Building a sustainable future Annual Conference 2022 The Houses of Parliament

Overview The British Institute of Kitchen, Bedroom & Bathroom Installation (BiKBBI) will be hosting a very special Annual Conference & Awards Reception at The Houses of Parliament on Tuesday the 1st February 2022.

Set to be a major moment in the KBB calendar, the event will be attended by over 150 delegates and include contributions from key industry and political figures. The event will be an oppor tunity for KBB leaders to come together and address key issues and to highlight the impor tance of suppor ting the industry to national policymakers.

The event comes at an impor tant time as the industry faces the challenges and oppor tunities following the COVID-19 pandemic; gets to grips with long term skills needs and seeks recognition as a vital par t of the UK economy.

Guest speakers and a new event format will provide BiKBBI and par tners with the oppor tunity to update stakeholders on progress and plans for the for thcoming year, as well as a stage to recognise special achievements in the industry. The event will launch an ambitious year for BiKBBI, including plans for KBB 2022, an expansion into the US and the acceleration of its Apprenticeship programme.

The event Theme

The overall theme for the event will be ‘Preparing for the future’ with a focus on the longer-term opportunities and challenges facing the KBB industry.

These will include steps being taken on skills and recruitment; the need to adapt to new environmental policies and regulations; and issues around supply chains following the UK’s depar ture from the EU. The event will also look at the oppor tunities new technology offers to bring innovative products and services to market - including BiKBBI’s pioneering Protect My Install platform.

Format The event will be split into three par ts, two taking place in venues across the Houses of Parliament estate.

Part One: Conference at Portcullis House (10am-2pm)

The day will begin with a formal conference in the Attlee Room of Por tcullis House, the prestigious Parliamentary office building. Following a welcome by BiKBBI’s Patron, Stephen Metcalfe MP, this section of the event will feature speeches, presentations and panel discussions involving BiKBBI’s par tners and industry stakeholders. The morning will conclude with a speech by Damian Walters, BiKBBI’s Chief Executive.

Part Two: Reception & networking in the House of Commons, Pavilion Terrace (4pm-6pm)

The second par t of the day will be an oppor tunity to relax and network at a drinks reception within the iconic Parliament building itself. Following an opening speech from a key KBB industry figure, delegates will have an oppor tunity to network with fellow industry leaders.

Part Three: Awards Dinner by the river (8pm-midnight)

The final par t of this very special event will see the delegation head to the Park Plaza Hotel, located within a shor t five-minute walk across Westminster Bridge from the Houses of Parliament. The last par t of the days’ formalities will congregate delegates within the famous Park Plaza hotel, overlooking the iconic River Thames for a three course silver service meal & awards presentation – an oppor tunity to recognise special achievement over the last year.

Promotion The event will be promoted across all of BiKBBI’s platforms both before and after.

This will include prominent placement within the organisation’s website and social media channels, as well as in the Installer Magazine - which has a circulation of over 14,000. The event will also be suppor ted with a dedicated PR campaign to secure coverage in national and trade press and will be broadcast to an international delegate, to include US markets. A Conference brochure will be printed for delegates, with a digital version distributed to over 14,000 industry contacts post event.
