GRAPHIC NOVEL

MANGA

PICTURE BOOK

A book typically for children in which illustrations are as important as-or more important than- the words in telling the story.

DOODLE FICTION

Consists of cartoon doodles with handwritten graphics place of traditional font. Since it has drawings, it enhances the story and often adding humorous elements.

Also known as literary nonfiction or narrative nonfiction. Uses literary styles and techniques to create factually accurate narratives.

CHICK LIT

A genre of fiction which addresses issues of modern womanhood, often humorously and lightheartedly. Typically features a female protagonist whose womanhood is heavily thermalized in the plot.

"She's candy-sweet at the surface and probably terrible at communicating negative emotions. Meanwhile, I'm like a sour patch kid on the surface, but will happily detail all the ways I think the world is going to hell."

"Like a good book or an incredible outfit, being on vacation transports you into another version of yourself."

"I have a theory. Hating someone feels disturbingly similar to being in love with them. I've had a lot of time to compare love and hate, and these are my observations: Love and hate are visceral."

DIGI FICTION

Combines 3 media: book, media/video, and internet website. In order to get the full story, readers must engage in navigation, reading, and viewing in all 3 formats.

TEXT-TALK NOVELS
