GENERAL MANAGER UPDATE FROM DAVID NORTH October is officially here, and we just wrapped up another fantastic pool season with the annual Dog Swim. As a dog lover, seeing everyone’s pups splashing around is honestly one of my absolute favorite days of the year at the Club—there's no better way to send off the summer. With the main season behind us, the pool is now closed except for lap swimming. I want to extend a big thank you to everyone for respecting the closure and giving our lap swimmers—who patiently shared the pool with our swim team all summer—a chance to enjoy some peaceful laps. We plan to keep lap swimming open as long as the weather cooperates, hopefully through mid-October! October is packed with exciting tradition and seasonal fun at the club! Here is a quick look at what we have coming up this month: Thursday Night Kids Eat Free Bingo is Back! Our popular Thursday Bingo nights are returning for October! These evenings always fill up fast, so if you are planning to bring the family, please be sure to make your reservations early. Century Club Celebration — October 9 If your age plus your years of membership at the Carriage Club total 100 or more, you are cordially invited to our Century Club Party! It is always a wonderful evening where we get to honor and celebrate our longtime members. You won't want to miss it! Halloween Festivities & Pumpkin Carving — October 23 & 27 We have plenty of spooky fun planned for the end of the month: October 23: Our annual Haunted House! October 27: Pumpkin Carving Night (New this year!). I can’t wait to see how creative everyone gets with their designs. The rink project is moving right along! The new rink slab was poured on September 4, and by the time you read this, it should just about be finished curing. Up next, we’ll start installing the poly flooring around the rink and getting the boards put up. We're also planning a cover structure over the benches, though we'll hold off on that final piece until spring. If you haven't spotted it yet, take a look next time you're by—we’ve got a brand-new scoreboard installed! It’s really rewarding to watch all the pieces come together, and I couldn't be more excited to get ice back under our feet this November. Summer might be behind us, but October is shaping up to be a bustling month around the Club. Thank you all for your continued support of our staff and everything we do here. It’s a privilege serving this community. See you at the Club!

CLUB PRESIDENT UPDATE FROM JUSTIN BEGNAUD For the last year, our Board of Directors has been guided by two principles: 1) Membership Experience, and 2) Long Term Orientation. Whether it be our food offering, entertainment & events, or programming at the various levels of the club, such as tennis or fitness programming, swim & dive team or figure skating and hockey programming - We strive to offer the best in class for each of these as we cater to all our members. Our long term orientation has put us on a path to address immediate and urgent capital projects, deteriorating club facilities, and attempt to shore up all deferred maintenance. I would like to offer a third guiding principle: Hiring and retaining the best staff is paramount to ensure we have an optimal membership experience and to keep our facilities and programming running smoothly and efficiently. Earlier this year we hired Trea Stahlhut as our new Director of Food & Beverage. Last year, we brought back Kelsey O'Neill as our Director of Membership & Communications, and she continues to manage our fabulous Figure Skating programming. (Kelsey is also our official Club Photographer!) Chef Storm continues to over-perform at our dinning facilities and catered events. Gregg Best and Scott Schibig have been with the club for over 20 years. And both of their staff manage two of the most dynamic product offerings at the club - Fitness & Racquet Sports. And it is with great pleasure we introduce Rado Illo as our new Hockey Director. Our search was thorough, yet swift, and while several applicants would have been suitable, only Rado raised to the top. Rado is a former professional hockey player and has run competitive programs and kids’ hockey camps throughout the years making him a great fit for our Hockey players at every level. As a friendly reminder, we need to respect and appreciate our hard working staff. If a staff member respectfully tells you "no", for whatever reason, I can assure you this is either for your own safety or has an impact on the greater member experience. Later this month, our Finance Committee will review the 2027 Annual Budget, and will aim to keep our three guiding principles in mind. While it is impossible to guarantee we will never have another assessment here at the club, what I can promise is we -as a Board - will always carefully plan our annual operating budget, and future financial planning, to ensure we spend money wisely on the property as a whole, and the facilities that are the backbone of club operations. Since 2019, and beginning with the tennis pavillion, we are working our way up the hill in terms of addressing our aging club facilities (Ice Rink Construction, 2026), along with necessary renovations (Coach House 2024-2026) and targeted capital improvements & general maintenance (Pool Mechanical, Main Club House roof repairs, HVAC, Parking Lot resurfacing, 2025-2026). We are actively working on a timeline for repairing the Clay Tennis Courts, upgrading the Pools & Pool Deck, and overhauling the Main Clubhouse with an Outdoor Dinning Terrace. With our current Capital Dues structure, combined with our assessment fees, we are capable of knocking out one of these capital projects per year. Please look for a projected timeline for these improvements later in 2026 or early 2027. To borrow a line from Jeff Bezos, we continue to be stubborn on the larger vision for the club, but will be adaptable to the changing needs of our membership and flexible on the smaller details.

See ya at the Club! Justin R. Begnaud

Dear Members, Fall is here, and Chiefs football is rocking—my favorite time of year! There is plenty to look forward to in our dining rooms as we welcome the season. Our brand-new Main Dining Room menu debuts on October 8, featuring fresh fall flavors and seasonal ingredients. The following week, we will introduce new menu items in the Coach House as we prepare for ice season. The culinary team has been working hard to deliver meals that exceed expectations, and their enthusiasm for the upcoming menus has been exciting to see. We cannot wait to share what we have been cooking! Mark your calendars for Prime Rib Night on October 16 and Lobster Night on October 30. Both are great opportunities to gather with family and friends and enjoy an evening at the Club. Don’t forget that Thursday nights are Bingo Night in the Main Dining Room, where kids eat free with the purchase of an adult entrée. Come enjoy dinner and a little friendly competition! Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming you to the table this fall. Go Chiefs! James Storm Jr., CEC Executive Chef Carriage Club Kansas City
