CANCELATION/REFUND POLICY
Refunds will be given only when a program is canceled by the Parks and Recreation Department. Canceled contract class refunds will be the responsibility of the instructor. Refunds requested for any other reason will be determined at the discretion of management and may be subject to a 10% processing fee. Refunds may take 2-3 weeks to process.

Aquatic Programs
AQUACIZE
Aquacize is a co-ed water exercise program for adults of all ages, in a friendly, energetic atmosphere. Swimming skills are not required. No music is used so the pace is relaxed. This low-impact, water exercise program will tone muscles of all parts of the body with less stress on muscles. Classes are one hour long. Drop-ins welcome.

RANGE OF MOTION
This class is designed to increase mobility and range of motion through a series of gentle, head-to-toe exercises in the 92 degree Adult Therapy Pool. These exercises are extremely low impact and are perfect for those with arthritis or who are recovering from surgery or injury. If physical limitations, injuries, joint pain, or stiffness limit your mobility and/or exercising options, this class might be just what you need. Swimming skills not required. Exercises are not cardiovascular in nature.

Inclusive lessons for individuals on the Autism Spectrum or other special needs requiring additional attention. All abilities are welcome. Classes are designed to have a maximum of 3:1 ratio and help participants learn how to be water safe. This is a drop-in program so come and try it out. Days and times may change due to instructor availability.

GROWN-UPS & GUPPIES
Making the water fun for your guppy is the most important step in preparing for swim lessons. This class is designed to acquaint adult and child with play activities and to teach some very basic fundamental skills. The course is parent-driven, under the supervision of an instructor. No registration is required. Class is limited to 12 adult/child pairs, on a first-come, first-served basis.

RED CROSS LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION
Get trained as a lifeguard today! Red Cross Lifeguard Certification is a good way to seek lifeguard employment at facilities across the country, or just take the class to learn valuable skills in lifesaving, first aid, and CPR. Participants must be able to pass a pre skills swim test. The course is a blended learning program, where some course work will be online at home and the rest will be in person.

CARSON TIGERSHARKS COMPETITIVE SWIM PROGRAM
League swimming is the best way to be introduced to the sport of swimming without the high commitment of an elite club. Leagues run on a seasonal basis, and competitions are short and fun, typically running 2-3 hours. The Carson Tigersharks emphasize stroke technique, racing, and friendships for junior swimmers (aged 6-12) and senior swimmers (aged 13-18). ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: One 25yd length of front crawl, one 25yd length of back crawl, comfortable in deep water. Indoor Roller Derby! Girls and boys ages 8-17 will learn the basics of flat-track roller derby in a 4 week roller derby training camp before joining the rest of the team on the track. New participants are not required to have any skates or gear for the first 4 weeks and skating experience is not required. Once on skates, participants will learn how to skate safely and be taught derby rules and skills. Skaters advance at their own speed to eventually land a spot on the Junior Derby team. HOSTED BY DOUBLE R DRIVING SCHOOL
The Driver’s Education Classroom is required for teens under 18 years of age in the state of Nevada. We teach using an informative platform which consists of a DVD, worksheets, word searches, crossword puzzles, lectures, drunk goggles, practice permit test, driving videos, handouts and well as guest speakers. This is a 15-5 class. Students will receive 15 hours of classroom instruction. The student will need to then complete 5 hours of behind the wheel training with Double R Driving School to receive their certificate. This class is taught with the senior in mind. Those grand golden years have come upon us. Retirement, golf on Saturdays and Sunday brunch with the kids. It’s just as important now as it was when we were younger, in fact more so! This class focuses on strengthening muscles used when walking and getting out of a chair; reduces fear of falling, and aids seniors in staying mobile.

If you need help in establishing good conduct and curbing bad habits, this is the course for you. Instructor Guy Yeaman’s 50 years of experience will help you teach your dog to obey all the basic obedience commands; heel, sit, stand, stay, and recall. Each dog needs a training collar (choke chain, Halti, gentle leader, etc.). Dogs must be at least 4 months old and current on their shots. Written shot records must be shown at the start of class. Experience the calming and strengthening effects of Hatha chair yoga, designed for accessibility. Led by Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher Wanda La Russa, these classes combine gentle movement, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques, using a chair for support. Ideal for seniors, those new to yoga, or individuals with limited mobility due to injury or arthritis, this practice builds strength, flexibility, improves balance, and promotes overall wellbeing.

