Social Vulnerability
Nestled in the heart of downtown Charleston, this 40-unit residential nature to address the social vulnerability associated with areas lacking nitive functioning and inspired by the objective of habit and form, world to a serene personal space of rest. Designed to be a space that fosters healthy cogform, the building offers a slow, intentional transition from the public and private gardens connected to each unit, nature is interwoven double-height glass hallway, framing views of either the private creating a clear distinction between spaces for rest and the busy building, offering continuous engagement with natural elements, even mitigation, enhancing water absorption and reducing runoff. This design with diverse encounters with nature, fostering a deeper sense of connection in every resident.





The ground floor serves as an extension of the public market across the street, offering moments for connection with neighbors and friends. The ground floor offers many public amenities such as a gym, daycare, hair salon, and lounge. The second floor contains residential units only, providing privacy for the residents. The progression of returning home is re-imagined with this design, crafting it into an experience of leaving the fast-paced, public world and slowly entering the private space of rest we all call home.

URBAN CULTURE FACTORY
At this Urban Culture Factory, architecture becomes a bridge between communities, and neighbors are united through design. Placed within the urban fabric of Atlanta, this building stands as a testament to the harmonious coexistence of natural elements and man-made structures. Drawing inspiration from the city’s dynamic energy and diverse culture, this Urban Culture Factory seamlessly integrates the natural path of Atlanta pedestrians into its architectural form, creating a juxtaposition between the organic and the constructed. This idea is further emphasized through the contrasting green wall beside its fellow graffiti wall designed by Atlanta artists. Featuring an event space, a light box, areas for restaurants, an activity center and a 3D printing pottery workshop, this Urban Culture Factory celebrates Atlanta’s rich heritage while cultivating a sense of connection and belonging. It invites occupants to appreciate the harmony between natural and urban landscapes.





























































































































































THE LOOP PERFORMING ARTS SCHOOL
The Loop Performing Arts High School emphasizes the benefits of transparency and connectivity within a building for education. When learning within a building, having the ability to see others around and in different spaces can inspire creativity and foster a connection within the occupiers. A central courtyard serves as the heart of the school, connecting different wings and providing a versatile outdoor performance space. This green oasis not only adds a touch of nature but also serves as a communal gathering area for students and staff. Extensive use of glass in the facades brings the outside in and floods the interior with natural light. This transparency not only enhances the overall aesthetics but also creates a sense of openness, connecting the internal spaces with the surrounding landscape. The main auditorium is designed with modular elements to facilitate various seating arrangements, transforming the space for different performances. Additionally, a black box theater provides an intimate setting for experimental performances, further enhancing the school’s versatility. The performing arts school’s architectural design fosters a dynamic and transparent environment where students can explore their artistic passions collaboratively. The emphasis on connectivity and transparency not only enhances the learning experience but also creates a visually stunning and inspiring setting for the next generation of performing artists. 2023

EL PASO REFUGEE
2023 | El Paso, TX
This innovative refugee camp design in El Paso, Texas, re-imagines train cars as adaptable housing units, offering both functionality and sustainability in transitional living. The units are thoughtfully arranged in clusters to form sub-communities, fostering a sense of belonging and connection among residents. These clusters are centered around the outdoor spaces, creating shared courtyards for communal activities and quiet areas for reflection, balancing social interaction and privacy.
Positioned to embrace the site’s stunning mountain views, each unit features large windows equipped with reflective glass to ensure privacy while maintaining a visual connection to the surrounding landscape. Cooling shades on the windows provide thermal comfort, mitigating the desert heat. The modular nature of the train cars allows for flexibility in arrangement, enabling the creation of both intimate community hubs and open pathways that encourage interaction and movement providing a welcoming and safe environment for incoming residents
