5 Things You Should NOT Do When Renting A Car
Renting a car, either for short term or long term is your friend in dire moments of needing transportation. They can come quite in handy, but not everything about renting a car is as simple as it seems. There may be some things that you have been doing, yet you should not. When travelling, either for business, recreational, or leisure purposes, rent-a-car services are more convenient than actually buying one. You can bring your own car, but if you are flying overseas, and travelling abroad, it can be a hassle. This is why many people now opt to rent a car. But upon renting a car, you may be doing things that would be wiser not to do. Here are some of them: 1. Paying for gasoline ahead of time Prepaying for gasoline upon renting a car sounds practical - no time would be wasted stopping over, and refuelling your tank. However, some rent a car companies have developed new ways in car refuelling which makes it all the more expensive, and makes the car harder to rent. Some of us may think that this is a good catch. But are you sure you are going to return the car empty tanked? Sometimes, you would return the car with some fuel left inside, and the same goes for the person who rented the car before you. All the excess payment for the car would be redirected to the company. 2. Failing to refuel on your way to the destination You must take note of all the gas stations, when you are renting a car. After picking up the rental car you had just got, it is wiser to have it refuelled immediately, than refuelling it just on your way returning it. This would make the costs more minimal,
3. Purchasing insurance for car rental. Again you might think insurance inclusions in a rental car is cost-effective, but it actually varies. Check first with your insurance company because they may include insurance for rental cars as well, before you actually delve into another auto insurance. 4. Check your credit card coverage If your car insurance does not cover rental cars, your credit card might. If you are paying with your credit card, then consider yourself safe from auto insurance policies. 5. Ignoring “loss of use” insurance “Loss of use” insurance is the payment for damaged cars. This covers the price of the car by the days it could not be up for rental. Most insurance companies do not cover this. So, this insurance must not be undermined. More so, drive safely, and responsibly, so you would not run into any accidents that would not only cost you your money, but also your safety. There sure are many companies out there that provide many rental car services. Some of these companies may have provided you with what you need, and what you want, or how your conduct would be.
