Frequently Asked Questions Do they have to know what instrument they want to play? Yes; this is aimed at people who already play an instrument but who want to play with other musicians. Individual lessons can be arranged separately. Do they have to have their own instrument? Yes; currently the Music Centre is aimed at encouraging young people to play together, sharing skills and knowledge however advice can be given at individual music lessons if required. It may be possible to accommodate students who play more than one instrument (i.e. Woodwind & Guitar) What levels of experience does a child/young person need? The Music Centre will accept everyone from beginner to advanced. Groups will be formulated as soon as we know who is attending, and their skills levels. How do we enrol? Registration will take place between 1600 and 1800 on Wednesday 28 th September, at the Carnegie Theatre. Registration forms will be available from Wednesday 14 th September from the Carnegie Theatre, Workington or by email from marlene.johnston@carnegietheatre.co.uk. The fee for the first term (October to December) will be ÂŁ20 and should be paid at the registration event. What happens if someone cannot attend a session? Apologies would be appreciated by email to marlene.johnston@carnegietheatre.co.uk. There will be no refund for missed sessions. Can I enrol part way through a term? Although not ideal this can be done by arrangement. What if I want to change my learning from one instrument to another part way through a term? This should not pose a problem and can be done by arrangement. As in question 2, we may even be able to accommodation students who play more than one instrument.
