Calatrava, Alamillo Bridge Study
Replication and Rendering
This study examines the phases of engineering and 3D modeling that enabled Calatrava to develop this iconic bridge in Seville, Andalucia (Spain). I replicated the structural supports of the bridge and the intricate network of cables through Grasshopper software. Additionally, I carefully reproduced the original architectural flourishes, from the organic form of the bridge shaft to the intricate railings and nighttime lights. Completing this course in Fall 2020, I became a Student Instructor Assistant (SIA) in the Fall of 2021. I was able to apply the skills I learned to a diverse set of student projects, assisting in a study of the Golden Gate Bridge, Shintenno-ji Pagoda, Mont St. Michel Abbey, and homes by Frank Lloyd Wright, among other outstanding explorations.
