not provide more than the original sale price.