This is the third Annual Capital City Spring Fling Disc Golf Tournament co-sponsored by the Foundation for Carson City Parks & Recreation. This Tournament is a fundraiser for the Carson City Movers and Doers adaptive recreation program. All proceeds will benefit this worthwhile and important program. All skill levels are encouraged to participate, from expert level to novice. The tournament is a 27 hole one round event. STROLLER STROLL SQUAD
This parent/toddler walking and stroller program offers a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for caregivers and their little ones to stay active together. Held on the indoor track at the Multi-Purpose Athletic Center (MAC), participants can enjoy comfortable, weather-free walking while toddlers ride along or explore at their own pace. ADULT PICKLEBALL LEAGUE
Join us for the Inaugural Mixed/Open Recreational Pickleball League, the perfect way to stay active, meet new people, and enjoy one of the fastest-growing sports around! This fun, beginner-friendly league is designed for players of all skill levels (3.0, 3.5, and & 4.0+ divisions will be offered), with an emphasis on sportsmanship, social play, and light competition.

PICKLEBALL WITH MAE: INTRODUCTION TO PICKLEBALL
This is a 4-session class that will introduce new players to the fun sport of pickleball. Participants will learn the fundamentals for game play including game rules, basic serving and hitting (dinks and volleys), plus proper scoring instruction.

This is a 6-session class that is meant for participants who are familiar with the basics of Pickleball. Participants will improve upon their skills in dinking, volleying, gameplay strategy, positioning, footwork, defense, etc.

In 1996, Carson City residents voted for the Quality of Life Initiative which created the Open Space program. Carson City now has thousands of acres of Open Space and miles of trails. Come check out Carson’s beautiful Open Space properties on one of the many interpretive hikes. They’re free and great for all ages.
KIDS TO PARKS DAY
“Kids to Parks Day is a national day of outdoor play celebrated annually on the third Saturday of May. The day connects kids and families with their local, state, and national parks and public lands through thousands of park events that promote discovery and exploration in the great outdoors.” – National Park Trust
The celebration will include music, food, outdoor activities from local organizations, educational booths, and the Junior Park Ranger Olympics! The whole community is invited to join in on this fun day of outdoor play!

HISTORICAL SILVER SADDLE RANCH TOUR
Join the Carson City Parks Rangers for a historical tour of Silver Saddle Ranch and explore the Red House! From mining to ranching to outdoor recreation, Silver Saddle Ranch and the Carson River have been integral parts of Carson City's history and remain important to this day. This tour will take you around the property and dive deep into the historical roots of the area.

JR RANGER ADVENTURE PRESENTS-ART IN THE PARK
Join the Carson City Park Rangers for our next Jr. Park Ranger Adventure Series – Art in the Park! From the Cottonwood tree gallery to the open pasture fields under the wide open sky, let Carson River Park spark your creativity during this outdoor art adventure. Mini easels, canvases, acrylic paint, and brushes will be provided, but feel free to bring your favorite supplies. We will meet at the Carson River Park pavilion where Rangers will be set up with all the painting and coloring supplies.

For the fifth year in a row, Carson City kids, as well as surrounding areas, can become the ultimate Junior Park Ranger by attending the Regional Jr Ranger Day! This year, the event will be hosted by Carson City Parks at Pete Livermore Sports Complex, 1555 Livermore Ln, Carson City Nv, 89701. Festivities begin at 10:00am and will run until 2:00pm. Celebrate National Trails Day with a guided hike and discussion about the Carson River, including its history in our community, our critical watershed, floodplains, wildlife, and the Western Pond Turtle. This event is open to everyone!

TRAILS CHALLENGE
Win prizes for hiking your local trails! This year, its themed to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of Carson City’s Quality of Life Initiative (QOL). Register and complete five trails by November 1 to be entered into the end of the year prize raffle.
This camp is offered by volunteer instructors from the Carson Fly Fishing Club. Day 1 will focus on casting, knot tying and fly tying at Fuji Park. Day 2 transportation will be provided to a regional lake to practice what was taught the previous day. Lunch is included on day 2. Participants 12 and older will need a fishing license.

Join us for two days in The Greenhouse Project’s gardens! We’ll spend time learning about how the organization grows food to provide as donations to the community, get our hands dirty with the composting worms that turn food waste into healthy soil, work on garden maintenance projects, and harvest fruits, veggies, & flowers together. Drinks and a take-home gardening kit are included with registration.

This full-day clinic will provide whole day on Lake Tahoe while being taught kayaking skills. Curriculum includes proper paddling techniques, safety, trip planning, games and more. Equipment, transportation and lunch are included.
