REPORT President's report

Welcome to the June 2023 edition of the journal!

A big thank you to our first journal guest editor Surekha Sridhar who took the reins of the March journal with a focus on health and indoor air quality. Our editor for this edition is Kristen Clarke who has put together papers with a focus on modelling. We hope you enjoy this edition as it delves into a range of projects and important applications for modelling within areas of research, assessment, and policy.

Earlier this year our Council and office met to discuss all things CASANZ and with an aim to update our corporate plan for the next two years. The updated plan has a strategic focus on our training and events calendar for the next few years, marketing and communication, and corporate governance. The plan is currently in draft and will be released in time for discussion at our annual general meeting later in the year.

If you can believe it, the 2024 conference is almost only one year away! Apart from being in a stunning location (Hobart), next year’s conference will be one not to be missed. We have new partnerships to announce, brand new initiatives, and some very exciting site visits to complement the program. It’s definitely not too early to start thinking about papers now. A big thank you to our new conference and scientific committee which I understand is almost 20 people strong! It’s excellent to see so many interested volunteers within the society from different backgrounds coming together to make both the process and the event as successful and enjoyable as possible.
