Wake Electric’s Time-of-Use Rate Update
Effective Nov. 1, 2022, our residential time-of-use rates are changing. In recent times, our system peaks are more frequently occurring on weekends and holidays. Therefore, weekends and holidays will no longer be considered as off-peak starting in November and will now be treated like a weekday. Although our residential time-of-use rate will remove weekends and holidays from off-peak, we will be lowering the on-peak price and changing the dates for on-peak consumption, see below:
Winter on-peak hours: Nov. 1 – March 31 (6-8 a.m.) Monday-Sunday at 24 cents per kWh. Winter off-peak: 8 centers per kWh.
Summer on-peak hours: April 1 – Oct. 31 (4-6 p.m.) Monday-Sunday at 24 cents per kWh. Summer off-peak: 8 centers per kWh. Please note: If you use timers or programmable thermostats, we encourage you to modify the settings accordingly on Nov. 1. If you have any questions, please contact our office at 800.474.6300 to speak to one of our customer service representatives about these changes.
