VALE DA PIPA RESIDENCE, AN AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECT IN LAGOA, TAKES A DECISIVE STEP FORWARD WITH PROTOCOL SIGNING Carvoeiro Branco, a real estate developer based in the Algarve, has taken a decisive step towards the delivery of the Vale da Pipa Residence, an affordable housing project developed jointly with Teixeira, Pinto & Soares, S.A. (TPS), a construction and engineering company from Northern Portugal. The development will comprise 304 apartments and 20 housing plots in the municipality of Lagoa. This progress follows the formalization of a cooperation protocol for the reinforcement of the public wastewater sanitation system, signed yesterday, January 8th, between the project developer, Carvoeiro Branco, the Algarve Hydrographic Region Administration (ARH Algarve), and Lagoa Municipal Council. This agreement enables the implementation of the technical solution required for wastewater treatment, one of the main outstanding technical issues in the subdivision process, which had partially delayed the project’s progress in recent years. With this step, the necessary conditions are now in place to complete the final phase of the subdivision approval process, followed by the start of infrastructure works and, at a later stage, the beginning of commercialization. Vale da Pipa Residence positions itself as the largest affordable housing project currently under development in the Western Algarve, addressing a structural shortage in housing supply in the region and contributing to a sustainable, long-term solution for access to housing in the Algarve. Interest in the project has been significant, with over 250 expressions of interest already registered, reflecting the relevance and urgency of affordable housing solutions in the current context of the Algarve.
