‘I want CASBA to still be here ’Martyn Spooner, Head of CASBA Ambassadors 2022
35 years of speaking up in Birmingham
2
We listen to what you say
We help you to get your voice heard
We help you make the changes you want
3
People say we are good “I always tell people CASBA are the best charity for listening to people with learning disabilities.”
We are different No other charity in Birmingham is like CASBA.
We make a difference
Families stay together. This is best.

QPM did a test to see if we do advocacy right. They said yes!
Martyn and Janet are Trustees. We always listen to people with learning disabilities before we decide what to do, together. People with learning disabilities are equal citizens in society. People with learning disabilities get their voices heard. 5
Our plan for the next five years Ambassadors, staff and volunteers made this plan together.
The plan tells us what CASBA is going to do over the next five years.
Working together, we agreed on five things CASBA will do. 6
1.
We welcome CASBA is a place where everyone is welcome.
CASBA will be in an office that’s easy for everyone to come to.
CASBA’s work will have even more citizens with learning disabilities leading it. CASBA will use Easy Read for everything we do. 7
2.
We support CASBA will help more people with learning disabilities to speak out. More companies will give jobs to people with a learning disability because of CASBA’s training. CASBA staff will be well looked after - with enough money and good conditions. CASBA will work in more places where people need us across Birmingham.

3.
We make a difference CASBA will keep more families together, by making our parents project bigger.
CASBA will get better at telling other people how important our work is.
CASBA will find new ways to explain what we do so everyone understands.
CASBA will make sure our citizens’ voices are heard in Birmingham and all over the country. 9
Everyone knows us
4. CASBA?
CASBA is not an easy name to understand. We will think about changing it.
We want people to understand who we are and what we do.
We want other organisations to understand why we are a good partner.
We want people to know us all across Birmingham. 10
5.
We are strong CASBA will fundraise in different ways and from different places.
CASBA will have more staff and more volunteers to support more citizens.
CASBA will start a business that makes money and does good work.
CASBA will find more people to give us money every month. 11
Do you want to help? The ideas in this strategy have all been produced by citizens with learning disabilities working together with our staff.
Like all charities, our success depends on how much money we raise.
We need money to pay for our services. Donate to CASBA if you can.
