Introduction from our CEO, Peter Hyland

We are Carrolls Irish Gifts, an Irish family-owned company founded in 1982. With 19 stores nationwide, we have established ourselves as the leading Irish gift retailer. We welcome visitors from all over the world, as well as enjoying a very strong domestic customer base.

Like all retailers, we have had a challenging few years, but our passion to succeed, coupled with our team of dedicated and talented colleagues, meant that when no one was growing, we opened 3 new stores as we re-emerged from lockdown.

We continue to grow our brand and successfully attract that domestic customer which has resulted in a very busy year of trading for the business. We innovated and introduced new Irish suppliers, new ranges, and more seasonal gifts.

We have a robust set of values that set an expectation of our business behaviours. Having recently relocated our support office and warehouse to a fabulous new facility in Fonthill, we are enabled to continue on our growth trajectory.

We have over 300 colleagues representing 33 different countries.

Our innovative business reflects the hard work and ambition of this team of colleagues. We pride ourselves on quality customer service. This attitude has been the bedrock of our success and along with our values, will guide us through whatever challenges we have yet to face.

I am proud to share our first Gender Pay Gap Report for 2022. Whilst we are only commencing our diversity journey, our business has a balanced blend of genders and seniority which has contributed to the good news story.

For the last 40 years, we’ve been connecting with people from around the world. We are very proud of our modest beginnings back in 1982, as well as the determination that has gone into making Carrolls the tradition that it is today. We now have 19 stores based in Dublin, Belfast, Cork, Kilkenny and Galway.

As an Irish craft and heritage gift supplier, we export all over the globe. But our loyal domestic customer base is as strong as ever. We love to share homegrown craft locally, and customers love the fact that over 80% are sourced from Irish local businesses. Carrolls is the centre for Irish craft that champions Irish heritage, creativity, and design. Not bad for what was once a small family business!
