It’s not all fun Getting old

Bits Drop Off

My bits are packing up and are on the wane. Eyesights gone worse and that’s a shame. I’ve gone deaf can’t hear what folk say. My waistline grows ever bigger by the day.

Now listen to me young ones and please don’t scoff, As you grow older body parts pack up and some drop off. When younger around the age of twenty three, I was fit and agile as anybody wanted to be.

I don’t know how to What’s App, or send a text, Trying to use the TV remote makes me vexed. My family bought me a Kindle to use, That only caused me to blow my fuse.

I never thought about getting older and losing my hair, Bits not working, slowing down, getting stiff I did not care. When younger I was fairly tall and pretty strong However after the age of sixty that didn’t last long.

Once I had head that was full of hair, Now I have a patch that’s showing bare. I can’t walk as far or even as fast, I’m beginning to wonder how long I will last?

Now that I have reached the ripe old age of seventy three, I have not many body part that work as should believe me. If I bend down it takes two people to help me to rise, That’s not all now I have cataracts on both my eyes.

It’s All Yorkshire on TV Good heavens and Snakes alive, Yorkshire have taken over Chanel Five. Jane Mc Donald and the Yorkshire Vet, Traffic cops and many more yet. Every night at least three Yorkshire Shows, Where this will end Heaven only knows. They show all aspects of Yorkshire lives. Even the BBC feature Yorkshire Midwives. ITV are showing ever more a Yorkshire tale, Five nights a week of course it’s Emmerdale. Then if you need even more of a treat, There are even repeats of good old Heartbeat.

A cut above! Stuart Taylor International was established in 2003 and began with buying and selling used equipment of all types … from speedboats, motor homes, diggers to dumpers, lawnmowers and tractors.

As time went on Stuart saw a gap in the groundcare market and began to focus more on this type of machinery. A used Gianni Ferrari was purchased and when Stuart realised what a fantastic machine they were, he looked to becoming a dealer and this was the start of a real change in the business. What’s On This summer in Blackburn Town Centre there is so much family friendly activity that you won’t want to miss!

We're very excited to be able to share details of this year's Summer Reading Challenge from The Reading Agency in partnership with local libraries. This year it's called 'Gadgeteers', and it runs from 1st July until 30th September, and children age 4 12 read 6 library books. Along the way they collect stickers and other prizes for each book that they read, and they get a certificate and medal once they've completed the challenge. Joining 'Gadgeteers' is easy and free of charge children just have to complete a registration form when they visit the library, and then we'll hand them a membership pack to get them started. They can start and finish at any time during the next three months, and even do the challenge more than once if they want to. There are no restrictions on which library books they read they have a completely free choice, as long as they are books borrowed from the library. In addition to that, The Lancashire Jubilee Tapestry at Blackburn Cathedral that is well worth a visit. A monumental 18-metre tapestry to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen is in situ until late autumn and brings to life the story of her reign and her impact on the people of Lancashire through a unique accompanying soundscape.
