PHILOSOPHY

Our primary goal for professional learning is to change educator practices to increase student achievement. Greeley-Evans School District 6 desires to hire quality certified employees and then to support and develop every one, so that each person is effective, accomplished, or exemplary. The professional learning initiatives in District 6 are designed to ensure that every teacher or special service provider has the tools and expertise to teach every student effectively.

Teachers and other certified staff set individual goals through the staff evaluation process. They may pursue these goals through district-provided training, college courses and advanced degrees.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IS MUCH MORE THAN TRAINING!

BUILDING-FOCUSED

Each building reviews student results and sets goals as part of the Unified Improvement Process. Building leadership and teacher leaders develop a professional learning plan to ensure that teachers have the skills and support to implement the identified strategies that will increase student learning and success.

SYSTEM-CENTERED

The Strategic Plan and District Improvement Plan indicate areas of focus for professional learning with opportunities differentiated by grade level, content area and/or personal expertise.
