HiLux vs D-Max
It’s not often we see two new utes released within days of one another, but that was the case for the all-new Isuzu D-Max and the updated Toyota HiLux in late August 2020. These two workhorse utes each encompass around 30 variants, but the two versions we recently put against each other were at the higher-grade levels - ones that are supposed to fill the dual purpose roles of work and play.

The CarsGuide editorial team put the HiLux and D-Max through their paces over a gruelling week of testing, testing, their challenges including on-road driving and hardcore off-road tracks.
