Cass County Electric Cooperative offers special rates for charging your electric vehicle at home. These rates are designed to keep energy affordable, encourage efficient charging habits, and support the growth of clean transportation in our communities.

A) Straight Electric

Straight rate $.089/kWh + purchase power adjustment (PPA)

Best option for those who want to charge anytime they want.

Rate Options (A-C)

B) Time-of-Day

On-peak – Monday-Friday 6-9 AM and 4-8 PM at $.222 per kWh + purchase power adjustment (PPA)

Non-peak – All other hours at $.052/kWh + purchase power adjustment (PPA)

Best options for homes without an existing off-peak meter. No cost investment to switch to this rate. Member can charge at anytime that is convenient, however is subject to peak pricing.

The current electric rate is $.089/kWh + purchase power adjustment (PPA)(see Straight Electric)

Saturdays, Sundays, and the following holidays will be considered Non-peak: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Washington’s Birthday (Presidents’ Day), Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and

Rate Options

C) Off-Peak

Off-peak rate as low as *$.052/kWh + purchase power adjustment (PPA)

The best option if you want to save money and there are other off-peak loads in the home and/or already have an off-peak meter.

Must be controlled on off-peak and sub-metered.

Additional $5/meter charge

If there is no existing off-peak meter, member pays contractor for installation of second meter and control device. Contact an electrician for installation costs.

Charger requirements:

Level 2 charger must be rated at 240 volts and on a dedicated 240-volt circuit

Charging times:

October - May: noon to 5 PM and 11 PM to 7 AM

June - September: midnight to 10 AM

(All other hours there is no power to charger.)

Charger incentive:

$50/kW ($750 max per charger) upon inspection

Cass County Electric provides ripple control

*Electric rate is dependent on other off-peak loads on the account and the time of year.
