GENERAL MANAGER UPDATE FROM DAVID NORTH We’ve made it through July! While August usually turns our thoughts toward back-to-school, there are still plenty of warm days—and great events—left to enjoy at Carriage Club. First, a huge shoutout to our swim team, who finished 7th overall and proudly took home 1st place in fun! It’s a tradition that truly speaks to the spirit of our young athletes, families, and volunteers. And the fun isn't over yet. Be sure to mark your calendars for Ladies' Day at the Pool on August 28. Regular swimming continues through September 7, leading up to our fan-favorite Doggie Swim on September 13 to officially wrap up the season. After the pups have their turn, the pool will transition to lap swimming only. August also marks one year since the opening of our renovated and expanded Coach House. It's hard to believe it has already been a year. In many ways, it feels as though it has always been part of The Carriage Club, and I have almost forgotten what life was like during the construction process. Watching our members bring this space to life makes all the planning worth it. On the cooler side of things, hockey season is just around the corner. I'm pleased to report that the rink replacement project remains on schedule for our winter opening. It has been exciting to watch the progress, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to the ice in just a few short months. Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our Capital Projects Survey. Your feedback invaluable as we plan for the club’s future. The Strategic Planning Committee will soon meet to review the survey results and develop recommendations for the Board of Directors. I look forward to sharing the next steps as we continue to invest in The Carriage Club for generations to come. As you plan your dinner dining, we encourage you to take full advantage of the Carriage Club's offerings. The Main Dining Room is open Thursday through Saturday, with Happy Hour beginning at 3:00 p.m. and dinner service starting at 5:00 p.m. Chef Storm and his team continue to create outstanding weekly specials, and we hope you'll join us often. Enjoy these final weeks of summer, and we look forward to seeing you as we welcome another exciting fall and winter season. See you at the Club!

CLUB PRESIDENT UPDATE FROM JUSTIN BEGNAUD It's hard to believe the dog days of summer have arrived and yet quickly coming to a close. I imagine most members are wrapping up family vacations, myself included, and preparing for their children to head back to school in a few short weeks. For an easy dinner hack during these busy days, the Club will be offering to-go meal box options August 17th20th. Each to-go box will serve 4 people, and there will be a variety of food options each night. Sign up on the club calendar to reserve your box before August 14th. Now that the World Cup has concluded, and our fine City achieved the desired success playing international host, we can all go back to normalcy. I will say this summer was one of the best in recent memory, and for a lot of reasons. I will mention some of the best reasons here and below. Our summer youth sports programs, including tennis, swim and dive, wrapped up with a lot of young athletes achieving their best. Our world-class Club continues to hum along now with 681 members. This is a strong membership level. Or dare I say, the best number. The highest member count was in 2021, with 710, and we can all agree the Club felt overcrowded. (Not the best) Carriage Club has hosted many weddings, family celebrations, sporting events and other marquee events already this year. And with our new best Coach House, we continue to be the talk of the town, which helps drive membership inquires that lead to new membership applications. I know I mentioned this in my July newsletter, nevertheless, please be advised as we get closer to the 700 member total we will move into a wait-list for any new or prospective members. As David mentioned in his letter, our current financials are healthy and in good standing order, and our current ice rink construction project is on schedule, and on budget. The best news! To keep with the theme of celebrating our 70th Anniversary, I am enclosing a photo of the entire 6+ acre property of Carriage Club from 1968. Pembroke Hill is in the background with our Main Club House in the foreground. You'll also notice the construction of a bridge over Brush Creek at the State Line intersection with Shawnee Mission Parkway. Front and center are the grass tennis courts. I would posit we have the best racquet facility and tennis program in the entire Kansas City metro, dating all the way back to 1968! Our fitness programming remains at the top. Without any doubt we have the best food thanks to Chef Storm and his talented kitchen staff. In fact, all of our staff from the Main Club House down to the Tennis Pavillion is first class. And once we have completed the new ice rink, our hockey and figure skating programs will continue to be among the best in the Midwest. And of course, we have the best members in the World. Can anyone argue that we simply have the BEST club in Kansas City? Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions, comments, or want to get more involved at the Club.

All My Best, Justin R. Begnaud
