Message from the Director Did you know that Carson City has more parks per capita than the national average? With over 8,000-acres of parks, trails, and open space in Carson City, it takes a diverse and devoted team of employees, volunteers, and community partners to keep our parks system functioning.

Last year alone, the City had more than 4,500 hours of volunteer labor from dedicated individuals and groups such as Muscle Powered, Carson High School Cycling Team, Boys and Girls Scouts, and many other churches and service organizations. Sponsorships from Southwest Gas and Carson Tahoe Health enabled hundreds of youth to participate in outdoor recreation programs, and Home Depot provided a much needed re-fresh at Lone Mountain Cemetery to honor our veterans. The Chamber of Commerce championed a fundraising gala for the Community Center and dozens of civic-minded businesses supported interpretive education programs that promote healthy lifestyles.

We truly appreciate the tremendous efforts of our staff and community partners that help make our capital city such a special place to live, work and play.

REFUND POLICY Refunds will be given only when a program is canceled by the Parks and Recreation Department. Canceled contract class refunds will be the responsibility of the instructor. Refunds requested for any other reason will be determined at the discretion of management and may be subject to a 10% processing fee. Refunds may take 2-3 weeks to process.

AQUACIZE Aquacize is a co-ed water exercise program for adults of all ages, in a friendly, energetic atmosphere. Swimming skills are not required. No music is used so the pace is relaxed.

This low-impact, water exercise program will tone muscles of all parts of the body with less stress on muscles. Classes are one hour long. Drop-ins welcome.

GUPPIES & GROWN-UPS Making the water fun for your guppy is the most important step in preparing for swim lessons. This class is designed to acquaint adult and child with play activities and to teach some very basic fundamental skills. The course is parentdriven, under the supervision of an instructor.
