Celebrate 2023
In Her Shoes

Dear Members of the Carrollton Family,
Welcome to Celebrate 2023! This is an extraordinary night in the life of Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart. As the Head of School and President of Carrollton, we are honored to welcome you to campus tonight for our most important event of the year. All the proceeds from this evening directly support Carrollton’s remarkable girls and young women. It is because of all of you — the caring and generous parents, the loyal and passionate alumnae, and the supportive friends of the school — that tonight is possible. We would like to especially thank all the Celebrate volunteers who helped with securing ads, funding and participation, preparing the silent auction, and helping to create tonight’s festivities. A special thank you goes to this year’s Celebrate chairs — Melissa Pallett-Vasquez and Nathaly Garcia ’03. This event takes an enormous amount of time and organization, and we are so grateful for all that you do for Carrollton.
In 1800, a young woman named Madeleine Sophie Barat had a vision for the Society of the Sacred Heart. Her vision was to provide girls and young women with an education in the teachings and ministries of the Catholic Church. In the wake of the French Revolution, she wanted to give women a platform to go off and do extraordinary things in a world that so badly needed leaders. For the past 61 years, Carrollton has carried on St. Madeleine Sophie’s legacy to form women of conviction, courage, and confidence in the image of Christ’s heart.
Again, it is because of all of you that we are able to carry St. Madeleine Sophie’s vision into the future. Thank you all!
God Bless and enjoy the evening,

became the theme for Celebrate 2023 upon hearing our Head of School, Heather Gillingham-Rivas ’94, speak of the joy of spending time with our students. Her words crystalized the wonder of partaking in their development as future Women of the Sacred Heart, and the privilege of having that responsibility.
As St. Madeleine Sophie said, the work of education cannot be done without support from the community and partnership with our families. At Celebrate 2023 we wanted to highlight that wonderful experience of being present for every step of their individual journeys as they progress from the littlest children in Montessori, to the accomplished seniors on their way to college and university. To that end, we showcase here some of the images that formed the social media stories shared this year for each of the school divisions.
We encourage you to walk “In Her Shoes” and see the magic your support of Carrollton helps to create, and join us in celebrating the physical, educational, social, and emotional growth of a Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart education.
