with TANYA DUFFY In our spring issue we feature Tanya Duffy for our staff Q & A.
Tanya leads the admin team at HQ and works with our key retail partnerships. An experienced team leader, Tanya’s claim to fame is her son Thomas who plays football for England Schoolboys.

• I joined the institute in January 2020 as Team Leader. I work mainly within the retail department of the BiKBBI, supporting the retailers and their installers. I also oversee other departments within the organisation and give support where necessary to the teams and the CEO.
What interests you most about your association with the institute?
• I have learnt a lot since joining BiKBBI about the industry that I would never have otherwise known. Hopefully I can use this knowledge to help the institute grow and become even more efficient in our services.
What one thing in the industry would you develop further?
• To further offer education, training and development via apprenticeships around installation, so we fill the skills gap in the industry.
On the lighter side, who or what makes you laugh? • I like Stand-up, (Lee Evans, Michael McIntyre etc), relating to the situations they make fun of. I also like the tv shows Friday Night Dinner, League of Their Own and Gogglebox. I’m easily pleased
Name 3 people past or present that you would invite to a dinner party?

• Harry Rednapp – for the amusing stories he tells • Gordan Ramsey – to do the cooking • Hugh Jackman – to look at

Who would you least like to invite?
• My Ex-Husband • Donald Trump
Favourite sport and team or sports person?
• I enjoy watching Football as both my boys play, I support their teams. They support Manchester United. • I like tennis and athletics and when I was younger I used to play Badminton for the county.
Favourite movie?
• I do like Mary Poppins, the original. But I enjoy action films, the Jason Bourne movies, Mission Impossible, John Wick etc.
Name one possession you could never do without?

• I’m struggling with this question as I’m not very materialistic but I certainly would miss my car as I need to run my children about (Mums taxi)
What animal do you most resemble at work?
• I’m more of an insect…..a busy, busy BEE

• Treat others how you would like to be treated • It takes a long time to earn someone’s trust and a second to lose it - so think • Always put yourself in the other persons position.
Tell us a secret about yourself?
• If I told you that it wouldn’t be a secret ssssshhhhhhh
What’s been the best day of your life (keep it clean)?
• Apart from having the two boys become part of my life, the day my eldest son was selected to Play for England U18 Schoolboys football and watching him play in an England Shirt.
Finally, what’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
• Never ask permission to be yourself!


Name your 3 Desert Island discs?
• Don Mclean – American Pie (Or the Madonna version, its shorter) • Remix of you’ve got to show me love…… tuuuuuuuune (Play this on repeat) • Any from Ed Sheeran but the song ‘Take me to church’
And at home?
• An orangutan – they have a very strong bond between the mother and her young. I read the young rely solely on their mother for food and transport…. That is exactly me! Although where the young orangutan stay with their mum for just 6-7 years mine are now 14 and 18!
Name your first car?
• Blue Mini Metro. I won’t buy any more blue cars as I have either smashed them or they have had serious mechanical faults with them…. Obviously blue is not my lucky colour.
