Newcastle comes alive with creativity every October as artists from across the region share their vision of the city and Hunter through the Newcastle Club Foundation Art Prize. This year, the Prize is bigger and more inclusive than ever, welcoming painters, photographers, mixed-media artists, and drawers to interpret the theme: “Newcastle.”

Over 40 semi-finalists have been selected, each offering a unique perspective on our city and region from intimate coastal scenes to bold industrial landscapes Their works will be on display at the Semi-Finalists Exhibition at Newcastle Art Space from 3–12 October, giving the community an early glimpse of the talent and creativity on show.

The excitement continues at the Finalists’ Awards Evening on Friday 31 October, 6–8 pm at the Newcastle Club, where esteemed judges Tory Loudon, Izabela Pluta, and Catherine Dunlop will award the $12,000 acquisitive Prize, alongside the Fresh Talent and Staff Choice Awards

Following the awards, the finalist works will be exhibited in the Club’s Hudson & Ash Gallery from 14 October, allowing members to enjoy the shortlisted works up close.
