These ships are simply jam packed with action from mini golf, surf simulators, rock climbing walls, ice rinks, indoor skydiving, zip lines and bumper cars and so much more! There are vast pool areas and yet also quiet places to read and relax –at night time there are speciality restaurants, Broadway type shows, dance clubs and casinos. Watch out for the ice shows and street performers on the promenade and the amazing high divers in the Aqua Theatre – simply breathtaking!...and unique. These ships feel more like a resort than a ship.

Going on holiday with the kids in tow is always a challenge! Trying to have some family time while making sure everyone gets to do “their thing” can be a struggle. But with the amazing activities on some of these ships, all in one place, it makes things that little bit easier. We will help you chose a cruise line that is specific to the ages of your children to ensure that everyone can participate and have fun!
We want to Cruise - But how do we choose?
Let’s have a think about what is right for you as a family – if your little crew members are busy bees you will want an active kids club with loads to do – they will want to meet friends and do lots of fun activities together such as games, competitions and parties.
If they like more creative things then the arts/ crafts and computer stations will appeal to them. For the competitive ones football, basketball, race tracks and dodgem cars will be all the rage.
Depending on their ages we will make sure that pools and aqua parks on the ship fit your age profiles we can advise on babysitting for that well deserved night off. The “cool” dudes that fit into the teens and tweens will want chill out zones and activities that challenge them, places where they can hang out and meet new shipmates in their specifically zoned areas. (babies in nappies are not allowed in pools).

Many cruise lines offer simply amazing facilities for kids on board with highly trained child care professionals. Disney Cruises offer meet and greets with superheroes and laid back lounges for the older members of the family.
Other cruise lines offer an opportunity to learn circus tricks, arts-and-crafts and educational type programmes (age appropriate) vampire nights, movies under the stars, slumber parties, basketball, football matches – LEGO themed play areas and opportunities to meet Shrek and the DreamWorks characters. Kids or family excursions can be arranged at ports of call.

Some cruise lines offer super big cabins tailor-made to suit larger families – some interconnect or may be split level duplex style– they may have pull down beds or bunks or perhaps separate bedrooms or even partitions separating sleeping areas from living areas. There are a variety of dining options – most ships have buffet restaurants close to the pools and these are casual affairs. There will be one or maybe more large, sit down, white linen dining spaces which will be served by waiters and are more formal. There are a variety of independant speciality restaurants, these are more intimate and serve dishes such as sushi, steaks, Mexican and Italian (supplement). We will advise you based on your ship selection.
WHAT SHALL I WEAR?

Cabins are surprisingly spacious and have clever storage options for those “holiday clothes” if you intend to take excursions you will need comfortable loose clothing and walking shoes. During the day its casual – shorts, sundresses, togs. Dinner is smart casual for men casual shirts and long trousers and for ladies, dresses, skirts and trousers. Some ships have formal or “cruise elegant” evenings when you get all dressed up in cocktail wear and jacket/tie or button down shirt for men. There are alternative dining options on these nights.
