ensemble biographies Becca Robertson Hello! My name is Becca Robertson. I am a sophomore Music Theatre major here at Carthage, and I am from Johnsburg, Illinois. I am currently a part of Merely Players Improv Comedy, and the Public Relations Officer for the group as well. Productions I have been involved in here CRY IT OUT as Jessie, THE CHRISTIANS as Pastor Paul, ROMEO AND JULIET WALK INTO A BAR as Claire/Old Capulet, and EURYDICE as Loud Stone. Thank you so much for supporting the arts during this time, and I hope you enjoy the show! Benjamin Cisco I am a freshman Music Theatre and theatre Education major. I have previously played the Father in this spring’s mainstage production of EURYDICE, and Daniel/Fetus 1 in SMOKEFALL in the studio theatre. Additionally I have been in productions of ALMOST MAINE, LEAVING IOWA, and CATCH ME IF YOU CAN during high school. I am also a member of the improv group at Carthage, The Merely Players. Brandon Poler I’m a sophomore at Carthage College! I am a playwright, debuting my first play this month! Past productions I have been in at Carthage are Sweet Charity (2020), and The Baltimore Waltz (2020). In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my dog, Mazikeen, and reading new plays! I hope you enjoy the show! Bree Meinke Hi! My name is Bree Meinke and I am a freshman music theatre major. I am super excited to be a part of my first show at Carthage! ensemble biographies Hannah Czaplicki Hi! I’m a sophomore Music Theatre major. My past projects at Carthage include Assistant Stage Managing WOMEN ON THE VERGE…, playing Meghan/Department Chair in ROMEO AND JULIET WALK INTO A BAR, and acting in the Directing Scenes. Thank you Deonte, Colleen, Melissa, and my castmates for this unforgettable experience! Heather Hellquist A second semester Music Theatre major/Business minor. I currently participate in Carthage Treble Choir, as well as the show Little Fighter. I performed as May in The Last Train to Nibroc last semester, and have previously played Katherine in Newsies, and Helena in A Midsummer Night‘s Dream. Jack Myers I am so proud to be a part of Our Time. I am a Junior, music theatre Major at Carthage, where I was last seen in Sister Act as Eddie, followed by Herman in Sweet Charity. Never have I felt so personally connected to a project, as I do with Our Time. Julian Wilkerson Hello! I’m Julian Wilkerson, I’m a music theatre and music ed double major, and I’m very excited to get to perform in Our Time! I’d like to thank Deonte, Colleen, and Melissa for all their hard work with us. Lane Breimhorst Hi, I’m Lane! I’m a sophomore music theatre major and Spanish minor. I’ve been doing workshops since coming to Carthage, including “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” with Thomas Novak. I’m also looking forward to being a part of “Songs for a New World” this upcoming May Term. I hope you enjoy our work for this production! Marielle Shiring I am a sophomore double majoring in Arts Administration and Theatre with a minor in English. Previous roles at Carthage include Anna in THE BALTIMORE WALTZ and Mary/Benvolio in ROMEO AND JULIET WALK INTO A BAR. Personal favorite performances of mine include Illona in SHE LOVES ME (Edgewood High

This past January, I was the Administrative Assistant for the Region 3 Kennedy Center College Theatre Festival. I also work in Carthage’s Office of Performing & Visual Arts as the Arts Events Assistant and a House Manager. I would love to thank all of my friends and family, especially my mom, for always supporting me! I hope you enjoy our show! Nate Myers Hi! I, Nate Myers, I am currently a Sophomore at Carthage majoring in Music Theatre and Music Composition. Sophie Michalski My name is Sophie Michalski and I am a junior Music Theatre major here at Carthage. I am beyond excited to be a part of this Music Theatre Workshop, it has been such an amazing experience and I feel so lucky to be able to share it with such wonderful people! I hope you enjoy the show!
production team biographies Deonté Warren (Director/Music Director) is currently a candidate for his Master of Music in Music Theatre Vocal Pedagogy (2021) at Carthage College where he is also an adjunct professor of musical theatre. In addition to a robust private studio, working with singers of all levels from beginners to Broadway performers, he is also a Senior Voice Instructor for The Voice Lab, Inc. based out of Chicago. There, Deonté works with The Voice Lab in their goal to provide transgender and gender nonconforming voice users of all types “a safe, affirming, and creative space to explore gender and voice and develop new techniques to help express yourself authentically.” As a performer, Deonté has most recently been seen on Broadway in Disney’s “Aladdin.” He has also performed internationally on cruise ships and on the National/
production team biographies International Tours of “Sister Act” and “Dreamgirls.” His debut album “Love Essential (Live in New York)” can be found everywhere music is streamed and sold. I am so grateful to this incredible cast for their honesty, vulnerability, and incredibly hard work. And I’m immensely grateful to Collen and Melissa for being such brilliant, gracious, and enthusiastic collaborators. This has been a joy! Colleen Bielman (Vocal Coach) I am graduate student at Carthage, and so proud to be vocal coaching the talented students of MT Workshop this semester! Before attending Carthage for music theatre voice pedagogy, I earned my BFA in music theatre performance from Western Michigan University, traveled the country with Missoula Children’s theatre, and started vocal coaching. After graduating, I plan to continue growing my fabulous voice studio and encourage all of my students to confidently follow their dreams. Melissa Kelly Cardamone (Asst Music Director/Accompanist) has been a staff accompanist and vocal coach with Carthage College since 2010. She is a classically trained soprano and has been an accompanist since the age of 10. At Carthage College her duties include playing for the Carthage Treble Choir and the Carthage Chorale. She accompanies and music directs some musical theater workshop classes and plays in the pit for their performances. In addition, students coach individually with Melissa on their recital repertoire, audition material, or lesson work. She enjoys playing for student recitals and assisting with the annual Christmas fest. Ms. Cardamone is grateful for the opportunity she has had to travel to China, Tanzania, Florida, and throughout the Midwest on tours with both of her choirs. Melissa has sung and played in the Milwaukee area with companies such as Milwaukee Opera Theatre, the Sunset Playhouse, the Florentine Opera, Milwaukee Chamber Theater, The Belle Ensemble, Festival Arts Antioch, as well as the Racine Concert Band and the Kenosha Pops. She is a cantor and pianist at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kenosha. Ms. Cardamone lives in Kenosha with her brilliant husband, Joe, two wonderful kids, and a pup named Finn. Lots of love to this class of fascinating and supportive people, and sending gratitude for the fabulous leadership of Deonté and Colleen. You made workshop a wonder. Justin Hall (percussionist) is a freelance percussionist from Elburn, IL currently living in Kenosha, WI. Justin performs around the Milwaukee and Chicago area as a theater and orchestral musician. He has worked with the Open Door Music Theater Company as a traveling accompanist and the Forte Theatre Company on their inaugural production of Miracle on 34th Street as the foley artist. Justin studied at Carthage College where he received a B.A. in Music in 2016.
