SUMMER WATER SAFETY Summer is our favorite time of year. We love the warm weather, the bright sun, and most of all, we love seeing lots of happy guests safely enjoy The Waterpark every day. Whether you’re riding the waves on the FlowRider®, dipping your toes over your tube in the Lazy River or catching some rays by the side of the pool, there are ways you can ensure that everyone stays safe.

Wear Sunscreen:

30

The sun can have effects on your body that last long after you’ve left the pool. Be sure to apply sunscreen with plenty of SPF regularly during your visit to prevent dangerous sunburns that could ultimately lead to skin cancer.

Adult Supervision: Parents and children should be sure to follow all of the rules regarding age and height limits for each of the features within The Waterpark. Find rules posted throughout the park, online at carmelclayparks.com or ask a friendly staff member!

Stay Hydrated:

H2O

It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of a visit to The Waterpark and forget to grab a drink of water, but dehydration is a common medical emergency that our staff helps with each summer. Make sure to take regular breaks, check on loved ones and get what you need to drink before jumping back into the fun.

Know Where to Get Help: If you or someone near you appears to be suffering from any kind of medical emergency, make sure you know where to find a staff member that can get you the attention you need. Lifeguards are stationed throughout The Waterpark and a First Aid tent is located in the center of the park, near the entrance of the Lazy River.

22 | REGISTER ONLINE AT CARMELCLAYPARKS.COM

Listen to the Lifeguards: When you hear the lifeguards blow their whistles, make sure you listen to what they have to say. If they’re asking you to stop running or asking everyone to get out of the pool, be sure to follow instructions in order to keep yourself and those around you safe.

Our Stars We love telling your success stories. And boy do we have a lot to share! Our CCPRStars blog shares inspirational outlooks on some of our member’s lives, the struggles they have had to overcome, the changes they have made, and the achievements they now get to celebrate. Optimism and positive thinking are the key to change and the driver we’ve seen in our members who have reached their goals. We’ve had the pleasure of being a part of their journeys and are so proud of their success. We’ve had an individual who was afraid of the water and is now training for an Ironman. We’ve seen another individual focus on her health and wellness goals and see great results in losing weight and eating healthier. The stories are moving, courageous, and bold. The real reason behind why we write these is that you must follow your dreams, whatever they are, and no matter how crazy they sound in your head. Stay tuned and check us out on the blog to feel inspired and get the motivation you need to achieve your goals. You never know how one person’s story can impact and change your life.

Our volunteers are one of our greatest natural resources – serving in our main areas and helping us enhance our services to the greater community beyond Carmel and Clay Township. Our volunteers promote excellence, a dedication to giving back to the community, professionalism, and a passion for our three core mission areas. In return, we strive to provide all volunteers with the tools and assistance they need to thrive. We treat all volunteers with the respect and dignity, just as they do with our employees, participants, and members. We act in a matter that is transparent and trustworthy and strive to treat all volunteers with equity.
