WAYS TO PAY Don’t let the thought of fees and finance deter you from developing your skills and qualifications. It really couldn’t be easier and there are lots of ways to help you pay, from loans and bursaries to the funding for low earners which covers course fees for anyone earning less than £20,000.

Unemployed and on eligible benefits If you are studying for a qualification course and are receiving eligible benefits, then many courses will be free. See courses marked with a C

Free first full Level 2 or 3 course for 19–23 year olds If you are aged between 19–23 and are studying for your first full Level 2 or 3 course then the course is free.

Earning less than £20k?

If your annual earnings are less than £20,000 (full or part-time) then many of our courses (up to Level 2) will be free. See courses marked with a C

Tuition Fee Loans for Higher Education Tuition Fee Loans cover the cost of tuition fees for HNCs, HNDs or Foundation Degrees. This loan is not based on income and there is no upper age limit for applying. Relevant courses are marked with a T

STUDY NEAR GO FAR ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION If you are returning to education after a break or don’t have the qualifications to start a Higher Education course, our Access to HE courses are designed to update your skills and prepare you for study at a higher level in just one year.

HIGHER EDUCATION ADVANCED LEARNER LOANS If you are aged 24+ and studying a Level 3 course or 19–23 and studying for your second Level 3 course, you may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the costs of your course fees. If you study an Access course and then complete a degree the cost of your loan may be written off.

Advanced Learner Loan Bursary If you are in receipt of an Advanced Learner Loan (above) and from a low income household, this bursary will help towards childcare, travel, and compulsory course material costs. Eligible courses are marked with an A

ENGLISH FOR SPEAKERS OF OTHER LANGUAGES (ESOL) Our courses have an excellent reputation for helping people of all ages whose first language is not English. Our courses can help you improve your skills for work or further study. We teach beginner to advanced level courses to develop your speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary and punctuation skills. You will need to attend an initial assessment and you will then be allocated to the right course to suit you.
