People Training Dogs This educational class by Roc Solid Obedience teaches you how to recognize and control problems before they become unmanageable. Your dog learns to heel, sit, down, stay, stand for a veterinary exam and come when called.

People Training Dogs Continued This five-week class is designed to strengthen your dog's on-leash skills and prove basic level obedience commands already learned in the previous class. Move toward off-leash control. New commands include: stand, formal finish, moving sit, down and hand signals for commands.

Little Dancers

Dance class designed for boys and girls new to dance, along with a parent or caregiver.

Focus on dance movement, hand-eye coordination and basic dance techniques that are great for early childhood development.

Toddlers twirl and turn while being introduced to ballet, music and moves to increase motor skills. Dancers are without parents as they dance to music aimed to build independence and self-confidence.

Ballet Pre-Pointe/Pointe

Our advanced traditional Ballet class focuses on pirouettes, use of the head and upper body, fluidity of port de bras as well as intricacies of small and large jumps.

Dancers continue classical ballet technique and begin the study of pre-pointe and pointe focusing on foot strength and suppleness.

Dancers use pointe shoes to learn a different ballet discipline.

This year Santa is taking the train into town, to his own Gretna Station cottage! Santa and his elves will arrive in Carol Stream on December 15 & 16 for private visits in his Carol Stream cottage! Participants are responsible to review the current protocol of a trip location prior to registering and should be aware that requirements are ever changing. Some destinations may require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test. We cannot process credits or refunds after the payment deadline for any participant unable to comply with location guidelines. Accessibility Most Adult Trips and Events are accessible; however, participants using walkers or wheelchairs should confirm the trip location’s accessibility in advance. Use the Activity Key as a guide when determining if a program suits your capabilities.

Activity Key

Payments Registrants are required to either pay in full or enroll in a payment plan and complete an Automatic Payment Request form at the time of registration. If enrolling in a payment plan, payments for trips will be withdrawn from the account listed on the Automatic Payment Request form on the payment due date listed for each trip. If a due date has passed, you may still enroll in the trip if space is available; payment is due at registration.

Enroll in the waitlist for a trip any time at no fee.

Trip Cancellations Withdrawals should be requested prior to the payment deadline.

If you can no longer attend after the deadline, withdrawals are only processed if a participant on the waitlist takes your spot or if you find a replacement. There is no guarantee that a waitlist replacement will be found after the due date has passed.

If a friend is taking your place on the trip, a signed waiver and payment are due before your withdrawal can be processed. Passengers not on our roster are not permitted to attend. Refer to our Refund and Withdrawal Policy.

Departure Times Departure times listed for each trip reflect the time when the bus departs. Always arrive five to ten minutes early in order to check in and board the bus. Seating is first come, first served.

Noncompetitive cheerleading and tumbling are offered in one class. Learn basic tumbling based on skill ability. Practice fundamentals including cheers, jumps and dance routines.

The Springers gymnastics team is year-round for ages 5-18 years. Springers compete in the Illinois Park District Gymnastic Conference (IPDGC) at the tumbling, compulsory and optional levels.

The ActivKids program will begin at 2:15pm on the days listed. If those days fall into a participant’s regular schedule they will automatically be registered. If those days are not part of a participant’s regular schedule, a flex pass can be purchased for any day care is needed.

Advanced registration of 72 hours is required before your child's first attendance day. A minimum of two weeks' notice is required if your child needs one-on-one assistance from a WDSRA support staff.

READ ALL GUIDELINES Meet and Greet The meet and greet is a set time where players, parents and coaches meet each other and hand out any necessary information and in some cases receive their uniforms

Player Evaluations Players get rated based on each skill set for that particular sport for the draft/team placement. Drafts are typically for ages 10U and above. All players are encouraged to attend.

Placed on a Specific Team Due to the nature of the program, we cannot accept any coach, player or carpool requests. However, one mutual friendship request is honored for players in a league for 2nd grade/8U and younger along with youth volleyball. Request deadlines are the same as registration deadlines (not an early bird).

Playing Up Playing up is not allowed for instructional soccer or tee-ball.

For all other leagues, playing up is allowed by one age or grade level. Any player seeking to play up must get permission from the league supervisor prior to registration. Any participant playing up must also register in person.

Swimmers are evaluated for swim level placement, and lessons are conducted in either the 25-yard lap pool or therapy pool depending on swimmer level.

100yd "Beat the Clock" Challenge The 100yd "Beat the Clock" Challenge is designed to test your ability to pace yourself during a workout, as well as your overall endurance and (eventually) your speed when swimming. It’s a wonderful way to help support the parks and programs you know and love and ensure they are there for generations to come. Your donation helps us fund our Scholarship Program, Parks and Facility Improvements, Program Enhancements, and Green Initiatives. Carol Stream Parks Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to improving financial support for the Carol Stream Park District. All contributions to the Foundation are tax-deductible. Identified donors receive a written receipt.

Carol Stream Parks Foundation Bike Club The bike club accommodates all skill levels.

Each bike ride leaves from the Simkus Recreation Center the second Thursday of the month at 6pm, and the fourth Saturday of the month at 9am. Bike Club rides twice a month May through October and are led by one of our guides.
